    I also came across this channel by accident. My game has really gone downhill lately and felt very frustrated. I tried this today in the golf simulator and was really impressed by the way I could hit crisp irons repeatedly with what felt like less effort. Clubhead speed showed a marginal increase too. Many thanks.

    Don’t hesitate!!!. Didn’t even hear about JV until Tuesday (18hcp) avg. 95+. Practiced for 2 days mostly into a net and went out today and outplayed everyone, shot an 86 on the toughest course in my area. All by just believing in the concept. I know for a fact I was still doing things that got me in trouble before but with Jim’s setup those slices went straighter and closer to target. Insane!!!!

    Jim, one thing that helped me using your method. In addition to staying still, weight forward and closed shoulders , I pretended I had a football in between my arms all the way through the backswing and Downswing. This was amazing and my ball was launching even further and my ball striking was the best it’s ever been

    I stumbled across your videos Saturday and today Monday (Sept 2022)I went to the range and used your set up and I will with out a doubt have to say I never hit the ball so crisp all I concentrated on was the weight on the bottom of my lead foot and not all the backswing B.S. Thank you for putting out these videos very much appreciated!!

    Simply a different dynamic to the game than typically has been taught for eons. We and our human minds often get "trapped" into traditional methods and traditional thinking when in reality there simply might be a better/easier way to accomplish what we are trying to do. Jim's innovative thinking and teachings of a different and simpler way to get it done, is not only eye opening and refreshing, but it simply works! So sad that our society today is so hard to convince/change, in a lot of instances, when traditional methods have been the status quo for many years. Thanks Mr Venetos.....

      Well, I do love the technique and incorporating aspects into my game, it is not that the golfing world is hard to convince or change, it is purely a world of many viewpoints and many, many, avenues of skinning the cat. So, if there were a de facto easier way to skin the cat; then a slew of followers would be at the door. Golf is so popular all across the world, and golf devices and golf instructors and golfing books and myriad of golfing videos and aids saturate the vast desert of the golfing oasis, so everyone throws their advice into the mix. People have varying approaches and biases and persuasions in golfing pursuits, it just so happens that the difficulty of the game seems to render the morass of ideas mute. But, the best ideas always have the strongest following, and perhaps the strongest staying power, however, none reach a dominant share of the market place of ideas.

    New understanding: shoulder turn. I used to take pride when I could swing past the ball with my forward shoulder (I'm LH) -like it was the greatest accomplishment of my golfing career. A full turn!!!! It's hogwash. The opposite is actually true when the weight is forward, steady and still, and the best of all tempo finds itself. The arms do exactly what they're supposed to do, they return on a shallow path to the ball with minimal effort and a square strike. A square strike. Boom. Boom. Boom. The shoulders stay closed. And everything happens as it should...

      How long did it take before you saw results with Jim’s swing method?

    • @slewofdamascus
      @slewofdamascus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@bmatt9379 a long time...seriously, it's about staying forward and still. And then building natural swing from there. Sounds easy, right? No. I'm still working on it. I'm still working on how to set myself up so that 70% of my weight is is on my forward side (which for me is the right, because I'm LH). If you watch his videos you see how he barely moves to the side, and it's like whoa, hold on, Jim! How or what did you just do? It's magic. That's why he makes you join the village. He's not going to give it away. If you really want to see how he's transitioning weight and movement (critical), you have to pay for the monthly or yearly classes. For that, you get all the feedback you can ask for. All the answers he can give you. But there are no shortcuts. When he talks about 120 different swings, he's not kidding. That's about speed and power, but it's critical to becoming the best player you can be. I was a 5-handicap. I got a bad disease. The medicine affected my hand-eye-cooridination. And that was my game. I had to change to have any chance to play golf again at a single digit level. I had to learn how to swing cyclically. To take the hands out of it. I had to rely on precise body movements. Stillness. I'm not there, yet. But I'm getting there...

    I can swing many different styles of swings which I've learnt from many trainers and they all work great. But Jim's method is my fav and so consistent. Its just about the setup and knowing what he means by keeping still. Then its practice and practice but the great thing is, when your bad shots turn out to be OK shots that's when it starts to feel amazing. I have so much fun with Jim's swing and its now my only swing

    Jim, I really enjoy your videos. You make it simple, logical and easy to understand. As I am now in my early 60's, I've looked at several swing methods over the last couple of years to help with ball striking and consistancy. Weight and counterweight.
    I belive that JV set up really is a result of proper counterweight :
    When swinging your arms to your trial side you naturally should counterweight to your lead side.
    If not you either get to fare to your trial side with an ott as result - or you have to braze against your trial leg.
    But if you pre-swing with proper counterweight you auto get into JV pivot - and then swing your arms back you have to stay still until your arms get back in front of you.. 👍
