12:35 I used to have a '98 Impreza (stock) and I could only describe its launch as jumping off the line. This is best example I have seen of this. It doesn't matter how many revs you give it, just dump the clutch and you arrive at your destination.
I use to always slip the clutch when launching and never had a problem. Then the one time i thought fk it ill try dumping it BOOM! the gearbox grenaded 😂
@@NsMaori 😂 I had a non-turbo hawk before that. Bottom end went. £2k rebuild and on first big pull after 500 easy miles it went again.
Got ghosted by the builder so put a £300 2nd hand lump in.
Drove away from getting it fitted and lost 3rd gear immediately 😭

Just for everyones info, this was the first race of the day before I raced the 812, and the faults occurred when racing the gtr. At the time wasn’t aware of the faults but still tried to send it anyways for the culture. Also wasn’t short shifting it’s how the turbos set up and spools so quick to redline. Car is all fixed now and running solid! ✌🏽✌🏽Thanks again Jamie, be back again in a different toy 👀🔥

I remember 20yrs ago having a 94 Impreza WRX with half that power and always remembered how hard it launched
Hopefully Scooby can sort out his top end issues before he comes back on because it would be interesting to see when its fully capable

Subarus are for dig races, they suffer bad up top hence the results here. Especially the older ones with even shorter gears. Sorry but subies are dig monsters only they extract all power down low, and sacrifice their topend power. No subie aint beating no rb skyline or supra on top end sorry.
Driver making excuses about his 5th and 6th, subies just aint got no legs up top.

First of all, damn for cutting up a real gtr...but shout out for the owner bringing it and racing it for our entertainment like this, sounds phenomenal!!!! As a gtr owner myself, i dont condone that nonsense about "not racing skylines" 😂😂😂 relax, its godzilla but you're not making 1200hp with a sequential where you can talk that kind of shit.

The subie was having issues on the top end most likely a fuel cut…nothing to do with his driving skills (shifting)
Pretty sure the subie driver knows how to manage the traction, aswell as knowing his power bands and gear ratios more than you would. It was clear as day his car was cutting out as he described. Quit the delusional bs holey
Did you watch the same video as usual? The Subaru driver drove awesome! Very quick launches especially with it bobbing at 6k rpm. You need to understand what is actually going on without just blindly watching what you think is happening.
He had to. The car was breaking up at 5-6k. That shitty tuner company these Subaru owners seem to go to.
Although i love the GTR, my favorite between those two, I absolutely have to say, that Impreza looks amazing, I love the clean look.

That Subaru may be having valve float issue. Needs to get sorted for power to be good up top!! Nice to see him back… loving the car. Hope he fixes that issue

Sounds more fueling or fuel delivery to me. Romaine is a good tuner so I am sure it is set up well on the ecu
Sounds more like boost cut which could be any number of problems. Fueling, ingnition, bad O2 reading, coolant temps even something as minimal as wrong plug gaps can trigger a over boost cut.
@@Underpantsniper plug gaps would be more likely to affect at peak torque not at peak power. Either way it isn't happy.
@@racedynamix one or two spark plugs gapped wrong can do some strange stuff in a four cylinder.

Scooby rev limit doesn't sound that high due to something not right, also that gearbox sounds like the close ratio version, better for standing drags. UK 6 speed would suit the subaru better as the ratios are longer for the rolling.

both amazing...Id rather have the WRX for a daily cruiser (with interior added back in), but both sound and look amazing. That Scubies got some crazy close gearing.... these guys are fast...Im over here with mid 400's whp in my 2016 Focus ST eating up V8's, and these guys would make it look like I'm standing still 😅
I don’t know why the hp figures are that high in the uk but that skyline in Australia is a very mild street car making about 350kw’s at the wheels or 470hp (this is reflected in the mph of the 1/4mile) I know bhp is a crank horse power calculation but it’s by no means a serious build power wise. Sounds great & goes good but nothing serious.

to be fair old m8 in subi would have done really well if it was running right, maybe some funky boost by gear/overboost but damn it launches hard and his shifts are pretty decent bar the one missshift! its gonna be a monster once issues ironed out

Interesting race. Gtr gear ratios are HUUUGE conpared to Scooby. Scooby doing really well till the misfire issue at the upper end of 5th/6th.
Subaru usually has close ratios

I looked at the tappet cover and also the RB26 at the sound check as a higher pitch in the rev then an RB25.... But it still sounds sick. . Love the videos mad cars as always GET AFFI BACK to take on the RB35 of the last video.... HHAHAHAHAA 😂😂😂😂

22B had this same issue last time he was on here with his power cutting off. His gears are so short idk if he's acc utilizing the power for 3rd and 4th gears. Yes I hear the power gets cut but still. Maybe that's why it's cutting off power
