I'm fairly sure the change to Pocketcat's room when Daan takes on the mantle is supposed to represent the crime scene where Elise and her father were murdered.
I think relating the second book to logic specifically actually works really well. Reila was literally a rebel who ran away from home because she thought she could put an end to the kaisers plan. I guess then that begs the question, did she venture out on her own terms like we've been told... or was some greater force, perhaps the god she replaced, leading her to become logic. The gas mask Turkilo wears is also an interesting detail since the story is seemingly set in a grimms fairytale kinda setting (if not one that parallels the outside world) so what's with the gas mask? to wildly speculate, I see it as representing war. Not necessarily that Turkilo is an old god of war or anything (he'd get rolled by the big GG), I mean that it was the Kaisers war that drove Reila to act, make of that what you will. I definitely hope that, since logic will likely be the next games Rher/Sylvian/Gro Goroth, Turkilo get's to be the next game's god of the depths/logic, the next god to be replaced by an ascended god. At the very least I want to learn more about how he fits into the pantheon, since I never knew he had a symbol that suggests he's a god... that's just kinda wild
amazing video as always, the sheer depths of the lore you get into and the connections you make are honestly impressive:D also very good choice for the new channel name, keep up the good work man:)
The idea of rher being a guard sounds like a lot of fun. Imagine for a moment that he left his traces above earth because he went close to the green hue to fight off a big threat unbeknownst to the threat the sulfur god was inflicting.
Rher serving both as jailor against humanity's ascension, while also serving as its guard against other reality-warping cosmic beings. Now isn't that a thought... I suppose the irony of it is only befitting of a trickster. Never thought about the idea of "living stories" before. I didn't even realize the Skin Granny and ronteals had stories about them, nor had I thought abut the Crow Mauler being a "possession" in the more traditional sense. Very, very interesting.
Incredible work as always, always a dopamine spike whenever you upload ! Youre so informative and do your research so thoroughly, best Ive ever seen of this game. Thanks for being on YT
The impression I always got is that Rher hated and resented the potential of humanity to rival the gods. In the first game, he sends his favorite servant to try and disrupt the girls change into an ascended God. Beyond that, I think the creature preying on children isn’t just because they’re weak and easy to kill, it’s to drive fear of the unknown into humans and to limit the boundless potential that children can represent.

Love all your lore videos and this one is definitely no exception! Rher’s minions are basically what happens to a person when exposed to the Green Mist, but Pocketcat is special in that Rher is able to exploit that fact to his advantage. Technically Dan IS Moonscorched, it’s just that there is literally no difference. It’s really fascinating! My hot take on Pocketcat’s particular brand of evil is that they represent what the God Hand member Slan does in Berserk: “deviant sexuality.” Pocketcat must hate people at their core in order to serve Rher, which is why Dan is the perfect candidate for recruitment. The fact that Rher uses his minions to interfere with the world (disturb causality) because he is incapable of doing so points to this too. While humanity takes action, Rher and most of the Older Gods pre-All Mer have proven that they can’t (they create.) Out of curiosity, wasnt the original cover for this video with pocketcat with his eyes open? I kight habe misremembered, but i feel like it was either changed or i must have jumped timelines.
My theory is that prior to the ascension of All-Mer, the death of the Sun god coincided with the death of Rher. When All-Mer ascended, it became his light which shone from the Sun above and which reflected off the surface of the Moon.
Im pretty sure dan says hed bring olivia to a dance and she accepted, and when he turns into pocket cat, those words are enough to allow him to bring her there no?
This is incredible. I've suddenly become quite ill one day before my birthday just a few weeks after recovering from months of surgeries and treatment, and watching this all fucked up and sore, realising how well it fits has been the most fascinating experience in thinking about truths, believes and how one's mund can affect the world and your view of it. My spelling may be poor due to bleary eyes, 4am sight and a phone keyboard. This puts together a lot about the Cat, Crow Mauler and the rest. You mentioned not knowing the origin of the Skin Granny when discussing God's but in it's tale there is talk of it coming out The Dark. The God of the Depths is one with domain over The Dark, or The Black as it is both called in the two entries of the series and it similarly twists and warps beings into facimilies of themselves as the moonlight does. Crow Mauler, Moonless, The Guards, even to an extent Henryk, O'saa telling you that the source of the awful feeling ij the Mayor's Mansion is the pulsating organs that we know bear a striking resemblance to the Heart's of the Depths. Henryk, the one who we find going mad in way maybe familiar to cases seen in the first game, that may have made him... Particularly susceptible to the moon's gaze? Anyway, i am off track. Depths has a clear affiliation with darkness, the black. The deeper you go the worse it gets. And the tale we encounter like the others is able to get this across, even if it may not entirely be accurate in ascribing intention to the apparition or its master...
This is such an excellent point .... Thinking of the dungeons of fear and hunger as being a "festival of the depths" so to speak, with it's influence being so tied with rher... both dead, mysterious old gods whose influence transforms and ruins humans. thinking as well of the depths as the void that rher sits in leads to a lot of interesting implications too...... Much to think about.....
In Russia there is a casual fraise, said by moms, preparing NewYear treats form same-name Eve, to children trying to grab something. "Do not touch yet, that is for New Year". Appearance of that video give same vibes for me)
something to add is that the two living stories who manifest in the real world threw physical hosts still possess mostly humanlike bodies, with the main exception being their heads, as if they are wearing masks(similar to the animal masks of the cults) which match up with the idea of them as stories, after all how does a human embody a story? by dressing up in a costume and playing the part as an actor, the two that dont manifest physically dont match this, because they are in dream realms, stories in dreams require no actors to play the part, however the skin granny has a perverted inversion of this, taking your face to wear as a mask(which could be some representation of her claiming your body as her host in the waking world, she wears your mask as you wear hers) and while the rontiels arent stated how they manifest, it is stated they use their victims fear, so its possible they similarly posses people once they give in to it this would also mean both the latter group likely have more humanlike forms in the waking world, while the former have more monstrous dream forms, this is even somewhat supported by the two headed crowmauler in the gauntlet, being one step away from the physical world and thus one step closer to its true dream form, which would certainly be a fun superboss, pocketcats inhumanly proportioned form you see when daan gets possessed may also be something approaching his true spiritual form, this also matches with the pocketcat from the story, who is repeatedly described as inhumanly large while the pocketcat seen in game doesent seem to be particularly tall, at least not abnormally so

YES YES THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS IVE BEEN DYING TO KNOW HIS LORE FOR A WEEK STRAIGHT RAAAAAAA IM GOING TO ENJOY WHILE I WORK
13:32 I think you can also interpretate that pocket cat might me refering to Karin as the extroverted artist, Olivia as the introverted artist and perhaps somewhat Daan when he talks about the third kind
Its kind of ironic how the moon guided humanity in the darkness but here the moon guides them in to the darkness
Incredible narrator characterization, good job as always
Out of curiosity, wasnt the original cover for this video with pocketcat with his eyes open? I kight habe misremembered, but i feel like it was either changed or i must have jumped timelines.
My theory is that prior to the ascension of All-Mer, the death of the Sun god coincided with the death of Rher. When All-Mer ascended, it became his light which shone from the Sun above and which reflected off the surface of the Moon.
Im pretty sure dan says hed bring olivia to a dance and she accepted, and when he turns into pocket cat, those words are enough to allow him to bring her there no?
LONG LIVE MAUTHEDOOG
This may be the best video on this channel. Legitimately.
ayeeee amazing vid as always mate !!! I absolutely love your work keep it up 💕

You have a really good voice for Pocketcat, if there were to be a Fear and Hunger thing that required voice acting you're like up on that list lol
Heyyyy didn't expect any more lore vids, thanks!
Sooooo looking forward to recording more of these same gameplay clips to practice voice acting Pocketcat! Cool stuff @MYTHONICS !
Pocketcat is actually the real main villain of funger. I called it.
15:30 JUMPSCARE ANXIETY INTENSIFIES
GOATED CONTENT CREATOR
Been waiting for this one quite awhile. Great vid 🔥
I like how people are obsessed with this cat. Lets see for how long
damn what a great video and analysis, such an interesting character, he's so freaky i love him
That was an absolute fantasy video. I enjoyed the methodical nature of all of this. It was fascinating. Thank you for making it 🙏😄
the pocketcat situation is insane
New channel name? NEAT!
"Why do you like pocket cat?" Cause he's just a silly little guy that sometimes gets a little too silly
Huh
@@diobrando6177 you heard them he's just a silly guy
Great video as always MYTHONICS
😉~☆
In Russia there is a casual fraise, said by moms, preparing NewYear treats form same-name Eve, to children trying to grab something. "Do not touch yet, that is for New Year".
Appearance of that video give same vibes for me)
something to add is that the two living stories who manifest in the real world threw physical hosts still possess mostly humanlike bodies, with the main exception being their heads, as if they are wearing masks(similar to the animal masks of the cults) which match up with the idea of them as stories, after all how does a human embody a story? by dressing up in a costume and playing the part as an actor,
the two that dont manifest physically dont match this, because they are in dream realms, stories in dreams require no actors to play the part, however the skin granny has a perverted inversion of this, taking your face to wear as a mask(which could be some representation of her claiming your body as her host in the waking world, she wears your mask as you wear hers) and while the rontiels arent stated how they manifest, it is stated they use their victims fear, so its possible they similarly posses people once they give in to it
this would also mean both the latter group likely have more humanlike forms in the waking world, while the former have more monstrous dream forms, this is even somewhat supported by the two headed crowmauler in the gauntlet, being one step away from the physical world and thus one step closer to its true dream form, which would certainly be a fun superboss, pocketcats inhumanly proportioned form you see when daan gets possessed may also be something approaching his true spiritual form, this also matches with the pocketcat from the story, who is repeatedly described as inhumanly large while the pocketcat seen in game doesent seem to be particularly tall, at least not abnormally so
I watched most of the video, completely entranced with it. No clue what in the world is being talked about, until Chaugnar showed up on screen and I somehow recognized it. I scoured TH-cam and found out I already watched a half an hour video on this game with Pocketcat on the thumbnail. But still I have no clue whats happening or anything about this game. Looking forward to watching more
i like how each god's cult reflect their masters, sulfur followers are batshit insane, moon god followers are postured, charismatic and even distinguished, as they follow the trickster
such levels of peak design truly make me fungry
I am loving this, especially the art. 🎉
I can't help but wonder if Living Stories will get expanded upon in F&H3. The internet would be a perfect breeding ground for them through memes and such.
Pocketdiddy loves festivities
Omg i just got his name, its the type of an adult toy...
PEAKKKKKKK ONE HOUR OF PEAKK
oh this is mauthedoog I was wondering how I was subscribed to this channel
