Thank you for sharing It brings lots of nostalgia to me They were exported to Peru in the 70s, my grandfather(rip) and uncles drove them for years, I can't never forget the sound
Hey Mike! It’s Andrew from St. Peterbilt. Great to see you yesterday bud! That bus is as amazing as you told me wow! I don’t think i could have passed up buying that too if i had the chance to purchase it. Greatness! I love it. Glad its in the hands of yourself because it will get the love it needs to hopefully survive another 70 years! Hope to see ya soon buddy.
You cannot rent it out for enough to cover what the public would do to it. I run a charter service and people will destroy your coach unless you or a driver watches them like a hawk.
Prevost, a GREAT example of how bad people really are can be found on the public transportation system in Atlanta called MARTA, that is IF you can stand the filth and urine smell on their trains and buses that will almost overwhelm you. I've only ridden it once when I was passing through there and I said then I'd NEVER do it again!
Very nice bus. Was it always a blue and white color or is that the previous owner's color scheme? A lot of the diesel powered vehicles may one day not be allowed to be driven on the highways :(. Climate change an all. Also the price of fuel has skyrocketed so would cost a fortune to drive very far in these big old buses. Thanks for giving us a peek at it.

Hi, I might update the furniture. The interior was built by the second owner and his wife. They then lived in it in a R.V. park in San Diego for 30 years. The craftsmanship is better than I could do in a remake. The third owner didn't change a thing, honoring the vision of the second owner. I think some things are better left alone.
Ewww... no. Just no. If you don't like vintage don't buy vintage. People ruin a good thing by "updating" the interiors. What we think is cool today, will be hideous and dated tomorrow. Unless it's a classic.
Just a question. How are you dealing with the new CARB rules, or are vehicles this old exempt? Beautiful.. would be a shame to have to put in a CARB permitted engine, if there is one that can be put in. That is one of the reasons that my former employer no longer runs out to the coast. He just could not see the expense of having to but new trucks to just cover such a small part of his business, just not economic. The powers that be seem to want to drive most businesses out of the state, and then who is going to transport all of the freight that runs through, or originates, the state???? 'Axe
If he wants to see his money WASTED and a beautiful bus destroyed then his plans to rent it out will do just that in a very short time, that is after they steal everything that's not bolted down! I hope he has better sense but.....

@@falconmike6485, I cannot believe you'd take a such a high risk chance with such a beautiful piece of history. Renters can be, and most are, nothing short of animals. It's not theirs so they don't care.
I love the old stuff! I used to love greyhound bus lines when I was a kid! Especially the double decker pd4501

I really like this video kudo's to you
Stunning!!! Absolutely stunning!

One more comment. Just love the sounds of that engine as you go through the gears, eating up highway.

It's nice to see the original drivetrain used.
She drives great
Lenny would love to meet her.
Ya gotta love the sound of those Screaming Jimmys!.........6-71 2 Stroke Detroit the Original Green Diesel!
They put those power plants in everything.
Nice bus
Looks like all it needs is to have the wheels and sides polished out and maybe change the canister filters to spin ons
Great ideal !! Let me know when you can come over and to that work to her. Thanks Mate

Very nice. Can’t believe I didn’t see any oil leaks!
The first time I drove the bus we were bringing her home. We stoped for lunch, I looked under the bus upon return, not a drop of oil on the ground.
Looks like one ol Dove owened before he passed
Sweet
Now i want a silverside Greyhound bus...lol
You need a big garage to park one in.
i was wondering what make and model and year of
your reel to reel is. To me it looks like it might be a roberts or a akai crossfield reel to reel
cat fleas, that's exactly what it is. If memory serves me correctly, only Roberts and Akai had that.
Did you know that Greyhound name and company originally is from Australia?
Did Greyhound use this coach in service in California or where?
"She IS gorgeous"
nice
Beautiful bus if you every decide to sell please reach out
to another Historic restoration specialis
looks like a teak reel to reel
You mean TEAC? They're still around.
How many people would know how to drive it today?

You need some tire brite on those tires to make the Silverside stand out.
I really like the tour, but I wish you had used 360p resolution.
I will try that on the next video.
😂🤣360 p would be like 8 mm film blurred out.

I'm trying to sell a 1947 Greyhound silverside. Any suggestions about how to reach interested people.
All depends on what it is your selling. send some pics to tbrink554@gmail.com
My friend recently sold one on Facebbok market place. Worth a try. They are sought after.
Have you sold it yet kathy? I'd be interested in it!
Mine was listed on Craigs List.
@@falconmike6485 Craigslist is where I found mine also.
they make busses different, i ride them sometimes, but they dont make them better than yours
Beautiful bus why don’t you clean the engine ?
That dated interior would have to go
Mostly everybody that goes inside the bus for a look loves that dated interior and the craftsmanship that went into building it
Now everything is plastic crap. incredible bus
Art Vandalay Extremely expensive plastic too.
beautiful beautiful. I would strip out the interior and update it.

WHO in their right mind would want anything to do with such a screwed up state? They, like New York, are their own worst enemy.
I like the modern design of the coach, it’s a real classic but that dated interior has got to go.
