Awesome game! One of the best of last year ;)
The biggest hidden gem of 2020. A massive game took me 40hrs to beat and loved every part of it, the only advice I would give is that if you don’t like difficult games you won’t like this one. I heard they reduced the difficulty via a patch but I have not played it after this patch. Deserves a lot more fanfare than it has.

Such a cute game I'm not sure sure about the combat but everything else looks really nice. Its a shame about it missing out on promotions it's really sad to hear they missed out due to corona.

Is the difficulty reasonable? hope it's not as hard as zelda 2 hated that game as a kid. Weird this game isn't on any euopean switch stores must be USA only
Apparently it will be released everywhere else in a few weeks. It’s self published as things fell through overseas
It can be tough at times but is mostly manageable!
I picked it up on release and have been slowly chugging through it, I'm not very far in. So far, though, the difficulty has been really spiky. You'll be doing just fine and then suddenly hit a wall. There's no auto save nor checkpoints either so it's possible to lose a bit of progress. Still a super enjoyable game so far though!
@@brianwilliams7081 Part of the difficulty comes from mechanics that I wish were spelled out more for the player. For example, most enemies don't hurt to touch, only when they attack you. (This helps with the slime boss, who it helps to run past sometimes.) Also, buying honey brew or drops is a must for boss fights so you don't run out of stamina while wailing on them. Some people don't like the stamina system but I do have to say, once you finally upgrade enough beyond the frustratingly small amount you start with, it feels fulfilling. Same with fishing. I hated not being able to catch the big ones at first, but when I finally could, I felt like a boss.

And just like Zelda 2 you fight with something akin to a butter knife! Are there any weapon upgrades? That range is terrible. Otherwise this looks like a great game.
Yes you do collect plenty of upgrades bombs and ranged weapons!
I wonder why the marketing for this game wasn't well done. He and the team put in all this effort to make this fantastic game and then come this March he just throws in the towel...

I get it's demoralizing to watch all your heart and soul go nowhere but quitting isn't the answer. They don't even do anything with their Twitter account. It might be a ghost town there but they should do SOMETHING...
Phoenotopia in Japan has a few users that love the game and regularly tweet about it, meanwhile it's just tumbleweeds from the official Twitter account... post screenshots, memes, videos ANYTHING...
And seriously, he did most of his blogging and promoting on Tumblr... who even still goes there?
I don't want to fault him too hard but it sounds like he didn't try hard enough to push this game and a lot of the staff didn't even make minimum wage off it.
We can only hope that it does well in Japan but seeing as he already threw in the towel, Japan would have to sell quite a few copies of the game to get him motivated again.
That is unfortunate with such an excellent game. We do know that the publisher was sadly lost pretty late into things. It's a game that deserves to be discovered and played!
