Don't sleep on that Tincup 10 year it is excellent.
Hey TJ, Addison from J’s here. Thanks for stopping by- wish I had had a bit more time with you, would have loved to show you a couple more bottles. Cheers, and thanks for stopping in!
Man, 4 EH Taylors just casually sitting at msrp. Must be nice 😭
Just paid 110.00 for one😅
@americanmonster8342 I live in Seattle, literally the worst state to bourbon hunt. Cheapest I've seen is 149.99 before our ridiculous state tax 😭
@@freighter1097which part of IL? I can’t find it anywhere in the NW of IL
Never in Indiana
@@Spencer_SheaSpokane is rough too. I’ve found a few places where I can get MSRP but shipments to start the year have basically been nonexistent. And yes, we need to vote to get rid of the garbage since tax.
Bubba is rocking a killer mullett.
Absolutely! That is a majestic Kentucky waterfall he’s got.
Majestic is an understatement
Bubba needs a Ford Ranchero to complete the look.
And a white tank top
Can’t believe I just watched an “expand your liqour cabinet” video and Old Forester wasn’t mentioned one time. Justice for old forester gang
Right!?? I was shouting the whole time! 1920! 1910! Bottled in Bond! Statesman!
My current favorite company
Going bourbon hunting with Kenny Powers. Legendary!!
Those kids missed out on that 1792 BiB store pick. That stuff is absolutely fantastic
I'll check it out.
It was good seeing you and the gang there! Thanks for letting me get a pic with you, Jill, and Will!
Our pleasure!
TinCup 10 year, the one he grabbed in the video is a great introduction to what a whiskey can be. Easy drinking and worth the asking price. This coming from someone that does not enjoy the regular TinCup by the way. The 10 year is a bottle I always try to keep around.😎🥃
Tincup 10 is fantastic for 40 bucks I’d take it all day over those Weller SRs
I agree wholeheartedly
Totally agree.
😵👎😉
Spent a couple days in Athens and lucked upon J’s. Had a great time with Addison, great personality and could tell he really loved talking about Bourbon. Super knowledgeable but not pushy, just helpful and I don’t regret any of the bottles I walked out with.
Hey, that’s me! My name is Addison, though. Cheers, and I’m so glad you enjoyed J’s and the bottles I recommended. Come back again soon!
@@lulzIridetheshortbus sorry I misheard in the video. Fixed it. Will definitely swing by when back in town!
The EH Taylor “casually” sitting on the shelf hurt man
Bottom shelf at that!
Its a bottle. How else would it be sitting there besides casually?
Not a GA fan but those boys were cool. Great video Brewzle!!
super cool guys!
I love all your videos but the bourbon hunts are far and away the best thank you TJ
The barrel selections have been fun.
He is ROCKIN' the 80's mullet!! GO Gators!!!
Tin Cup 10 or 14 year is pretty good if you see them in the wild 😊
That mullet. Absolutely tremendous. Business in the front. Party in the back.
Tin Cup 10 is excellent!
Love all the tincup stuff. The 14 year for $66 is insane for a 14 year whiskey
I love all the bourbon hunting videos… let’s get more of them ❤
Kings family distillery light whiskey is the one!!!!!!! should’ve grabbed it
Tate and Chad! Dawg nation will miss Chad! Best video yet and GO DAWGS!
This is just awesome! I love showing and discussing bourbon with new sippers. I also LOVE them DAWGS!!! Perfect Saturday evening video for myself.
“Use that NIL money I don’t care “ lmao 😂😂😂😂😂
EHT on the shelf…so good! 👍
Bowman Brothers Small Batch is absolutely wonderful! It's one of my daily sippers and you can't beat the price.
The mullet is killing it! Bro is a god!
First off, go dawgs. Happy you had a good time in Athens. Great bourbon hunting in the area. Tall Boy on south milledge has some of the craziest allocated stuff in the area, but the markup is insane.
Filibuster got caught and fined $700,000 for dumping over 40,000 gallons of industrial waste into a creek next to their distillery in 2021. I'm not a tree hugger, but that's no bueno in my book and therefore I choose not to buy their products.
Yeah that is very much no bueno and a no go for me, and I’m about as much of a tree hugger as it gets. They’re joining Makers on my no go list. (And Makers is only on my no go list because their normal distributed-everywhere “bourbon” is more jet fuel than actual bourbon IMHO.)
I can get behind this
@@BJWanlund What's wrong with Makers exactly? I haven't bought it in a while and it was one of my first straight, tasted like salty gasoline. heh
@@fusion210 basically just what you said: it tastes more like rubbing alcohol than bourbon!
Hey man thanks for that info, will make sure to avoid them
Wouldn't call it sharpie but there's an off tannin flavor I've found in Elijah Craig barrel picks, I mostly get small batch.
Totally agree on the Elija Craig 'off' note.
I could listen to you chirp at those boys about Auburn all day! Great video man
Also watching you get recognized and not the ball players made me laugh out loud
Great content as usual, glad to see all the stores were welcoming.
Good on ya Brewzle, taking those College boys out teaching them the Bourbon knowledge. Big thumbs up.
That mullet is amazing! Hell yeah brother.
These 2 guys asked good questions that brought out some good information for a newer bourbon guy. Hope their football carriers take off!
Dang you TJ... exposing all of my hunting spots!! 🤣😂Glad you scored a few bottles.
That 110 proof Clyde Mays absolutely shocked me how good it was. Highly recommend!
Finding EH Taylor at or near MSRP is always a must grab. Everybody got a bottle 😂. Love your content!
No kidding. I'd buy EVERY bottle!
Brewzle is in fact THE Bourbon Master!
I can't watch one of these videos without going shopping afterwards. Wife is telling me to lay off of buying any more bottles but she is going out of town this weekend and Im sure I can hide one or two in the mix.
21:19 so what im hearing is dont give up on Pinehurst 😂
That Filibuster is great! Visited the distillery in the blue ridge mountains in Virginia recently and got to try it. Really good stuff and highly recommended!
That Clyde May red bottle is great!!
Anything from kings family distillery is really great. Just got a 17 year 147.7 proof bourbon that is my fav
Holy hazmat ⚠
Also beer barrel bourbon TJ, Gotta give it a shot!
I saw some yams
Definitely try the Tincup 10 yr. Great value everyday drinker.
The Single barrel Rye sitting at 132.9 proof is a spectacular bottle. Has an apple pallet with a vanilla honey finish.
I also noticed in this video almost every store had smoke wagon products that got overlooked. The uncut unfiltered is one of my absolute favorites
That Woodford Double Oak store pick is great! I really like Turtle Creek, they have a good selection.
They had a great selection of kings bourbon line at turtle creek
Brewzle, can't thank you enough for spurring the "hunting" phase of my bourbon hobby. Here on Long Island, NY it can be very hit or miss. The unicorns and allocation stuff seem to be more readily available but the pricing fluctuates from place to place. Got EHT & Eagle Rare for slightly above MSRP from a place around me so I consider it a win, especially since they were both the last bottles in stock at this place for that price. Felt great! A nice rush. It's an expensive hobby but an enjoyable one lol.
Old Bardstown 101 became one of my personal favorites lately. Willett does have good product outside of the Potstill Reserve, Rowan’s creek and Noah’s Mill.
Appreciate the visit to Athens! Some damn good Dawgs with ya!
The Kings Family Distillery cast strength is WAY underrated. Worth a try
My local Total Wine has calumet 15 for $100 and I can’t get enough at that price. Love it
Just sampled that Pure Kentucky while at the Willett distillery this past week. Great stuff…especially for the price!
Moonrise up in north GA has a fantastic snow cream if you get a chance. Miles above Bailey's. Their bourbon is pretty decent.
Great episode. Love it. Come to CT, TJ. Be well brother.
Nice Stores in Georgia , I would pass out if I could walk in a store here in South Louisana and Find Eagle Rare and EH Taylor just sitting on the shelf , maybe one day .... Thanks
I bought a bottle of 4 roses single barrel because of you and absolutely love it
Those Old Soul Tintype Series bottles are pretty good too… saw a couple in J’s I think
They are AMAZING! Not biased at all, by the way 😂. Sincerely, Tintype Series 1 was the best bottle I had in 23
At 36 minutes he mentions no other wilderness trail sourced barrels at full proof however Luca Mariano has done quite a few wilderness trail sourced barrels at cask strength. Ive happened to get a handful of them around 61.9% and 7 years 7 months old.
You Americans with your brown paper bags, you’re legends 😂
As a winemaker like with whiskey people get mad at our prices but they have to realize that we have a fixed cost of production to acquire the grapes, pay off all the ingredients needed, yeast and etc and pay for barrels or oak adjuncts and then when we go to sell the wine we have to pay the feds Taxes at that point. Which means that our prices are quite literally what we have to get to make a profit and people come in to the winery and try and negotiate and im like you cant negotiate if you dont like the price then dont buy it we are making in some cases $5-6 a bottle the margins can be razor thin and we have to pay every state we sell the wines in for a license to sell in that state and that adds a lot of upfront yearly costs its like $40-60k for just licensing fees.
No one is complaining about market rate prices. It's when you see bottles that are clearly marked up which gets people angry. Ex: Stagg Jr is literally $36 bottle cost but a store near me has it for $300.
Man missed out you being in Athens! My Alma mater and favorite town next to my hometown. Glad found some good finds
Better late than never been dealing with family issues this week but finally got to watch the video another great one.
GREAT HUNT , I WISH WE HAD THOSE STORES HERE IN ALABAMA
Love the Tin Cup. Discovered it maybe 2 years ago and currently have 4 in the house. Well 3. Finished one. Where I am I only have access to the blue label bottle but sooo good for a cheaper pour. Straight or mixed. Great everyday
wow EHT on shelf for msrp. such a great find.
The Clyde May's 6 year Reserve is fantastic.
Caribou Crossing has a great mouthfeel and initial taste with instant finish. A very mellow enjoyable sipper when I am in the mood. I only go through 1 or 2 bottles of it a year normally occasionally 3.
Picked up a Knob Creek 18 for $145 this past weekend. Also got a JMCB for $185 and a backup Jameson 18 for $110.
If I am paying $300 or more it is for Irish or Scotch, I have not had a bourbon or rye I would pay that for a bottle. I loved Boss Hog but would not pay $250 for it never mind $500 or $600.
I drink and share all my bottles
I have 2 store picks for Kings wheated coming soon. Excited to try them.
Turtle Creek is right by my mom's house. Love stopping in there every time I make the trip from Opelika!
Tincup, great mixer. Wife loves it, guilt free cocktail. Sips fine, just not much there, with a uick clean finish. It is a good price point here in AR
Cazcanes, Padre Azul, Don Fulano, Volcan De Mi Tierra and Mijenta bottles at the ABC store are great tequila choices 😬
Missing out on the Moon Rise stuff! Some of my favorites
Shenks just chilling right next to that Knob 18….grab the Shenks!
Tin cup 14 is great for a 90 proffer. Tons of flavor
Definitely should have grabbed that Kings light whiskey at J’s. I have a 15 year hazy mat and it is delicious!
Coach 'em, COACH! Great job!
Tincup 10 year. is fantastic. I should be trying the 14-year-old here soon.
Eagle Rare is hard to find in the PNW. Got close, but most liquor stores sell out within minutes.
I've been curious about the Kings Wheated. Hope to see you try it in a future video!
35:41 convo had me rolling 😂😂😂
I don't really go for a lot of lower proof bottles but the Tincup 10 year has great flavor for the proof.
The Tin Cup 10 yr is amazing. You need to try it ASAP!!
Man, I’m kinda new to bourbon but I haven’t ran up on a deal like y’all just did with the EH Taylor. That’s awesome!
I have that Larceny barrel proof a124. It’s spice forward, and the finish is wonderful and long lasting. It’s a really good pour in my opinion. I would love an EH Taylor though.
I am just happy to see the Mullet make it’s return
At about 22:30 in, you point out a Knob 18.... just a couple of bottles further down - is that a Shenk's?? Man... one of the best Michter's products out there, if that's what it was. And you walked right on by.....
Good eye, it 100% is. Idk if I’d pull the trigger at $200 tho. I think MSRP is around 100-110. I can get an M10 for a little bit over 200 lol
Wish I could get those 1792 bib in Rockford IL. I seen that they had alot of them at the west side bottle shop
Tin Cup good! The rye!
I loved the Remus highest rye bourbon. The tin cup 10 year bourbon was a nice surprise. It was so much better than I tbought.
Tin Cup Fourteener Bourbon is pretty good if you can scoop one up!
31th colony is a great pour for sure. I just bought a rye cast strength 130. proof Dist, only and its great
Get the moonrise next time you're in Georgia! It's a distillery in Clayton, Ga, and I believe they distill and age their own bourbon. The select bourbon is a solid choice!
Need to pick up that Nulu double toasted - it was right there!
Finally, you picked up a hill rock (NY). Look forward to hearing the thoughts on it
Kings county started with small barrels. So their older stock is small barrels. But for years now they’ve been using full size barrels
Tin cup is nice. I couldn't tell you any notes cuz i had it when i was first getting into whiskey but it was good enough for me to drink neat back then
I can't speak on the specific bottles you were showing, but if you EVER find wilderness trail rye single barrel barrel strength over 110 proof, give it a try. It was bottled under the barrel master that later left to dark arts. The 105-110s are after he left. I'm young into this culture, but that is the first (only) bottle that I first characterized as delicious. So delicious I have given rye much more attention.
