Just want to say. I watch alot of cooking videos on youtube and i think i like yours the best. Camping and dutch ovens whats not to love. You seem like youd be a cool dude to hang out with. That also knows how to cook good food. Keep the videos comin man. Im watching them.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that :-) Cooking in the Dutch oven and cooking outdoors is the best. My wife Jenny and I have so much fun cooking and making these outdoor videos. Have a great day. Thanks for watching on your comment.

Thank you. Camping season is right around the corner and I’ll break out the camp chef and cook up some good stuff :-) thanks for watching and your comment
Thanks brother. I couldn’t believe how good they were. Cooking the bacon and using the grease to cook the potatoes in was awesome. Cheers to you guys also.
That looked awesome. Got a question. How many coals will I need to get2-3 inches of oil in a 10 inch Dutch Oven, to 350 degrees? , and a 14 inch Dutch Oven as well
Thanks MeatHead. Just set the Dutch ovens on a full bed of coals. 20 for 10" and 30 for 14". It will probably take 30-40 minutes for oil to reach 30. I light extra so I can shove more under if I need to also because of burn down. You can put a few coal on top if you want just don't put to many. maybe 10 and 14. If you let what you are cooking get to room temperature before ypou put it in the oil the oil temperature won't drop as much and it will stay hotter longer once you start cooking. Once you get it up to temp since the time has passed to can put the dutch oven on a new bed of coal when you start cooking also.
It did'nt think of this early but here is 2 videos I have done when using oil to cook. Have fun brother/ th-cam.com/video/v-yOo_XlL0Q/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/5vj4clDqZZQ/w-d-xo.html
Hi, The potatoes were not pre-cooked. I had 3 layers in a deep dutch oven and they cooked for about an hour so depending on how many layers you do adjust from there. Generally any potato dish in a dutch oven cooks in 45 - 60 minutes at 375-400 degrees. Thanks for watching, you comment and your question. Greetings from Idaho, USA. Have a great day!!
Yes. Just Google Dutch Oven Temperature chart. An easy way to remember temperature is for 350 degrees you minus 2 from the size for the Dutch Oven for the bottom and add 2 to the size of the Dutch Oven for the top. ( 12 inch Dutch Oven would be 10 on bottom and 14 on top) To up the temperature to 375 just add 2 more to top for 400 degrees add 2 more on top ect. If you are cooking below 350 you will use less on bottom and top. Once you see a chart this will make more sense. Thanks for asking. I hope it helped. Have a great day.
Hi Dave, I just use warm water and scrub with a dish rag. The make scraper you can buy to get tough stuff off or I have used a wooden spoon or such. If your food starts sticking a lot you need to season your Dutch Oven. Here is a video I made on cleaning your Dutch Oven. We were camping and cold water worked fine also. Thanks for asking. Have a great night. th-cam.com/video/REQ_XUlVPgw/w-d-xo.html
I would skip salting it since the bacon and cheese carry enough of it already. Looks great!
