I went to Universal in 2013 and I cried when I saw Betty. She's been my favourite since I was a kid thanks to my mom. Having a photo with her made my day!

Being able to sing and dance used to be just as much a requirement in showbiz as acting and I can't help but feel not being a master in all theatrical trades like these women really hinders how impressive some performances feel like. It's cool to know your stuff!
I noticed that a lot of the audience is Asian and if they’re an east Asian audience that’s kind of typical reaction with them. If you watch East Asian concerts with western artist/singers going overseas, you will notice that their audiences will typically, out of respect, not scream or sing along so everyone can actually hear the performance. It’s just a different mindset with how they enjoy music. Don’t worry about it. : )
gosh there was so much dancing and singing just in 10 minutes ! those girls worked hard ! its really hard to do tap steps and sing lyrics - cause you're working with two different beats in your brain

When I saw this show, the music cut out and they just said goodbye and left. They only performed for like 30 seconds and then Betty was like, “bye everyone! It was lovely to see you all!” I was very young at the time and was so confused.
yeah I met Betty back in ‘26. She was plenty fun, but not the sharpest knife in the drawer. She was the most vivacious, most animated girl I’ve ever known…boop boopa doop She taught me how to live in the moment, have fun. And Brooklyn.

To correct the misinformation in the comments: The first version of Betty Boop was an anthropomorphic dog in Dizzy Dishes. TikTok was spreading false info that she was inspired by a black jazz singer but the overall cartoon was inspired by the entire jazz scene and many different jazz artists. She however was a dog/person with big floppy ears. You can watch the cartoon on TH-cam :)

I don't want to say anyone did bad but that skirt is driving me nuts. I feel like the could've done a pencil style skirt that had yoke pleats on the front side and back seems with a pair of dance shorts. I guess they wanted shape but the skirt is giving me very much novice cosplayer 😭
Super agree. This dress is just a bad choice and not putting dance shorts under it is kind of a yikes. And that dress with that hat-wig thing.... yikes! I've seen cosplayers on a budget do better Boop cosplays than this.

Edit: Someone else said in another comment too that the dress had a built-in leotard which would actually make sense for a costume. I also think that she may even appreciate it herself so long as she's not prudish about these things. Dancing in it would be A LOT easier, clothes limit people more than one would thing there's a reason why gymnasts wear as little as possible. Probably way easier for her to dance in.
