I’m in agreement with the comments I’ve read below, & as a possible newbie myself, I have watched dozens of TH-cam videos, & apart from the Brother machines you recommended, I know from experience that Swiss made mechanical & electronic machinery are generally very well engineered & Reliable! So I’m considering either the Burnette B72 at £1200 (Embroidery only model) or the more expensive Bernette B79 at £1800 this model does both, What do you think, thank you 🙏 in advance. Sorry Lauren I forgot to mention that all Bernina & Bernette (both made in the same factory 🏭)machines come with a 10 year warranty! That’s very reassuring I think 🤔 Thanks again for your expertise.
You could be reading a manual on the internals of a nuclear reactor and I wouldn't care, I'd watch it a thousand times. I can't be the only one who couldn't concentrate during this video because of your beauty? You're an absolute knock out. Wow. Thanks for the embroider recommendations. I'm now going to watch every TH-cam video I can find with your angelic face in it.
The hardest part for me is finding a supplier. I want to start cheap and cheerful and only do small, I've seen a brother at around £600, but wouldn't mind buying a refurbished one. But from what I've seen all my "local" sewing stores only sell sewing machines and overlockers 🤣 looks like I may have to take the plunge. But thank you for this video, plenty of info and not too overwhelming 💜

My wife is researching machines. We have a local Bernina dealer we visited today. They have a VERY good class set up to teach you how to use the machines, they have an excellent selection new machines and a good selection of used machines. We looked at a nearly new P500 series which has a lot of nice features and only has 10 hours of use time. My wife loves sewing and we are pretty sure she's really enjoy doing embroidery for a hobby and maybe make some shirts for us for work and for my own vlog to sell for swag. I know Bernina is expensive but are they a good brand? The dealer we have locally has excellent, full service and a very strong clientele it seems. I want to support her hobby and I'd rather get her a machine she can grow into rather than one that she will out grow quickly. Does spending $2500.00 on a nearly new machine for a committed sewer make sense or no sense at all and this is a terrible idea? BTW, you have an excellent channel and after watching a few other channels doing some research to help her make the decision, I found this video the most helpful. Dave K
Read up on your dealers, some are simply selling or reselling and they don’t do repairs. Make sure that someone in your area does repairs OR understand that you may have to drive some distance should a repair be required. That said I’ve had no issue with any brand embroidery machine needing repair. Of the three repair shops in my area, one has an excellent record and repairs most machines, one has a dicey record and one has an excellent record, but fixes Berninas only. So you see there’s really only one choice unless you buy a Bernina, the next reputable repair shop is 50 miles further away and has a reputation for being slow on repairs. What do you think about wireless vs USB and Brothers artspira software?
Also is “Auto thread trimmer A real time-saver, the auto thread trimmer allows you to have your upper and lower threads cut for you, with just the touch of a button” The same as cutting the thread off while it embroiders during the process?
Hi! Thank you for your comments. I haven’t ever used the SE600 so can’t comment on how it is to use but it is an embroidery and sewing combination machine which means you’ll be able to use it for sewing as well which is great if you plan on sewing a lot but if not then you are paying extra for a feature you won’t use. It is a small 4x4 machine so you might find it’s embroidery capabilities really restricted as you can’t buy extension arms (as far as I’m aware) if you want to make larger designs you’ll need an embroidery machine with a larger stitching area. I would definitely recommend getting a machine with the auto cutting feature as it does save a lot of time as you don’t have to cut jump stitches yourself the machine does it for you as it embroiders. In regards to digitising software, check out my other TH-cam videos I go into detail on a software called embird and how to use it but it is only available for PC I’m not aware of any digitising software for iPads. Hope this helps :)
Thank you for the video! Does the digitize software come with the embroidery machine? Or it’s something I need to download on my computer? I want to embroider my own logo on the garment.
Finally someone from the UK! Are you Welsh? I’m also starting embroidery waiting for the machine to arrive next month. I already do HTV and screen printing can’t wait to get started with embroidery.

Hi, I think I found the same machine on hobby craft, and yes I think the website calls it the embroidery set because they include two hoops (120 x 180mm, 50 x 70mm) so that would be your sewing field/hoop sizes. I haven't heard it being called an embroidery set before but I'm pretty sure that's what they mean.

Love this video! Just brought a innovis f440e but I don’t think it has a thread cutter? I might be wrong as I haven’t physically got the machine yet but on some other TH-cam videos they don’t mention a thread cutter and they have to manually cut the threads away, could someone confirm this for me please? X
Hello! Thank you for your comment. Hello and thank you for your comment.
