Gidster1 If there isn’t a Tenor split, Bass 2 is often referred to as Low bass, or just bass. While Bass 1 is typically just Baritone without having another line written out.

I love that he's locked into the choir director. It doesn't matter that he's a pro, or a guest, because at that moment he's just another singer... a little more experienced, but still "just" a singer. Beautiful!
I find that's usually common with classically trained musicians, versus ones that go the "pop" route. Someone who's classically trained has literal decades of "watch the director" ingrained into them lol. I'm a classically trained violinist, but because of my years of playing as a full orchestra with a director, I just can't play soloist.
I love seeing the professionals sharing their time with the youngsters, helping and encouraging. I'm sure this was an awesome experience for these kids. I like how he blends his voice with theirs. Using the microphone, he is able to be the bass section by himself without overpowering them. It is a really great blend.
As a part of an acapella group it is essential you know how to blend. I didn't expect anything else from Avi.......i loooove his deep voice. In my opinion he blend to well ;)

He was actually trying to pick the tempo up because the tempo was dragging a bit and Avi being polished vocalist that he is was doing his best to move the tempo to where it was supposed to be.
Avi's low hallelujah's at the end is always my favourite part. I wish everything this man did with a mic could be professionally recorded from up close.

This is already a powerful and beautiful song but hearing a choir sing it with Avi brings me to tears. The little things like the kid keeps looking at him, Avi rocking to the rhythm and smiling.
What a voice! This man Avi, can sing anything, and beautifully!! I miss you in the Pentatonix, Avi! I thought that you were THE voice of the group!!! You are so blessed, that the angels are envious!!
I was actually part of this. It was at RCC(Riverside Community College). We had been working on the songs for the past couple months. It was a lot of of choir kids from Southern California. (Orange County, Irivine, Corna Del Mal)
This is an example of why we have to dig deep and support and fund our schools. The lessons learned in striving for this level of coordination and discipline are nearly impossible to duplicate without the kind of joy that doing so returns as incentive. The arts are not luxuries but assets that give way more than they cost.
The arts like band and chorus teach large team team work like no sport can. How any school administration can not see this as imperative to development for the future of our youth is beyond me. Our very society is becoming a team oriented workplace. Larger international teams comprised of smaller teams spread around the globe is modern and future business. Like sections of a band or choir, groups need to work together and listen to each other to perform at the overall peak as an entire unit. The arts teach this in a way no other academic pursuit can.
We *could* do without music, and then we wouldn't live forever.... it would just seem like it was taking forever. Why should those children whose genius is music and performance not be supported to become all they can be? Music captures our cultures, groups, history and aspirations. More power to the music teachers who fight to give every kid an opportunity to find their unique music.

The fact that Avi is so humble and such a compliment to their voices makes it so much better. What I wouldn't give to have been a fly on the wall that day. It melts me heart and soul....

Problem: Your Bass 2 section isn’t loud enough
Solution: Get Avi Kaplan
No high school bass can sing as low as avi
The only note that Avi can hit in this song that probably most of the bass 2s can’t, is the last note which is a Bb1
Gidster1 is bass two lower? I’ve never been in a large choir before. Just my church.
Kolten Kirk ya bass 2 is the lower part of bass when it’s split up
