    Thank you Rich! I always encourage people to build their own cars/trucks. You learn so much and have so much fun putting the puzzle together. Happy to see this becoming more available in the crawler segment of the hobby😎

    Love the build series. My two pennies: Hobbywing 1080, Holmes brushed motor, Flysky radio, Tattu 850mAh 3S - all scream budget & quality.

    • @ruftime

      Agreed John, I’ve got this setup with the 15t crawl master(12t out of stock). If you cut the sides and front of the “small” battery pocket, you can lower the front of the battery even more, so it sets just above the driveshaft for lower CG. I understand 5000 mah for long range fixed wing.....but silly for crawling and trail performance😎

    The other day i messed up with wires on mine and the video helped me make the remote do what it was supposed to do. Example: when i turned the wheel the car just went 0 to 20 in 000.000.1 seconds

    Hey Rich super excited to see this come together. Got back into RC after finding inspiration your Yeti Score build. I absolutely love the scale trophy truck but want a trail truck I can beat on a little more without worrying about replacing a hard to find part. After that $$$$ build I want something cheaper but dependable & plenty of LHS part support. This kit came highly recommended so patiently waiting to see what you do to it! Would be nice to see fully waterproof electronics while we’re at it!

    I did notice one mistake in the instructions of my unassembled kit, not sure if it's correct in the Sport kit or not. When attaching the servo horn, it tell you to put in a screw that is not long enough. I found this out the hard way by sheering the spline off the servo.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not terrible, but a little shy in the torque department, especially for a crawler. Take a look at the AGFRC A73CHLW - it's a powerhouse for about $50....but you'll need a BEC or an ESC that can handle higher voltage servos......this will be true for any upgraded servo you buy.....if you're in the market for an ESC, the Hobbywing 1080 is a direct drop in and includes a built in BEC for this type of servo

      @TheRCNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mentioned it later in the video....not a set amount as of now, but I will start tallying it during the series. My goal is to put the least expensive, quality part on the build that should last the lifetime of the truck. That is, I'd rather recommend a $35 servo that I know has a good rep. vs a $29 servo just because it is cheaper.

    • @TheRCNetwork

      For the quality of the kit, portal axles that are proven, part support, after market support, all metal links, best scaler shocks on the market (hell, people put these shocks on the VP truck), literally a $100+ body set, wheels/tires....the list goes on. Worst case, you can re-sell the wheels/tires and body set and it would take about $100 off the price of the kit. $280 is a bargain

    • @SteadfastRC
      @SteadfastRC 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheRCNetwork I would have to disagree with you on this rich as the Redcat gen 8 is only $19 more RTR, I think this is a little on the expensive side for what it is and I am a huge Traxxas fan. Great video as always!

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SteadfastRC It does have that extra Traxxas 20% vs other RC manufacturers.....The TRX-4 does give a good value for the pricing though. Durability, dependability, part support, engineering (TRX out did themselves on the TRX-4). Like I said in the later part of the video....just because something might be cheaper, it might not be the right value. I want to build an inexpensive truck I can recommend......and after countless battery packs on my TRX-4 chassis kit....I can recommend the Sport. Also, keep in mind, we will be outfitting the Sport with great value electronics....that you won't have to replace after a couple of runs unlike most RTR's......sorry for rambling. but as always, any RC is better than no RC.
