My Deco M4 was already arrived today and i used it now,Amazingly the WiFi coverage was great! it expands the signal, dead spots are fixed! Good job Deco TP Link.👍👍👍
I installed this system for my daughter recently. She’s only on 20 Mbps but they were so simple to install. No more dead zones, even in an adjacent workshop. Two things to watch out for (here in Ireland anyway). 1. When setting up, you’re asked to toggle on permission to connect to the LAN - that prompt is missing from the app. So just choose “I have already given permission”. All three units needed resetting. When first plugged in, they will not respond to a reset. Plug them in and leave them for a few minutes and they will then allow you to reset them. A fantastic system.
For clarity. I plugged one into the router and followed the instructions on the app to set it up. Then I set up a second one. What Im wondering though is afterwards, do I login to my ISP as usual or am I supposed to log into the "Deco" channel that appears in list of wireless channels? To be honest while I have seen a bit of improvement,. it is a very big house so I maybe should have got more nodes.
Nice video, thanks. Qurious about the connections from modem to Deco 1 and Deco 2 => modem - LAN cable 1 in Port 1 of Deco 1 - LAN cable 2 in Port 2 of Deco 1 and in Port 1 of Deco 2? Can i than connect a LAN 3 cable from Port 2 of Deco 2 into my laptop for example? Finally Deco 3 will indeed be without cable from Deco 2 But i can connect from Port 1 and 2 to other devices? Many Thanks and keep up the good work!
Thanks Ivo. I have 1 and 2 connected to the switch via Ethernet, not daisy chaining from AP to AP. The third one is connect as an extender. I set mine up as APs. There is also an option to setup the main AP to rout. In which case, one would need to use the and port on 1 as the access port to the Deco network.
@@TomsTechVerdict Thanks for the quick reply! I won’t use the switch But directly from modem into Deco 1 and Deco 2 through Ethernet. Should do the trick I believe🙂

@@best6070 As much as I would like to help, it is impossible to guess what exactly could be wrong in your setup. It would be a lot like calling the mechanic and saying, my car is not starting, why. It could be a lot of things. One of the first things I would look into, is frequency pollution on the Wi-Fi channel you are using.
Correct. I would say my expectations were met. A more powerful single Wi-Fi router will be able to provide a wider bandwidth, but for a budget mesh setup, the Deco M4 performs as expected.
Thank you for the video! But I have a question. Can I connect a Deco to my PC using the Ethernet port or it's exclusive for the connection between Decos?
Hi ElGüero. Yes you can, but mind you, the number of ports is limited. You can also hook up a 5-8 port small switch to it, if you want to connect multiple devices.
@@TomsTechVerdict I see! I'm going to begin just with my PC to see the performance of the Decos around my house. If I like the results, I'll get the port switch. Thanks you so much!
Hi, I only have one lan port working in my modem. I already have a wifi extender but i wanted to add another extender to my room. Is it possible to connect this device wired to my current extender? Thanks for your response. :)
Hi Achbarosh. The first device must be connected to your internet modem/router with an Ethernet cable. Then, if you chose to connect the remaining two satellite APs wirelessly, you can do so.
Hey Eric. My gaming rig is wired up, so in that sense, I do not have a real example. The Wi-Fi latency test I am running on the 2nd AP which is wired, returns 17-22 ms. The 3rd AP Wi-Fi latency test, which is not wired, is returning 28-35 ms. Considering, I get around 5-8 ms while wired, there is a bit of extra latency. These results will vary from day to day depending on different factors. I don't think it is a big deal, but some "demanding" games would not settle for anything more than single digit latency numbers.
After buying this product and getting Ethernet into my pc from the second point with out a wired back haul the product works great never have over 35 ping
I have not tested the AP network segregation, but I do not think they will work if connected to different LANs, that's more pro grade equipment like Meraki. But you maybe able to use them separately on completely different accounts.

Can I connect my old router with M4 mesh via ethernet wired. MY old router will be in first floor and new Deco M4 will be in second floor will that work??
@@PartyPancakes9000 I cannot, because it depends on several different factors. Such as, what is going to be in between the APs, what are the walls/floors made of, how much frequency pollution there is in the area, etc...
Hi, got a question if u don't mind answering I've currently got powerline adaptors wired to my ps4. If I buy the mesh, will using its ports and wiring to my ps4 do the same job If I wanted it wired will it do the same job. Or is one better than the other? (I'm buying the mesh to improve my general house WiFi) so wondering if I should use the ports and replace powerline adaptors
Hi Lord Gooner. Power line Ethernet adapters will always have loss of bandwidth, and that is a completely separate challenge to deal with. As far as these APs are concerned, as long as there is an active connection, they will work, regardless of what that connection goes through. If hardware compatibility is all you are concerned about, you should be fine. The only issue I have been experiencing with the Deco M4 set thus far, has been with Apple Homekit compatibility.
Just got mine today and set it up in an instant. I must say the performance was amazing! No more dead spots indeed.

I just wanna know that the main deco router will have the full speed from the modem or router that is Connected to by lan cable or not?

It has router functionality, and it can also be used only as access points. You will decide in the app how you want to use it.
Should I turn the deco off or it should be always on
If you want it always to work, it should always be on.
I like the commentary
So if it's not connected directly with the lan, it will not give me the full speed?
Afraid not, zero loss of bandwidth in such scenario is practically unavoidable even at relatively close proximity between two APs.
