    I upgraded my eero main system to Eero pro and still have one eero mesh, and use it mesh wifi and It got better on the range, speed, and speed contribution throughout my house.

      Steven Orquiza. this may seems like a silly question. I'm old school and not good at all these technology. Did you upgrade by updating your eero or did you buy an eero pro?

      Peter Sugar my main system was the regular eero 3rd gen but I upgraded to Eero Pro and kept the Eero 3rd gen as a mesh network

    Currently, the eero is $200 and the Deco M4 is $150. Sounds like the Deco M4 is the best choice, and $50 cheaper.

    You have to enabled the roaming in the settings for the tp -link

    I had the S4 but some devices wouldn't connect to the nearest unit. The only way I could get decent coverage was to put then in AP mode. Disabling mesh for individual devices in the app didn't work either. Also the cpu for each unit ramped up to 99% every 5-10 seconds.

      did you manage to find out what was causing the issue?

    • @M0SSUP
      @M0SSUP 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@djsamomol I looked on the tp-link forums and the best advice was to just run them in AP mode, devs didn't convince me they would fix anything with future updates. I sent them back and bought some eeros for £40 each off ebay, they aren't perfect but way better at assigning devices to the nearest unit and fast speeds once positioned correctly.

    The reason the eero doesn’t let you choose 2.4 or 5ghz is because it automatically selects the optimal connection for each device. So the fact you CAN choose the network type for the TP Link is actually a limitation of the system

    • @RTLV787
      @RTLV787 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matt Russell do you have the eero? If so are you getting your 5ghz speeds or comparable

    • @parisarnett87

      In theory but unfortunately most of the time it simply keeps it on the same frequency despite congestion.

    Very informative video post. I have Deco S4 and also Eero being installed on friday. Can I mix the two devices on the same network with only one modem? I have two of each device. Just happen to have. Thank you very much

      You don't have to use ethernet cables to connect them. You can use them wirelessly if you like.

    Eero is $250 currently. Worth it?

    • @FishBeeProductions
      @FishBeeProductions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To some people yes. The problem is there's so many variables with these systems and how your house is laid out. Good thing is if it doesn't work for you, you can return it. The TP link was better for my setup but it's not perfect.

    • @BrundonC
      @BrundonC 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      FishBee Productions I have a 105 year old home and in the front 2/3 it’s lathand plaster. The house is 25x75 so the routers have a hard time reaching all the way in the back. Recently I loved the router from the front room to the middle, but because there are so many dense walls and then being in the middle it’s right next to the air handler, a massive metal box. It still has issues getting to each room. Even centralized. Using a TP link onhub. I purchased the amazon unit because I can add one in the front, middle and rear, and being as I just dropped $800 on near cameras and doorbell, the Amazon 5 payment option is why I went that way. Here is to hoping it works! Each router will only need to be about 25-30ft from the other so I’m hoping it helps the issues and all my cameras get good signal.

    • @BrundonC
      @BrundonC 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      FishBee Productions currently I can pull 108 in the kitchen (where the router is now) 35 on the front porch (about 40ft from router) just inside the door about 90 and in my bedroom (about 40ft from router) between 3-20 so I’m hopeful this system will get at least 50 everywhere.

    Actually i switched my mesh wifi a month ago from deco and changed it to linksys velop. My main reason are the durability and the tech support. Deco is cheap compared to order brands that's why i brought it. But after a month of using this, it auto restart without any reason. The support hotline of deco is USELESSSSSSS. Never fooled because of the price.

      TC but can I manually turn off 5G in each of my devices or does turning 5G off in the app cut it off entirely to all my devices? My isp is frontier communications and their router allows each of my devices to choose to switch between 2.4 and 5G. Just wondering if eero does the same.
