We certainly try to avoid anything that may have been stolen and tampered with. If you look back through over 500 videos you will find we always try and buy crash damaged vehicles from salvage auctions as in all probability the vehicle was running pre accident and also its likely everything is legit. If you mean the Discovery sport, it was not recorded by the insurance company as stolen, they put it as a cat S. The statement was true. I have been buying and repairing salvage for over 30 years and Rob for over 20 years and during that time we both rarely bought stolen recovered as it was not worth the gamble. I stand by my comment and advise anyone to be very cautious when buying a stolen recovered vehicle.
What does ICE (with the cross) means? Engine not working? Update: found this wording. . . Copart engineers write ICE on the windscreen if it needs to be inspected. So soon as driver drops off the guys in the yard know if certain cars need inspecting so they write ICE , once completed the engineers scribble it out so they know they have completed it as there are a few engineers in each yard
Hi guys I was talking to someone with a Tesla the other day and they where telling me with the cost of energy now it costs them £50 to do 300 miles. My misses has a 1.5dci megane and even with the diesel at nearly £2 a litre she gets 600 miles for £80 so your right on what you said. Keep up the great work guys 👍
That comes about using motorway fast chargers. Charge off peak at home at 5p a kW and you can put in 70kW for £3.50, that will get you 300 miles in a Tesla. It makes a great deal of sense then.
at 5.00 minutes - its showing 39834 in September 21 and 28720 in June 22, I've had this with Mercs where people have changed the miles over to KMs (for what ever reason!) that is 24751 miles so would stack up well.
I drive an ID3 long range. Tremendous car with 300 mile range. Only problem is charging it takes more power than my house needs in ten days. Unless the UK builds many more nuclear power stations then electric vehicles are a non starter. The infrastructure is decades away and suddenly electric costs have trebled.
If you're on the most popular EV tariff, your overnight will have gone up from 5p to 7.5p a kWh, you'd hardly notice it because it's so cheap. As for the infrastructure and capacity, national grid don't seem to think there will be a problem, it'll actually help the grid due to better balancing of usage.
Those little trikes are great. One of my distant relatives had one that was adapted because he’d lost a leg but didn’t want to stop his passion of riding bikes. Great video as always have a good one to you both
Rob, get an external microphone. They don't cost much and Chris could pay with the coins he finds. Say a Rode with the fluffy wind dampening fluffy cover and you'd look like a pro and basically get away with more as you would look like you knew what you were doing. I use one and they certainly get rid of the wind noise (to a point). It would work in the workshop too when it got windy on the Berlingo numbers. Cheers.
Mint video again fellas I could spend a lot of time walking around places like copart lots of variety to look at and interesting stuff. Stay lucky and healthy looking forward to Friday.
I was amused by the way Chris and the Copart guide were walking on ahead and Rob lingers behind getting distracted rummaging in every nook and cranny looking for a nugget! Just like I used to be on holiday with my parents.
Great interesting video, it's the first time I watched the car vertical to see the damage on the c63, bet the man walking with you was loving it, getting paid to walk around the yard
Love looking at the crash repairable cars after watching how you guys do your thing with them. Makes you appreciate that not all category cars are to be avoided. But also with the advice you’ve given what to look for. Thanks for something very different
Super super video. Really enjoyed the trip around Copart. Some interesting vehicles. Hope you will follow it up again sometime. Many thanks for inviting us along.
I really like these videos. It’s nice that the team are so friendly, and this guy seems like a good bloke. I quite like a bit of everything there. It’s just a shame that you can’t get down there to do live bidding yet.
Rob, Chris, I would like to think that you were allowed access to Copart because Salvage rebuilds has showed what a decent setup you guys run. Fantastic advice on the stolen recovered, I bought an Astra GTE may moon's ago. later found out that the vin had been ground down etc. Credit to Copart staff.
C63 AMG, R=run D=drive 1 = 1xkey, C at the end of the lot number on the windscreen means it's a private entry vehicle..... Normally not a good sign, usual mechanical issues. If there's an X at the end of the lot number that's insurance vehicle which are the ones to go for 👍
Love a wander round anywhere with Rob & Chris, always a few smiles and always interesting. I can remember that office camper van from the last time. Amazing its still sat there! Well done lads. 👏
Before you buy from copart check how much they charge as a buyer. A car I was going to bid on went for £400 and the final price would have been £625 with their charges. If you're on a tight budget be vey careful.
Quite nice to see you walking around a Copart location, especially since my Focus that I’ve had for the last nearly 4 years now resides at their Bristol location. You might see it if you ever go there, it’s a silver Mk3 Focus facelift. Sadly it’s a Cat B, otherwise I might have reached out to see if you were interested in buying it, I would have loved to see it back on the road.
Love all prestige cars , mercs. Porsche. BMWs. Audi. Great show this. Went to one in Dubai. You can guess what cars were there .. lambos Porsche. Ferrari , Bentley rolls etc etc. loved it. Some were good prices too .
Remember when this compound was first built, it was full of VW and Audi cars and used as a distribution centre I believe, the operations moved from a site nearer Ramsgate, opposite the old Richborough Power Station.
Hello Rob and Chris, what a brilliant walk round Copart, there is alot of cars there,If you can film the MPV/SUV section if one there, will be a interesting look.thanks.
I also love Motorhomes, which is why I have one, its In for it's MOT as I am watching this. Hopefully it goes through ok as she is getting on. 20 years old this year.
Top video as ever! I know some copart do agri stuff which would be cool to see, then measure stuff like quads, jet skis etc that kinda stuff would be a great walk around!
I used to work for an Auctioneer, we had the contract for Australian Customs in Melbourne we had a Ferrari 458 in a 20’ container it had been dismantled by customs because they found cocaine hidden throughout the whole vehicle after the court case, we were allowed to sell it….it was the only lot in the Auction…..it took 5hrs to finally sell
Thanks. The hybrids interest me as it opens up a whole new arena and the noughties Civics represent an interesting buy. Battery replacement is possible, either the entire pack or individual cells, you can get a very economical car and still have a manual gearbox without too many electronics to go wrong - should be the ultimate in bangernomics if the purchase price is right. Doubt many will agree though. Those Motorhomes looked fantastic in layout and the quality of the interiors.
Interesting Video. But curious as to why the C63 is there after being supposedly written off for relatively minor damage and it's been fixed already, but ends up at Copart?? Strange.
Cheers both of you it's just nice seeing all the different makes and models really, bit like when you could go to the scrap yard and climb to the top of a stack and get youbown bits, even when you got what you needed still had a good walk andblook around 🤣 back in the goodbold days when you could do it and fill your pockets with fuses 🤔🤣🤣
Hi from durham guys 👋👍great little walkabout and thanks to copart for their hospitality and I love the amg 63's very unique sounds they play 👌 thanks for your time and be safe see you soon👍👋
My dad 94 yrs ran a garage in Birmingham in the sixty’s. Sold cars and petrol with repair garage and recovery. Around the back of the garage was a huge plot of land which contained smashed up cars. He had a Land Rover recovery truck with a crane on the back manually operated not a winch😁. I used to go to the garage as a kid and play in the smashed up ones. Some had blood in😂😂. Minis, humbers, zephyrs, A35s A 40s cambridges, triumphs, mgs u name it. He used to move them with two old land rovers which had no roof on towbar front and back. I used to love it all as a kid.imagine H&S now, blood, glass sharp metal😁😁😁😁😁lived our best lives. Great vid thanks The SL500 for me
Nice walkaround Gents. Now we know why there's a shortage of vans , all in Copart! I understand the reason for not buying stolen recovery but if Chris really wanted that truck then, well he wouldn't be selling it. So in that sense there's no problem. Anyway I just like to see a mix of high end cars and common ones. Camping is not my thing but respect to those who enjoy it. Interesting stuff about the batteries and temperature. I don't mind tackling electrics but if I were you I would get some training before working on one of those vehicles, very high voltage. Don't bother with Tesla though unless they change their policies. Thanks again Rob and Chris for another great video. 👍 👍 BTW sorry if I used to much waffle 🧇 .
I am with you Rob I love a camper . Copart has an amazing set up and the video was fantastic. If you do another I would like to see some of the more off beat vehicles or some of the older stuff. I noticed a MK 1 series 1 focus they are getting less and less now so that was of interest to me. Anyway keep up the good work and thanks to you and Chris for all the smiles and your infectious enthusiasm.
"We avoid buying stolen recovered vehicles" erm that's not true 🤣🤣

@@sruk do the salvage yards check the persons drivers license or whatever like VIN number to see if they truly own it? or?
@@sruk Hi, quick question, is advisable to buy a stolen or repossessed car as a personal vehicle and not to resell or amend for that matter?
As an ex hgv driver for Copart the pen on the windscreen states what it does I.e D means drives and R means runs
Ah ty for that info 👍
What does i mean

best place for a electric vehicle in a scrapyard!
😂
7:16 Rob checking the door won`t get damaged on the wing , top bloke ...even if hes not buying it .👍
Always 👍

Love these salvage yard walk arounds. My local salvage auctions won't let normies in for viewing anymore so this is the next best thing!
Love the C63. I've got my dad's one up for sale as he passed away recently. Blows my M140i into the weeds!!!
Mint video again fellas I could spend a lot of time walking around places like copart lots of variety to look at and interesting stuff. Stay lucky and healthy looking forward to Friday.
Best 30m minutes viewing for a long while . Thanks guys . More commercials please Rob

Love a wander round anywhere with Rob & Chris, always a few smiles and always interesting. I can remember that office camper van from the last time. Amazing its still sat there!

Great video guys wow can’t believe how many vehicles they have

Rob , Chris ! How do they load the electric cars,? If they can't use the fork lift to pick them up.
They have a tractor with a speck lift 👍
Quite nice to see you walking around a Copart location, especially since my Focus that I’ve had for the last nearly 4 years now resides at their Bristol location. Yes Rob they made a golf R estate
On paper, a walk around a scrap vehicle yard sounds really boring, but these are some of your best videos.
Love all prestige cars , mercs. Porsche. BMWs. Audi. Great show this. Went to one in Dubai. You can guess what cars were there .. lambos Porsche. Ferrari , Bentley rolls etc etc. loved it. Some were good prices too .

I used to work for an Auctioneer, we had the contract for Australian Customs in Melbourne

after the court case, we were allowed to sell it….it was the only lot in the Auction…..it took 5hrs to finally sell
Nice tour around, thanks for that Rob&Chris 👍
Love a good mooch around copart video the one i would pick is the motorhome that had front end damage and to be a bit greedy the C63 too
That Motorhome sold yesterday for 35k 👍
My parents council house cost less than that with the right to buy at the time
what a treat lovely video and props to the team there
Id pickup the 05 Vauxhall Corsa at 24:59 simply because it's been written off from a tickle ;) haha... the merc at the start was beautiful

It’s the best place for it people know what they are buying
Really enjoyed that boys, props for coparts guy for spending the time to walk round👍
Rob, nice to see Chops Garage naming Salvage Rebuilds, they had a problem with a Citroën electronic water pump tensioner
Great video Rob and Chris 👍👍😎😎
Great video guys thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
Cheers both of you it's just nice seeing all the different makes and models really, bit like when you could go to the scrap yard and climb to the top of a stack and get youbown bits, even when you got what you needed still had a good walk andblook around 🤣 back in the goodbold days when you could do it and fill your pockets with fuses 🤔🤣🤣

The SL500 for me
Keep up the good content 🤙🏻 I enjoy watching you both.
Rob and Chris the content mix you both put out is fine fella's and as they say, if it ain't broken, don't try to fix it.
I remember soft close doors on a early 80s Cadillac ( couldn’t say the model), i couldn’t believe it at the time it seemed ott but also impressive
Great content thank you Rob and Chris
Given your enthusiasm for modern camper van, would you ever do a vw bay or split screen?
Love these videos Rob & Chris be good to see some more salvage walk arounds 👍
Nice walkaround Gents. Now we know why there's a shortage of vans , all in Copart! We wouldn’t touch one without training 👍
I absolutely love motor homes can I see more please on your next visit 🙏
