    How in the world did Canik beat Walther to the market with this??? GOOD FOR CANIK WELL DONE!!!

    • @geraldochi7945

      Was about to say the exact same thing. Canik surpasses Walther (which I love) in this sub compact category.

      I have been writing to Walther for 10 damn years begging them to make a PPQ-PPS hybrid and they must have thrown out my requests and/or given them to Canik. I'm sick of being a disappointed Walther fanboy. I'm getting one of these, taking a picture of it, and sending it with a copy of all my letters to Walther with a big "FU, thanks for nothing" on the front..

    • @stopthephilosophicalzombie9017
      @stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Walther isn't nearly as big a company as people think. Also Umarex seems to be calling the shots. They aren't innovating like they used to.

    • @andrewphung144
      @andrewphung144 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wouldn’t say Canik is surpassing Walther. That’s a big statement. Yes Canik has more to offer in selections and different pistol class more than Walther but it’s
      Quality. I’m a Walther fan boy just like you. PPS is good lil shooter I have both ppq and pps. Don’t forget Canik clone after walther p99. The thing with Walther is once they do release a gun it’s bad ass but it’s worth the wait IMO

    • @jolebole-yt
      @jolebole-yt ปีที่แล้ว

      Walther as bigger company probably has a board of managers/directors that decides which products need to be made and sold to make revenue goals. Canik knows what US market needs and makes it. No drama.

    It would be really helpful if you did a follow up to this video with some side by side comparisons of other "micro compact" pistols like the Hellcat, Shield plus, and such just to see how much of a difference there is in width of frame between them. It appears smaller than a full size in width yet takes a true double stack magazine which is an astounding feat in of itself. I am super curious to see the range-day results, as I am definitely a fan of Canik firearms and their triggers. Should be interesting to see, and not for nothing the idea of more than one backstrap is a major plus in this segment so I am curious to hear your and Teya's thoughts on that feature. This could very well be my next carry piece.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's too easyforcamer angles of lens focal length to distort your perception of things like that. Check the specs if tenths of an inch mean that much to you.

    • @killacoiler1707
      @killacoiler1707 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GBGuns it is the same width as a shield plus @ 1.1" which makes the true double stack magazine architecture a mind blowing feat of engineering. I think that it boils down to the type of polymer compound used to make the grip and frame and maintain structural integrity. The thickness of the grip walls on the MC9 look very thin like the Sig 365 whereas the grip wall on the shield, Max9, and others appear much thicker. 1.12" is very respectably narrow and should definitely make for a discrete carry. Not to mention it is on par with the Shield plus, Hellcat Pro, and Sig 365XL as far as width.
      The Max-9 is the slimmest at 0.95" but I did not like how that pistol shot at all. Its best quality was the hybrid Tritium/Fiber optic front sight. I am super intrigued by the Mete MC9 and am anxiously awaiting your range review.

      @killacoiler1707 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@darrinbarnard6797 the micro dagger does have my interests peaked a bit but honestly if the MC9 trigger is anywhere near as good as its larger siblings it is a no brainer as IMO it is by far the best out of the box striker trigger on a pistol that does not say PPQ or PDP on the slide 😉.

    • @Shenmue06
      @Shenmue06 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The sweet spot is 4.5 pounds on a micro pistol. If this thing is 3.5 pounds then that's honestly ridiculous. 3.5 is literally the weight of a lot of competition pistols. I had a bad feeling that canik was going to make the trigger too light. For the most part this thing is a pocket pistol so 3.5 pounds is dangerous with fabric and leather holsters. You would literally be stuck with hard material holsters unless you wanted to risk harming yourself. Then again maybe they made it heavier than 3.5 pounds. Wish he would have tested the trigger weight!!

  • @jamesR1990
    @jamesR1990 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I've been waiting for your breakdown on this!
    The added thin-ness, compatibility with the larger Canik mags (so it can use my Mete Pro mags), the trigger 👌, and that price. I am disappointed that the holster isn't an AIWB style, I had heard rumors that this would have one.
    This will push my GX4 to the safe 😆

I think it is bested by the Walther PDP-F. Incorrectly marketed "for women," although it is a great gun for women, it too is simply an excellent handgun with a stellar trigger that has been a hit with every man who has tried it. Can't go wrong with Canik. Solid engineering, good grip, great trigger and both fun and easy to shoot well, all at a solid price point.

I think they should release a staggered stack version of the PPS and label it the M3. It should have the grip length as the current gen with the 7 round magazine but make it flush fit and try to squeeze 11 rounds into there. I don't however see that happening anytime soon. I view this as direct competition to the P365 but is larger & heavier than the P365 so would like to see a comparison in accuracy & felt recoil with this & the P365. Also, can you pocket carry this as well as the P365?

    I'm newer to Pistols I went with a Canik rival for my first one and recently got a shield plus performance center for carry. I haven't got to shoot a p365,hellcat, or caniks carry guns. I'm not sure if I want to keep my shield or trade it for something else. It does have the 4" barrel but it weighs about the same. I'm a little jealous you got the Rival metal frame I wish I would of been able to get that

    The trigger looks really good. Never shot a Canik before.... but (if I'm not mistaken), they're supposed to have some of the best triggers. Always get FN, Canik and one other brand mixed up... so I could be wrong. Anyways, it reminds me of a Glock with an 8lb connector. I know 8lbs seems a little heavy for a Glock trigger, but it has a very short break and is more like a single action than the lighter connectors... and you can significantly decrease the weight with a trigger job, making it more similar to a single action (if you like that kind of trigger). I actually prefer it stock with the 8lb connector. Don't think 8lbs is a bad trigger at all (esp with such a short break)... so I actually recommend them for EDC. In my opinion, they add a little bit of extra safety, but without making the trigger any worse.

    I’m contemplating trading my SC in for this, I just couldn’t get on board with the SC as it was just to big to be a true sub compact and just didn’t compete with other brands in the micro compact category.

    Was a Glock “fanboy” for over 20 years. Canik is absolutely the best firearm on the market for the value! Period. Hard stop. You just can’t beat their out-of-the-box product for what you pay. There is not another firearm company right now that can touch Canik for what they provide. Can’t even be a logical argument against it (Usually from someone who doesn’t own one and loves “their” own gun brand). Lol I still carry the 43X with shield mags as my EDC, but I have literally waited three years for Canik to come out with their version to compete against the 43x. As soon as I can port that slide on the Mete MC9, that will absolutely become my EDC. Hands down!

      @@scottschreiber6008 that hump or one finger groove or whatever PSA wants to call it is in the way of my grip. My friend had one and he dremeled it down because it affected his grip too. That and the trigger are the 2 biggest complaints by people. If the trigger wasn't awful you wouldn't have bought an Apex trigger for it which is 1/3 the price of the gun. Haha

      @@whatsup24_7 the original acct trigger was awful. The dagger trigger to most of us is very manageable. I bought a apex try because I got a extremely good price on it. My wife doesn’t complain about her’s at all. No, it’s not a sfx trigger by any means, but far from awful. A lot of people are trigger snobs. Go watch “the firearms guy” video where he makes fun of trigger snobs. Very inlightning. I have a new trigger for it and extra mags and still not spent as much as a Glock. I agree with re-holstering. Always thought it was best (whenever possible) to remove the holster, then reholster the gun and then reinstall the holster on your belt. Have seen too many accidental discharges from re-holstering and/or from people not paying attention while they re-holster to later find out that something got in their trigger guard (when the gun goes off from them bending over or while they're getting out of their car, etc... etc...). I know it's not always feasible... but it's worth the extra 2 seconds if you have a holster that can be removed and reinstalled quickly (like the vast majority of IWB/AIWB holsters with clips, over-hooks or the soft loops).

    Was interested in the sc but it's too bulky for me to be considered subcompact. This is perfect and unlike the hellcat and 365 you can put an actual extended magazine (20 rounds ) as well as change the back straps..I'm very impressed and I'm definitely going to buy this pistol. I wonder how much it cost and if you can get it with factory night sights

    Great table review, this handgun catches my attention as it looks that the grip is just a hair thicker or wider potentially making it more shootable compared to the other micro 9’s while bringing all the goods at a stellar price. I look forward to your range report and comparing it to the p365 and the hellcat.

  • @Azure1Zero4
    @Azure1Zero4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The smaller trigger guard makes sense on a ccw pistol honestly. Unless you have sausage fingers you don't really need a large oversized trigger guard to accommodate tactical gloves. There might be an argument about winter gloves but for the majority of engagements it's fine. I don't see too many people who practice their draw wearing mittens anyway. Some people carry a different gun in the winter season anyway.
