VERY few performers deserve a standing ovation at the beginning of a show, but Brother Ray was certainly one of them, and the audience was appropriately respectful of that fact. Five stars for the audience.
How do you dislike this? A blind man with such talent!! Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Jose Feliciano. ^ The three blind beautiful amazing gods of talent.
I am very lucky I was born in the sixties, I got to grow up watching Ray Charles. The man was an amazing musician, singer. Thank you Mr Charles for all the music. *****
To Ray Charles, Where do you get off! playing smooth upbeat blues and mastering such a difficult instrument. How dare you through your astoundingly perfect pitch perseption and insane rythm and feel despite your handicap. By now Ray I'm sure you can guess my tone is sarcastic and I actually love you. Ray Charles, you were a king among men and were all a little bit darker for having lost you. Rest in peace, you have earned it.
Holy crap... That drummer is awesome. He was able to pick up Ray Charles out of nothing. In addition to being personally awesome, Ray Charles always attracted the best musicians.
whoa. i really love him..he is the man that changed the face of R&B and blues/Gospel music for the rest of the worl to see=) R.I.P Ray Charles Robinson
he was definitely the best of all times ...cross all intersections of life and still doing his thing. what a legendary circle of life it does not get any better
A real woman, I got a woman who treats me like a king, and i tell you she is my queen, I got a women who pulled me out of deep, dark a place, and she mad me right, and captured my heart, I got a woman who is a saint and i pray to one, who holds the life ,to take me first, for i can not cray over her grave. Listen and listen good please take me first,i beg you please, please take me first as i can not cry over her grave. I got a woman for 40 years she still with me ,a trouble man,a no good a man. She give me love and heal my wounds,a trouble man,a no good a man. What can i say, to have a woman, yes to have a REAL woman, all you need ,yes all you need, nothing but a sack, yes i said a sack full of luck and somebody up there who loves you,and that is all my friend and THAT IS ALL.
I agree with Billy Joel's comment. I first saw Ray at the Mosque Theater in Newark when I was really young. Maybe 5 white people there. He was the most amazing musical genius! I adore Ray and I can't see how anyone doesn't.
I loved this man's music and saw him in concert several times long before the movie "Ray" came out. Ray Charles was one of the most influential artists in the past century.
A Lot of Mother's living in poverty need to watch the Ray Charles movie! she was poor and under educated, but she was a Mom to her son and instilled confidence , got him into a school for the blind and made it clear that he was not going to be dependent on anyone even with his blindness. He didn't want to leave his mother, but she did what was best for him,not her! see all the young mother's out there, when you bring a child into the world it's no longer all about you! but it;s about THEM!~Them!
Ray was the man! Blues, the language of Hurt and Livin! Gotta live it to know it! World is a hrad place, but leaves room for those who take chances. Fullman!
já gostava de Ray Charles e depois que vi o filme comecei a gostar mais ainda e esta musica é depois de Wha'd Isay a mais sensacional gravação que Mr. Ray gravou
I learned something with TH-cam: With great legends like Ray Charles, Elvis, the beatles, Pavarotti and more, you always get some people who put them down. So, then don't worry if someone put you down, it's normal!
So people don't know what great music is! Ray Charles is the Bomb if you ask me! I am tired of seeing racial comments! Some people need to learn how to see all peoples perspective an if you got a problem talk it over with someone! My 7 yr. old loves Ray Charles....
Amazing Talent!! nowadays his difficult 4 a blind person 2 have sucess cuz the music bussines is all about showing flesh, now imagine in that time..a blind guy playng gospel and having his musics on the top. really a thing that only real stars can reach RIP Ray
Ray Charles took three popular gospel songs, " I Got a Savior", Talking About Jesus" and This Little Light of Mine" and renamed them "I Got a Woman", Talking About You" and "This Little Girl of Mine". He then recorded them in the same energetic gospel style, including handclapping and call and response chanting -- popular in black churches. Church folks had a fit, the kids loved it, and Soul music was born. He made a few more soul records and then went back to Jazz. --A very BaaAADD Dude.

Hey, hey Nii. Man do I like someone who challenges conventional thought. It doesn't sound like sacrilege at all to say Ray "The King" of it all Charles was more important than Presley. I agree with Billy Joel's comment. I first saw Ray at the Mosque Theater in Newark when I was really young. Maybe 5 white people there. He was the most amazing musical genius! I adore Ray and I can't see how anyone doesn't.

Great Great Great!!!! What a blessing l get to listen to this beautiful art...
Hey man. That is what the radio said. I hope you have a very fulfilling life.
Both Ray and Kanye are equally talented... You can't deny how much either one has done for music.
A Lot of Mother's living in poverty need to watch the Ray Charles movie! she was poor and under educated, but she was a Mom to her son and instilled confidence , got him into a school for the blind and made it clear that he was not going to be dependent on anyone even with his blindness. What I always loved about Ray was that he always seemed to be having a good time when he performed.
Ray was the man! Blues, the language of Hurt and Livin! Gotta live it to know it! World is a hrad place, but leaves room for those who take chances. Fullman!
His music withstands time. Awesome ! And, considering the life he had, he always looks so happy playing music!
