Who I want to qualify:
Denmark, Armenia, Cyprus, Iceland, Greece, Slovenia, Georgia, Austria, Albania and Australia.
My prediction:
Armenia, Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Poland, Slovenia, Georgia, Austria, Lithuania and Australia.
Semi Final 1 went mostly as expected, so it’s time for Semi Final 2 to give us some shocks, right? I think more than ten can qualify here.
Greece is the biggest unknown here, and they will be really testing the new 100% televote system. I might be banking too much on the Greek diaspora, but I really can’t see how they miss out with that much friendly support. Having the likes of Albania, Armenia and Cyprus here already gives them a big advantage. It’s all fallen so nicely for them.
So I’m predicting Greece will sneak through at the expense of either Albania or Estonia. I didn’t put Estonia in as I think it might get lost in the crowd.
I considered Albania, and I’d want to see them on Saturday. But I just didn’t have quite enough confidence to put them in. But after seeing the likes of Moldova and Portugal make it through SF1, I can see a world where Albania makes it through too. They have a unique appeal in this lineup. But it’s 50/50.

everyone said the first semi was the hardest to pick from, but I think this one was much harder. First semi, I was struggling to pick 10. This one, most could easily qualify

Switch Poland and Estonia, and I agree with these predicted qualifiers. I can also see either Denmark or Greece qualifying instead of Belgium.

I do prefer Denmark and Greece than Poland (with a Big sorry to my many Polish friends haha), so I will vote for them from Germany, no worries.. 😉

I was always going for Denmark but I think Poland and Albania stoled that spot. I had 10/10 in semi final one let’s see if I can make 20/20 this year. I don’t think I can because this semi is much more unpredictible but let’s see
Yes, no way Denmark can take the spot of Poland or Albania. But in my opinion, Poland is quite bad.
I actually completely agree with Matt regarding the predictions! I think Australia 🇦🇺, Armenia 🇦🇲 and Slovenia 🇸🇮 are the frontrunners in this semi and Lithuania 🇱🇹, Austria 🇦🇹 and Georgia 🇬🇪 will also do really well! A lot of personal favourties from me in this semi, looking forward to another spectacular show!!
Completely agree with this ranking ... Denmark is not as strong as Albania. My votes will go to Slovenia and Albania!❤

I think that Belgium is one of the few songs that can please ears of almost every person :D It's fun, vocals are good, it's difficult not to dance or sing along. And most of the people that are not in the Eurovision bubble really like it.
I agree with your top. I would like it to look like that. I am afraid, though, that Bejba will kick someone out. I hope I am wrong, though. The Windows Movie Maker effects may make it difficult for her.
As for the diaspora - I don't think that the support will be as big as during previous years. A lot of people that live abroad are well aware of the rigged competition and supported Jann. I'd even say that if she goes through - it will be not thanks to the diaspora votes :P
i really don't connect at all with belgiums entry this year. for me this sounds like a remix of a 1990s haddaway track, performed by a 3rd rate boy george impersonator 😶

I have Poland down as a safe qualifier
I'm a bit worried for Georgia but I do believe they will make it even if it's barely. Poland is almost certainly qualifying whether we like it or not. I expect 12 p from the Ukrainian televote for them and enough points here and there to make it through.
And probably like 10 or 12 from Lithuania
Based on last nights preview that I went to I think Australia could win the semi. Slovenia definitely 2nd Cyprus great easy qualifier 3rd. didn’t like Armenia staging at all but think they will scrape through. I've Surprised myself Lithuania will qualify she was good, Austria yes, fun song and no problems with their voices. Belgium blasted it last night so I think they will go through borderline, it was very popular in the arena. Estonia best singer and I say yes. I put Georgia out of my top 10, her performance last night was entirely tv focused and just a white blob in a hurricane. Albania staging was beautiful and song was superb last night but I don’t think it is enough to qualify. I think Poland will qualify, she sang better last night and good performance regardless of all the controversy around her entry. Iceland, Romania nor San Marino will qualify. Greece borderline no which is sad because he’s such a nice guy but did seem nervous and the start of the song just doesn’t work. So I agree with 8 of your ranking. Let’s see how they fare on tv which could change my thoughts on Georgia and Greece. We also saw the performances from Spain, Ukraine and UK. We couldn’t even see Blanca for the first minute not arena audience friendly staging but I just don’t like it anyway. Ukraine looked good but not that strong. UK I love the song, she got a great reaction but still not a strong performance and having to go down all those steps just makes her breathless for the last section. I hope she does well but UK is out of my overall top 10 for the first time.

I think I'm probably going to need to change my predictions after watching the semi because it looks like I'll be way off with the results compared to what I'm hearing. However here are the pre-show qualifiers I have just from the rehearsals:

13. Estonia
14. Iceland

From what I've been hearing, I'm now expecting Denmark to be more borderline, Austria to be a little lower and Armenia to be higher.
My hopes for Albania are now slightly higher - prior to rehearsals they were in my predicted top 10 but I moved them for some reason. I see myself putting them back in after watching it but I need the full performance. And for Greece I assumed neighbours would step in but that may not be the case here.
I think Poland will finish somewhere between 9th-11th. It has the advantage of being the only girl bop in the semi, a good diaspora and what seems like a fine performance, though I've heard they've thrown the same awful effects on the performance as last year.
I'm hoping for Estonia but I can't see it happening. It's running order spot and the fact that it's televote only all work against it. It'd sail through with juries, possibly even win the jury vote, but with televote it will struggle.
Apart from that, I feel pretty good about my other predictions - at least until I see the semi

Surely Poland are not only going to qualify, but are going to win the grand final too?! No one does Latin fire like Poland! Beh-buh!
I only care about Estonia, Armenia and Cyprus; would be ok with Albania qualifying; and to fill up the 10, if I absolutely *have* to: Georgia, Austria, Australia, Lithuania, Greece and Slovenia. I agree with the poster who said SF2 is hard to pick because the songs overall are weak.
After watching all the rehearsals... I think Armenia will win! Australia and Slovenia will surelly be on top 3!!
I did lower Austria that I had in first place before, but they still go through for sure.. Everyone loves "Who the hell is Edgar?" and the "Poe, Poe, Poe, Poe, Poe, Poe.. " Is like the "cha, cha, cha, cha, cha" from Finland, it will rock the Liverpool Arena! 😜
Cyprus, is too loved by many so will be just after, followed by Estonia, that I like even more, but..
Belgium and Lithuania (were not even on my list before, but they are growing on me a lot, and now I'm quite sure they will be fine.. Georgia does not impress me personally, but for what I see a lot of Eurofans love it, so I think they will go through..
Now Greece.. well I just love the boy, he's a complete star, amazing voice, amazing English, he plays all sorts of instruments, and yet he's only 16.. He deserves to qualify in my view.. So, for that to happen I will vote for Greece from Germany 🤩
But then Albania, with all the family thing and in their own language also do... 🤗
And yet, Poland is looking much better now than before (even if the song is terrible), and could potencially sneak through as well (the bookies are betting on it... although many people still hate it).. Plus, there are a lot of gay fans that adore Reiley from Denmark too hehe... So let's see tonight how this plays out, but for now, this is my top 10: 😉

As it's televote ONLY, in SF1 all the party songs went through expect those who were underdogs the whole season. It means we have to count with only the best ballads to go through But almost every dancing tracks. You 'll see.
POLAND or AUSTRIA will top this SF.
ARMENIA will the best ballad to go through.
AUSTRALIA, SLOVENIA, CYPRUS locked as well, so 4 places left.
DENMARK has an upbeat song, starting 1st, huge fan base on TikTok, can't see him out because of these.
ALBANIA, becuase it's a very great traditional song, and many countries in this SF can actually rate the cultural flow, the originality, and the singing also they are family & running order just put it through without a doubt.
GEORGIA has strong visuals and strong voice, she will probably sneak through somewhere 8-10 place.
BELGIUM has maybe the most generic song, but backing singers presence add to it, also the whole LGBTQ message will just support this to the Final in 9-10.
Lithuania: Does have chance to knock out Georgia.
Greece: I love this song too, but the rehersals showed him not ready to perform this vocally or as a production great enough to reach top10. However! With a marginal vocal improvement he will make it through. They also can kick out Georgia because of the ballad issue.
Estonia: Won't make it, even tho it's beautiful staging, the song is building so slow to be a Televote contender.
Romania: song it's brave, it has a cool flow, singing is OK too. But without any direction on the stage, nor supportive backing singers or dancers it's just closer to a High School production.
Iceland: Love her voice and energy, but if "Paper" not went throuh which was a very similar yet better delivered song from them, this song is also putting them very low.
San Marino: I hate to say this, cause the singing imrpoved like huge, also the stage is looking very cool some points, and the song has a fun element, as they are a minor country and fans did not back up for a single moment, they won't make it.
My none qualifiers (SF2): San Marino, Romania, Poland, Greece, Iceland, Estonia (and I feel sorry for them, because Estonia is high quality)
actually, i think Greece will go through and im not saying this based on the song. In everyway you see it with logic, its a non-qualifier. BUT taking a look at the countries voting in this semi i'd say they are in and not as borderliners. We have Cyprus, Albania, Armenia, Georgia and the UK, traditionally giving them high votes. Then we have San Marino (when only televoting was used, almost every year they'd give Greece 10 or 12 pts), Romania (another ally that always votes for Greece - many or few points) and Belgium (on a lesser degree). So, yes, i do think Greece will go through. Maybe for all the wrong reasons but i am 100% sure they will qualify.
I think Greece will qualify and will be the first country to announce tonight by EBU
I have one different with respect to yours, I put Denmark in (predicting his big tik tok followers will help him out) and Estonia out (I don't see both Estonia and Lithuania qualifying like in SF1 with Switzerland and Netherlands only one went through. I could also probably get 3 of them wrong at this point, it's a very open battle.
Most of his followers are from south Korea so you shouldn't be so sure.... not everyone is probably aware of Eurovision there and still it's only the world vote as one country....

Albania did everything right with their staging - and that is the reason why it will qualify. Denmark will qualify too because all the young girls will ♥ him.
Albania were superb last night but is it enough?
I believe that the majority will vote for Poland rather than Belgium even though I personally don't like the Polish song.

I think you really underestimate the voting power of Greece. They will get 12 points from Albania and Cyprus, plus they have Armenia, Slovenia and Romania in the semi-final which will also give them some higher points, then San Marino (even though it's jury voting, the jury is always very Greece friendly) and then there are other countries like Georgia, Belgium or UK which will give them medium points on average. That alone could be enough to give 50-60 points and then it just depends on where the border is.
Don't forget Denmark. Victor is half Danish
The only real guarantee here is Cyprus giving Greece 12 points. Albania, Armenia will no doubt give greece some points but the song is terrible and the vocals are poor. I just dont see any other country giving Greece any points.

@@starskreem8258 Actually I'm comparing this to Lithuania 2019 which was somehow similar story. The Performance and song were very weak as well and nobody had it on their radar, but it came only one point short from qualifying (and that btw just because a jury member ranked the songs wrong way around) 'cause they got 46 points from NO, IE, LV, UK just because of diaspora and additional some lower points from other countries with which they scored 77 points from the Televote. So if it had been 100% Televote (like now) they would have easily qualified. Greece this year is similar story, maybe not as extreme but even if it doesn't qualify it would be very close (so they finish like 11th or 12th).
@Ober Oberchecker ESC I can see Greece being 11th or 12th, but I just dont see it going any higher then that. Austria, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Georgia, Iceland, Belgium and Australia (despite having the largest Greek population outside of Greece) These countries will likely give no points to Greece or 1 or 2 maximum. Albania, Armenia, Denmark may give Greece 5 or 6 points but it wont get 12 or 10 points. Not those three have better songs and will likely vote for each other first before giving greece any (besides Cyprus) I see Greece getting 45 to 50 points maximum. The facts are if Cyprus can not qualify like it did last year, there is every chance it can happen to Greece as well.

I predict that Georgia will be the shock-non-qualifier. Estonia will have a hard time, too (Running Order). Poland will certainly qualify since it is only televoting.

I disagree... the vote for Croatia was not just because they are a slavic Country with lot's of neighbours.. but because ot the impressive show, their age, and the anti-war message, and that came from all over Europe for sure!
Poland, if they pass, it's because of their commercial pop song, sexy looks, and the millemiums and younger generation, that favour such songs, like also the UK or Israel for example...

Greece can’t be that bad to be surpassed by poland vocals and Denmark vocals…also the boring Estonia that has no friends for televise…plus Greece even with Argo had many votes from the public…and don’t forget the Uk which will vote for Greece due to the diaspora and the uk vibes that the song gives…

I love the song but similar to Czechia, the live is difficult to match the music video. It will still do very well.
Yesterday was the jury show and Austia supposedly wasn't that good which is why its low.
It should be.Cyprus has a striking act and he is good vocally. And 6th isn't that far low down

I cannot see a world where Albania qualifies and Iceland not and I don't like none of those songs, Poland will qualify, I don't understand why Slovenia is that up on the list. The first semi was so hard to predict because everyone was soooo good, the second is the same story but only because they are almost all baaad imho. Armenia and Cyprus tops for me :)

Cuz Slovenia is just so good. Vocals, energy, good vibes, overall perfomance is on point.
