I agree with the guy on the left. The Israeli song is just not good by any standard and Noa is aiming for cool but feels cold as ice on stadge.

As a Finnish, I have to say that in my heart I wish that final would turn for good for Jere from Vantaa, not for Finland, but Jere as a person. He totally would deserve it, for being such a wonderful ambassodor for our crazy homeland.
I have huge respect for our big sister, Sweden too and all the other wonderful contestants. It's just that this green guy has stolen my heart, bringing joy and energy in our lives. It has been an joyfull ride.
I think he has already won, no matter what the final result is 💚💚💚 Jere has made ESC history 🐛💃🍹🍾
And we love Jere back. He's just adorable and the song is an epic eurovision entrie. It will be remembered for years to come whilst others will be forgotten. Good luck to both of us on saturday, and our little sister in the west (and everyone else ofc) 🌬🇸🇪♥️🇫🇮🦖♥️
I wanted Croatia, Czechia, Finland, Latvia, Malta, Moldova, Norway, Portugal, Serbia and Sweden.
Luckily most of them qualified.

Dude, Finland and Moldova were my favorites, besides my queen Mimicat (but I'm biased, I'm PT). I loved Moldova's song since first listening and I was sure they would bring a show.

Both anti-war songs (Croatia and Switzerland) went through and flipped Q for a lot of fan favourites. Moldova is the dark horse this year. I'm very sad for Latvia as it was one of my favourites this year but I guess people don't have taste. I won't comment on the Finland/Sweden thing because I like both songs for different reasons and I think the eurofans have decided wrongly on the winner a lot of times in the past. Love x
From what I've seen others say and what I also think is, that Latvia doesn't work in the eurovision, but it's fine outside it. Technically eurovision is a song contest, so you might think that it's just about the song, but there definitely is a certain energy to eurovision that then means that some even good songs don't make it.
@@ellem8990 I agree. Still, we've had songs not fitting the Eurovision narrative win in the past like Salvador Sorbal. Thankfully circumstances are different every year because certain target groups (age/gender/genre/language) spread across different entries each year and that's what makes the competition interesting and fun.

In several videos (more than in this one) some of you guys seemed like almost apologising for putting Kaarija over Loreen in your rankings. She is an act like every other, I like it but it is too overrated due to the fact that Loreen is a huge name in the esc bubble. Still it is not apostasy to say that she is not your fave.
Hi for me Loreen's song is simply too similar to Euphoria. Music has moved on. It is a good song but been there and done it we need freshness like Finland's entry.

Honestly Loreen was not too 3. I think Loreen is big in inner circles, but objectively, the performance is not spectacular, according to the ones I spoke with first time watchers.
Nobody mentioned it.
Loreen is literally the number one, no one can sing like her or have the stage presence. Her performance literally looks like a professional music video. We haven't seen this even on the MTV music awards or Golden globes.

It looks like a girl standing in a squared sandwich. The smoke creates atmosphere, and she has good presence.
She is hyped by inner circuits, wiwi among them. Hope the juries knows better, than to give away the win to medium song to a previous winner.

Controversial but i dont think Sweden was in top 3. I think Loreeen appeals more in the eurovision bubble but outside that I dont think it will land as they predict it to. I think its quite generic and seems like a mock off Euphoria. The performance is cool but in the end feels pretty cold, you never truly connect and I cant understand half of what shes saying! I think Finland connects and lands better with more people. And of course Portugal ❤ Mimicat really nailed it, shes the proof you dont need leds, big backgrounds, props if you have the talent charisma and a great song. Mimicat delivered!
While Mimicat's song is not one of my personal favourites, I agree that she had probably the strongest charisma and quality of the night! She showed what a grest vocal and performance look like. Happy for her that she made it through to the final

did the guy on the left watch the show? everyone could easily tell that finland obviously won sf1 with a big margin. my personal favorite of the night was portugal but u can't deny the obvious fact that finland won sf1.
What happens in the Arena is not what happens at home... I'm sure Finland came first or second but let's not pretend that the audience reaction is the main indicator of this. 99.9% of the audience are Eurovision fans already and not casual viewers at home, and you also have to remember that Finland performed last - a lot of the time the viewers have selected their favourite song during the show, so performing last doesn't secure you a win... either way I'm sure Finland did amazing but I don't think it was a landslide. To a casual Eurovision viewer, Croatia is just as good as Finland :)

@David Z It's not hyper-polished, but *_manufactured_*_ hyper-polished_ that I think people are rejecting. Manufactured 🤑🤑-ready songs do not guarantee entertaining music.
Regarding Käärijä, maybe, maybe not, probably… But after reviewing Mimicat's performance, I'm leaning more towards her having finished as a close second, despite the somewhat bare staging and that missed first note (and there was something which I thought was a mistake when looking at the camera, but on a second viewing it looked like it was done on purpose). I'm very sad about Latvia, though; it was the first time ever that I've voted for a song on the ESC, literally (and three votes, at that). Oh well… 🤷♂
The Wiwis seem determined to repeatedly ignore Portugal's acts this year, for some reason. It is specially annoying considering the time they spend lauding Loreen (a song and a performer I just can't see any appeal to) and other run of the mill performances. Israel, really? A mimic made up to blatantly go after Chanel's act last year? They gave Malta and Latvia more air time than Mimicat. What gives???

Yeah, I don't even like Noa, but I really don't understand the comparison at all. Like we seriously can't be giving DANCEBREAKS ownership, nobody owns that. I mean even Poland is doing a dance break this year, but I haven't seen anyone say anything about that.
I voted for Latvia and Azerbaijan, neither of which were my favourites before the live. I think Latvia was beautiful, touching and worked wonderfully live. Azerbaijan was a breath of fresh air after the sandblast of Loreen and the guys were really cute.
I was initially going to vote for Serbia and/or Moldova, but the live performances weren't quite as strong as I expected. They both needed a little energy boost, maybe they'll have it for the Final.
Portugal was energetic, glad to see them advance. I could have lived without Croatia in the final.
Czechia looked beautiful, but I liked the visuals of the video version more. Norway didn't quite pull it off, but I'm happy they got through. Switzerland was, vocally, the best performance all night.
And, as a Finn, I think, Käärijä nailed it.💚💚💚

Am I the only who was slightly disappointed with Finland? It sounded like Käärija's voice was a little off sync. It sounded much better in the national contest to me...
I know right? I felt during the ,,Pop Part" the voice was kind of weak and we could barley hear him.
It seemed to me he had sound issues at the end of his performance. He seemed nervous and disconnected with the song.

I'll be so disappointed if Sweden wins, are we really pretending that staying in one place and wiggling your fingers a bit is a good performance? it just looks awkward, the long fingernails give me the ick and it just looks like she's trying to fill the time with the weird hand movements. Also, it's just shouting. Meanwhile Finland actually has a dynamic performance as well as a dynamic song that keeps you interested. MY BOY DESERVES THE CROWN.

The irony of it all. Loreen is literally si ging her lungs out while Kaarija is the one who can't sing and is just shouting chachacha, he even needs an backup si ger and still can't deliver. Loreen's performance looks like a professional music video. She has more talent in one of those nails than Kaarija and his whole team. But keep hating.

What do you think about Croatia? Could it be on top10? Im pretty sure that Malta or Netherlands was 11th and didn´t lose more than 10 points to last qualifier. Azerbaijan and Ireland probably got like 7 points each :D
I liked Azerbaijan but I knew it would not qualify - they are such a sweet brothers - endearing.
Croatia definitely came in the Top 3 in this Semi Final imo ... they have the power to become this year's Poland 2016, Norway 2019, Moldova 2022 - no matter how Croatia does in the Jury vote, their Televote could catapult them to Top 10
Nobody is thinking that Croatia might have won the semi, but I think they did. Despite the message on it I don't like like it much, it's chaotic and a big mess, but, they won the semi last night, in my opinion.

Excuse me BUT Noa's vocals were not good at all !! I mean did i watch something else?? It was underwhelming for me and probably for them too because they didn't put the singing part into the short cuts.
Serbia was OK but his mic was too low and he was so nervous and shaky throughout the whole thing.
Czechia was AMAZING probably the best performance of the night vocals were on point and show was simple yet beautiful.
Portugal was the surprise for me tonight it was incredible and Mimicat has an amazing voice and energy.
Finland was good with the show and energy again vocals were not good but i mean he doesn't even need to sing that well crowd turns up for it anyways.
Latvia always will be in my heart that song was beautiful and well performed. I would choose this song over Crotia's weird entry any day.
Well Sweden was better than i expected her vocals were off during the rehearsals but tonight she delivered beautifully THAT cube does not work for me still though.
Yeah... Noa’s performance was brilliant apart from the vocals. She sounded flat and shaky at times.
And I don’t feel it works like Finland, since Käärijä is not really singing, but she is.

My heart broke for Malta and Latvia. At least Latvia should have qualified. The whole act was mesmerising! I would qualify them over Croatia.
I got happy for Czechia. After I watched the rehearsals I was really afraid people would not vote for them. Cause the staging didn’t seem to tell the story. But glad they went through.
Now, Portugal was the best performance of the night (there, I said it) I know I might be biased (I’m Portuguese), but I didn’t have our entry in my top 5. Mimicat blew me away and made me feel ashamed I didn’t believe more in our song.
Finland, Sweden and Norway didn’t surprise.
Alessandra seemed a bit shaky, but I guess the responsibility of opening the show got to her.
Loreen was good, did better than in the rehearsals. But although I am a big Loreen fan, I don’t vibe too much with this particular song.
Käärijä was the winner of the semi I’m sure.
Loved Switzerland. The brilliant staging, paired with those killer vocals, totally elevated the song. Deserved qualification!!!

My whole family called Sweden “too similar to previous years” and thought Finland was too tacky. They loved Moldova and Czechia

Alessandra was nervous and with good reason. The last rehearsal before the finale, she had technical problems. The problem lay in the wireless in-ear system that the artists have. Alessandra could not hear herself and the sound out was so low....Because of this technical problems (that was not her fault), she got a new rehearsal.

What a fantastic semi final. Sweden and Finland were amazing. Another favourite of mine was Malta and I think it was very unlucky not to reach the final. Not surprised Croatia got through but I'm not keen on the song.
I think Norway did so badly tonight, 5 of us watching it here simply could not bear to listen to it especially when it gets to that whistle note...😖😖😖

All my friends who weren’t Eurovision fans LOVED Norway
I think that many Eurovision-fans might be underestimate Norway this year since they have heard the songs for many times and compare it to the MGP-performance. I think that many people who are listening to the song for the first time are going to love it (which is why the song has gotten so viral on TikTok and Spotify). I think Norway could do very well with both the juries and the public, so I would not be surprised if Norway ends up in the top 5 in the Grand Final.

I think people are underestimating Sweden’s televote and overestimating Finland’s. Finland might win the televote but like was said: it’s not as accessible as Sweden. Sweden might nog win the jury but it will get enough of a lead to beat Finland.

I agree with Bernardo, Noa is great, but she needed a better song; Israel sounded like a cheerleading song; it felt like she was cheerleading for an American football team! As Tom said, it feels like two separate performances; there was an awkward break, with no fluidity from the singing part to the dancing, but the LED was beautiful; no worries, we all know she will do well in the final. I loved Switzerland; his fantastic voice and the visual effects were terrific; the visual effects really enhanced the whole performance! Croatia was not my cup of tea; it surprised me that people would vote for semi-naked middle-aged men flaunting their, you know what repeating the same lyrics throughout the entire song...If it was up to me, I would have replaced Croatia with Latvia, I'm sad for the other songs that didn't go thru, but we all know only 10 will be in the final...looking forward to the next semi on Thursday!

I am Portuguese and wasn’t expecting Switzerland to even qualify but I fell in love with everything. Great voice. I was hoping for Norway 🇳🇴 and I am happy she passed through. Her voice was not nearly as good as in the rehearsals. Love Finland 🇫🇮 much more than Sweden. She didn’t need that box. Period. Portugal excellent!
Biggest disappointment was to see Croatia 🇭🇷 quality. They had no energy and there was no need to get in “cuecas” (underwear).
Have to re-watch Latvia 🇱🇻 to see why people think it should have advanced.
Biggest support on the arena of the night: Finland hands down. Portugal was also very well received.

Did we watch the same show? Croatia, Israel, Czech Republic, Moldova and Portugal were superb. Finland failed maximally both vocally and in performance, he seemed tired. Sweden is overrated as is Norway, but the Scandinavian lobby is simply too strong.

I think it was more nervousness from Alessandra, plus she had issues with her in-ear monitor during rehearsals, and I suspect she still had some issues with that I think, because her whistle note was slightly off in my view. Also, they got the mix wrong- her vocals should be pushed a bit more to the front (though it might actually have helped since she had some issues tonight). I think her staging is *fine* but I really hoped that they would have come up with something a bit more eye catching this time. The song screams Pyro and heavy fog...
I got 10/10 but even tho i did, i wanted to give a shout out to Netherlands male vocalist he truly is an incredible singer and i hope this won't be his last time on a Esc stage come back one day, Latvia on the other hand surprised me with how beautiful their performance was so i hope to see them too again one day. Congrats to the 10 acts that made it, I knew you would make it.
Azerbaijan was so weak, no originality, no style…. Netherlands was weak as well, only regret is for Latvia.
