I'm disappointed in Portugal's budget, Mimicat will carry Portugal through.

Who I want to qualify:
Norway, Malta, Serbia, Latvia, Portugal, Moldova, Sweden, Czechia, Netherlands and Finland.
My final prediction:
Norway, Serbia, Portugal, Croatia, Israel, Moldova, Sweden, Czechia, Netherlands and Finland.
This semi final ended up being harder to predict than I initially thought. But in the end, I’ve mostly stuck with my pre-rehearsal prediction.
I don’t see a clear path for Azerbaijan, Ireland, Latvia or Malta anymore for various reasons. Malta could maybe surprise but I’ve always thought it was way too early in the show, despite the staging looking quite strong. It needed to open the show instead of Norway.
So for me, it came down to Netherlands vs Switzerland for the 10th slot. I went with Netherlands as I feel it’s a stronger song and they have the unique appeal of being a duet, which often works well at Eurovision. But it was a close call, I just had slightly more faith in Netherlands.
Croatia is still the most unpredictable entry of this semi final though, and I still see a world in which it’s just way too much for the locals on first listen. But it’s also what people come to Eurovision for, and so I expect the public to respond.
Malta 5, Serbia NQ !? It will be quite opposite…
You must take many factors, the biggest is which countries participate in voting process. It’s not about fandom at all, don’t overestimate it

My predictions:
Norway, Serbia, Portugal, Croatia, Israel, Moldova, Sweden, Czechia, Finland and for the last spot I'm between Malta, Latvia and Switzerland. I everytime put someone else. I'm quite confident about those 9 countries but for the last spot anyone of this 3 can qualify. I think this time I'll go for Switzerland
i stay with my list from last week; my qualifiers for semi 1 are:Finland, Sweden, Norway, Portugal,
Switzerland, The Netherlands, Ireland, Latvia, Malta, and Israel.

I'm actually more sure of Serbia making it over Portugal and Malta, the performance was the one that really stood out to me from the rehearsals. I've actually put it in 5th I think.
I think Malta deserves to qualify but I'm just unsure of its chances. I feel like the result could be similar to Latvia last year, and with Malta not having televote support usually it doesn't help the case. I think it may be the country that just misses out.
yeah, malta never gets televote support, i don't see that changing all of a sudden. the song is not good enough for that imo. i think the odds are all pretty spot on on who will qualify the only one dropping out
@@jimskeuh Yeah I'm in agreement fully with the odds as well. Not in the same order but I think it seems the most likely. The thing with the odds is that it always predicts the televote qualifiers pretty accurately most years so I'm not expecting any massive shocks in this semi.

the crowd went wild for serbia last night at the dress rehearsal. it was a sort of ukraine 2021 moment, just a very cool attractive song. and considering how well serbia did in 2022 with a similar, but in my opinion way less pleasing act, i think you're all hallucinating (sorry, don't mean to be rude) not putting it into your lists. it's all televote this time by the way. so i'd rather bet top 3 than NQ for serbia

I'm glad i'm not the only one seeing a potential Norway flop, but I would have to politely disagree on Serbia. I'd be surprised if they didn't make it in a televote only semi. But we won't know until tonight I guess.
To be honest Matt, I cannot see a world where Serbia misses the final. I hear you people about Malta, but with no allies and a 2nd slot, it seems difficult right now. Let's see!

This is the most not acurate toplist i have seen thus far. Malta will not qual, sebia will qual. Norway will end 2. or 3. Finland wins. Vesna will be borderline. I could be wrong, but i usually think you have spot on predictions, this year i just really think you are missing the correct calls. Worst prediction is Norway 7. Its gonna get massive votes from a large group. Have no idea how you think vesna will appeal to the general public. But guess we will find out later today :) gl
Norway was 10th in the press poll and even some in the Norwegian ESC Club are worried for it overall. Vocals and staging are not there. Flames look cheap, costume looks cheap... I personally don't like the song either (I'm Norwegian - as you maybe?). It will qualify though. Personally hope Serbia, Czechia and Latvia qualifies because I like (indie) music😉
@@Ita.Paperwhite No im not norwegian(Danish), i just usually know what the public likes, and i do disagree with the vocals, she has the strongest of all in my perspective, and the hardest vocal requirements. She is literally the only one who takes a chance on vocals, with the high note. And the rhytm is massive, thats why its been roaming the charts. I like the flames a lot, dress i would have made in a different material and colour, would have addded pyro. Well thats what i think the masses will think. ESC clubs are far from objective, and often look more artistic = Czechia, and they literally have no vocal, still think its a mess, just a pink mess.
I do like Serbia, like the melodi, and im a kink for japanese anime, so yeah :)

This prediction feels too western-centric, since you have Serbia out and Malta, Portugal, Switzerland in. I think Czechia, Moldova, Serbia are in, probably also Croatia. I also think Sweden, Finland, Israel are in, probably also Norway. Then it's a fight for the other 2 places. I can also see Norway being a shock NQ because the people who like Norway also like Sweden and Finland. I think Malta will be out. Malta is fun, but people who want upbeat fun will probably be voting for Finland or Israel, and people who want crazy fun will probably vote for Finland or Croatia. Personally I'd love Latvia and Azerbaijan to make it, but it seems unlikely. Azerbaijan might squeak through because it's mellow/warm/cozy and no other song delivers that mood. Maybe Azerbaijan could get a boost from Germany, with the large Turkish diaspora. Both Portugal and Switzerland have gotten support from France in the past - which one will get more French votes? My guess is Switzerland, which could also get votes from Germany. So Switzerland might be in, but could also be out. The only one I feel sure will be out is Ireland. (Sorry Ireland!)

There is a VERY unlikely world where Sweden really doesn’t connect with the televote and someone else goes through. It’s a very Jury focused song
