One thing we didn't address in this video is of course the benefits to re-gearing your axles when you go up more than about 5% in tire diameter, but sometimes the correct gear ratio isn't available on a certain vehicles. However, even if you do re-gear there's probably still some room for speedometer fine tuning to ensure proper transmission shift points. This device seems like a viable option for that, outside of more complicated ECM and TCM tunes that could void any exisiting factory warranties, which is certainly the case with our Colorado. Thanks for watching!
I bought the Hypertech speedometer calibrator this last week. I tried programming the control module 5 times with all correct numbers, installed 5 times, compared it with two different gps apps on my phone... Still couldn't get it to calibrator to the correct speed. Then the micro USB port completely broke off inside the control module.
Ok so i supercharged my gmc and the handheld device, sctx4, only allows for the engine tuning, no other adjustment. Would i be safe to use a hypertech to calibrate for the tires and gearing?
It might be best to reach out to Hypertech, but if you're running the same factory transmission I'm guessing it should work just fine for a tire and gearing change?
@TrashPandaGarage Bone stock 6l90e. Yeah I contacted both sct and hypertech. Won't hear back till Monday but I want as many opinions and as much knowledge I can find

Dang! Does Hypertech offer any sort of warranty?
@@TrashPandaGarage I have no idea. I will be calling their tech support tomorrow for sure.

Doesn't do much and now all of a sudden my transmission is fucking up after using it
