2001 Jaguar XK8 - Left Bank Ignition Coils, wiring harness, moisture concerns

  • In this video I briefly explain the main sources of moisture which can penetrate into the ignition coil / spark plug channels and affect ignition performance. I also remove the ignition coil cover, coil wiring harness, as well as the four ignition coils on the left engine bank (driver's side).

    Way too early to be worrying about changing plugs, those iridium plugs will go well over 150K miles. Not a bad idea though to remove them and hit the threads with some anti-seize. Ask anyone with an aluminum head Ford V8 from late 90's and beyond.

    There are four wires in the trunk near the spare tire. How are they connected?

      I am not sure, I'll have to take a look. You can probably get more insight into this by examining the "electrical guide" document for the vehicle, where all wiring diagrams, relays, modules, fuses etc. are laid out and explained.
