When I lived there years back there was a shop I went in that had a signed photo of Del Toro with the owner; he was a frequent customer.
There was a ton of awesome stuff there; I had to buy a second suitcase before I moved back 😅
That sounds like a good tactic, since not only would you not need to rearrange your main bag to put whatever you bought in, but you can also bring everything back home all at once.

same, thankfully Delta allows 2 free checked pieces of luggage, so I arrived with one, half full of clothes etc, and bought a second, filled both with souvenirs, to bring home with me
hey! just wanted to say (if someone else didn't) that tohru figure you got is made by FOTS. they're notorious for 3D printing their figures, and they're very prone to breaking and lean issues. many people who ordered that figure overseas did not receive her in tact. she's a beautiful figure and i'd hate to hear of anything happening to her, so please handle her very carefully and potentially consider finding an extra support for her tail!

Japan seems like such a fun place to travel to. For Pokémon fans it would be like going to paradise
I know that ProZD probably didn't need to, but if you're running low on space you can pack stuff much tighter if you remove everything from the boxes they come in. Especially things like figmas that come with little baggies to put everything in anyways. And if you want to keep the boxes just flatten them and store them along the outsides of the bag. Keeping the plastic figure holder molds will be trickier but sometimes you can stack them decently, honestly I'd say just cut your losses and get rid of em.
If you buy mugs, bottles, tins, etc. you can almost always also fill them with other trinkets or clothing too.
As an Anime figure collector, this post was very painful to read 😬
@@carolineholland5841 I think you mean complete-in-box-figure-collector haha. I display all the ones I buy so I don't need the rest. I tried the first trip to bring it all back but it just wasn't feasible!

If anybody is planning to go to Japan. I highly recommend packing a smaller suitcase inside a bigger suitcase to avoid purchasing one in Japan which will definitely be more expensive.
I do this all the time for cons and call it bagception 😉
If you want a good suitcase though you can just buy one at Muji once you're there. Expensive maybe, but very solid and will last a long time. Can't do it every trip unless you sell em off when you get back though! Haha.
But yeah, the suitcase inside another suitcase trick is pretty clutch if you already have some and don't want to buy any more.
I also pack clothes to leave behind. Cheap outfits, enough for the trip, no point wasting space hauling them back.

I just got back from Japan also. I also have had to buy additional suitcases to hold the amount of Japan I was bringing back to America.

Little late to this so this is more if someone is wondering and sees this comment first for the bigger buttons they are called can badges, though in the US everything tends to just buttons/pins. If you want somewhere to put them and don't mind holes in walls you can always stick them into the wall. What I do most of the time though I get it isn't the best decor wise to many people.

Nakano is pretty good for niche stuff, me and my friends found stuff we couldn't find elsewhere in Japan! Definitely the best place for hunting for collectibles.

I recommend folks bring a duffle bag inside a large suitcase so they can carry their clothes in the duffle. Hauling lots of suitcases is tiring lol.

Heh - I think we were probably in the same hotel in Sunshine City (but I was there a couple of weeks earlier, and bought all the coolest stuff ;).
Just went to Sunshine City's Pokemon Center and got some Charmander and Charizard plushes. So many people were there and I lined up an hour before the store opened. WILD experience
