    To answer your question - you activated the approach after you had already flown through the localiser so the AP would never have intercepted it. By the time you got back on you were well above the glidepath. Try activating earlier next time, the FMS should route you to the initial approach fix so you don't have to eyeball your self vectors.
    And even if you only run 1 checklist per flight - the before landing checklist is always a good bet 😂 keep it up!

      Yep it’s this :)
      If you are beyond a small deviation from the glideslope and localiser it won’t account for that. Ideally you want to vector yourself to the iaf at the right altitude and approximately right heading. Eg if you’d encountered the iaf at 3000’ and 055-065deg you’d likely have caught it.
      I’d be down for doing a guided IFR flight in the sf50

    Crying with laughter during that landing! Wasnt there a plane lined up when you landed? Lol.
    I love that you are prone to errors but ok with it... Unlike some TH-camrs!!

      Hahahaha - thank you!! I have to record the replay angle afterwards, so stay on VATSIM but in Observer mode. So there was only a plane lined up in the replay, thankfully, and they couldn’t see Marjorie and Ethel 😂

    The plane shouting "Stop! Stop!" at you during that landing was the icing on the cake!

    My biggest recommendation for planes like that is use your vnav on decent. When you turn that on, and lower the selected altitude, the plane will descend via the calculated decent path, following the constraints of the star. So basically once you get a descend via, or descend at pilot's discretion clearance, or just get close to top of decent on unicom, you just have to change the selected altitude to what you're cleared to, and the plane will do the rest. And just use flc if you're told to descend immediately. Also, if you do plan on doing more ifr, I would highly recommend the Honda Jet, it's by the same developers as the vision jet and uses the same avionics system, but in my opinion a bit more fun as it can fly faster, higher, and has a better climb performance. It's what I used to learn ifr on vatsim.

      All very helpful comments, thank you!! I do actually have the Hondajet in my hangar. I can’t remember why I didn’t like it as much as the VisionJet. I should maybe give it another go!

    That Sf50 is going to be grounded for a good while I think. In regards to the fuel you didn't need to worry as you have a safety chute. 😂
