That bass line is awesome! Im very impressed. They made it look easy. I marched for years with the now defunct Northstar. My sister was a trooper and phantom regiment. I ordered my tickets today for the Canton DCI show. Cant wait!
Just Brad thats so cool. Too bad I won't be as to see any East coast corps this year live. I'm going to the Rose Bowl show here in Pasadena, at least I get to see SCV and BD. Then just going going to catch the rest of the shows thru phatom events
phcasper I really wish I could see them live, but they don’t come out this way. I did see Roger Carter at the Rose Bowl show. There are some badass lines this year, but the Bluecoats are just so smooth and on another level right now.
All sections of marching percussion have made strides since 20 years ago when I marched, but it makes me feel so great to see the leaps and bounds that basslines have made in that time. Can you imagine the reaction if we saw this even 10 years ago up and down all 5 drums?
My son plays tenors! He was most outstanding percussionist 2 years in a row at his school! We saw the Bluecoats win at DCI in Knoxville last month! Unreal!!
The amount of respect I have for girls who audition for snare is extremely high. For some reason, they seem to gravitate towards Bass and Front Ensemble more.
I’m not doing any corps when I get out of high school but I love watching these and watching as the gap between my skill and there’s seems less impossible
I think Bluecoats had a girl on the snare line back in 2009 too who ended up marching Blue Devils in 2011. That Stephanie girl (Not the Stephanie who was center snare in 2013), wicked chops. Is that girl now the same one from Blue Knights?
fdsafdsafdsafdsafdasfdasfdsafdsa the hell, there is nothing wrong with making a freaking observation, I am well aware that there are a million of females in the art specifically during the while series but still pointing out that they have a female in the snare line is fine especially when she is freaking killing it with those tree trunk chops👍
Today I learned that the second spock drum on the quads is called a spook drum. Don't @ me, I'm on a high school snare line but I wanted to share this fact that blew my mind.
The beginning going into the warmup just sounds messy because not everyone stopped immediately. 2015 still has the best entrances to me. Loved the base splits though.
It’s kinda hard to have everyone stop hacking on the same exact count as everyone else by Roger just starting to play the drum set as a signal to be like hey we’re starting flam jam
one of snares is my marching bands percussion staff and we literally get best percussion in every competition we go to. search up UniversityBand on TH-cam and watch our boa performance because you can really here how good our percussion is in that video.
Drummer's minds are different, in a very good way, like many artists and musicians. Those of us who don't have "it" can only envy, admire, enjoy -- and try to do our own thing. They really should get more credit though.
The entrance solos are written, as well as the transitions, but the meat of the flam jam is just freestyle to a rhythm (in this case, triplet base). Just to get everyones hands warmed up. and then the end is just your stock 8-8-16 and accent tap, with some variations and tempo changes.
This is going to be a CLEAN ASS line!! The tenors sound awesome!!
Needs more 4 door minivan
Nathan Arata Slice me off a piece of that!
C'est le 1, c'est le 2, c'est le Scoooooby-Doo
Look up 'Stuff Bluecoats Say' on TH-cam :))
i feel so cool bc i got the joke idk why
Woooooo
SHE MADE THE LINE!!! I remember her from Broken City! Grats to her!!!!
Hi Gin
She’s kicking ass too
Gibby
I’m just at work smiling at how beautiful this was. That bass line!!! One of the best lines for sure! Greetings from Los Angeles CA.

Yeah. Blu bass is toping the charts for best bassline this so far.
phcasper I really wish I could see them live, but they don’t come out this way. I did see Roger Carter at the Rose Bowl show. There are some badass lines this year, but the Bluecoats are just so smooth and on another level right now.
Just Brad I just got my tickets for the DCI East: Tour of Champions show! Gonna see them on the first of August.
y’all gibby from chino hills is marching bluecoats now wth
Miguel Lomas yooooooo he issss👌🏽👌🏽
on the babeline insta "meet the babe" his player specific question was "how often do you get confused for gibby from iCarly"
literally went to the comments to say the same thing lol
Ikr mans is all grown up
Do y'all think he's staying with the 'coats?
i LOVE the crescendo lead in by the basses for the final rep of eights at 6:35
yoletsgetpizza and peep the 5 let at 6:51
Center snare definitely needs a better tap off with that
Rafael Arechiga yep just like Kyle did but I’m sure he’ll have one by the beginning of the season
Z A C H A R Y H A S A R R I V E D
Technically he joined the server in 2017 in the Blue Stars.
OMG! THOSE BASS ROLLS SOUND LIKE IT'S GROWLING! Nice!
very tight!
Those splits between high battery and low battery, and those off beat buggudas splits between high and low battery
Bloo bass in Hotttttt this year
Spencer Harris 5:21
Damn I’ve been around this activity for a long time and that may be the best bass line I’ve ever seen/heard
Bass drums - outstanding. Get you some. And those are just the warmups. Mad skills.

The Coats bassline always makes me smile.
I love how casual these guys are, got the privilege to see one of their lots in person and I was not disappointed.
Looks to me Like Blue Knights lost half of their Drumline
IS THAT ZACH FROM CHINO HILLS
Edit: fixed "Gibby"
Ishan Bogetto YES ITS FUCKING ZACH
no
That Bassline is so clean.
Yes God, Bass
The amount of respect I have for girls who audition for snare is extremely high. For some reason, they seem to gravitate towards Bass and Front Ensemble more.
frank javier female tenor players are where it’s at, at my old highschool our drumline section leader was a sophomore female tenor player
We have a section leader snare kyla and shes fucking insane
Stfu nerd
@@fazesupersoaker5716 ok
I’m not doing any corps when I get out of high school but I love watching these and watching as the gap between my skill and there’s seems less impossible
Good to see David from war tech studio!
John Garrison yup
3:34 RIP Vortex
thats been the ending to flam jam since the beginning
Super excited about this drumline! Let's go Blooooooooo!
What is that Bass LIne?! Just WOW!
I havent enjoyed a flam jam as much as this since 2015
their basses are always so clean
No wonder they're knocking on the door this year. Killer drums...!
5:18
6:04
6:24
6:34
Boy, the bass part gets tastier every year.
98.9% of all drummers around the world just fell in love with her.
Her boyfriend is on the bass line :^)
Team Japan esketit (and yup, bass 2)
He's part of the 98.9% too
I didn’t know there was porn on youtube
the coordination is so satisfying
Lol watching corps is so much more fun than marching now that I look back on it. I love the coats, they are gonna be clean this year early.
Loving those blue covers.
Anyone else love the sound of that kick?
why do i always come back to this video
DCI is fun to watch at 2x playback speed!
They've finally got a girl on there snareline👍
I think Bluecoats had a girl on the snare line back in 2009 too who ended up marching Blue Devils in 2011. That Stephanie girl (Not the Stephanie who was center snare in 2013), wicked chops. Is that girl now the same one from Blue Knights?
blakman7 no
2010 Stephanie 2011 Nicole
I think there was one in 2006 too
blakman7 yeah it's the same girl from bk last year
fdsafdsafdsafdsafdasfdasfdsafdsa the hell, there is nothing wrong with making a freaking observation, I am well aware that there are a million of females in the art specifically during the while series but still pointing out that they have a female in the snare line is fine especially when she is freaking killing it with those tree trunk chops👍
Is that gibby from chino hills
Flam jam has to be the coolest warmup in all of DCI
Today I learned that the second spock drum on the quads is called a spook drum. Don't @ me, I'm on a high school snare line but I wanted to share this fact that blew my mind.
If someone did a video breakdown of the snare and tenner music, it would be great.
I can't believe that zach wilson is on the bluecoats
I KNOW RIGHT!?
He’s got relaxed but strong hands
Gibby!
I don't see him 😫
SAME. Watch him branch out has been incredible.
I met the center quad here in Dayton, super nice person!
What's his name?
The beginning going into the warmup just sounds messy because not everyone stopped immediately. 2015 still has the best entrances to me. Loved the base splits though.
Chase Martin I think they did that on purpose
It’s kinda hard to have everyone stop hacking on the same exact count as everyone else by Roger just starting to play the drum set as a signal to be like hey we’re starting flam jam
I agree 2015 flamjam is the best one 💯🥁
They did that on purpose.
I can only assume it's hard for everyone to stop at the same time if their just sitting there hacking instead of playing together
BASSES YES
Definitely cant wait for dci southwest
5:20 Dayum those off beat sixtuplets
Those aren't sixtuplets. Still eighth notes, just shifted one 16th partial over.
Brian Regala then those r more or less 32 notes
Joseph Burns I can see how you’d interpret that. I just figured with the tempo they’re going at that point, it would still be 8th notes
Brian Regala they r playing at like 200 bpm at the point but they could also be 16th notes up the drums
Joseph Burns they’d just be 16th notes
THAT LEFT FULL SHOT OMG 0:46
one of snares is my marching bands percussion staff and we literally get best percussion in every competition we go to. search up UniversityBand on TH-cam and watch our boa performance because you can really here how good our percussion is in that video.
Tonight's show(s) will be fire

Nice! And loving the Bucee's Texas love from the tenor! :)
SRINDOG LAYING IT DOWN WITH THOSE ROLLS 😍
OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like they've got a good line going this year.
Best flam jam I heard from them 😎😎
I have a favorite drummer in this drumline.......
Tenor solos are straight fire
Yes, finally
Dude Gibby looks so happy to be there’s it’s insane lol
THAT BASS LINE WOAH
Them basses tho! Fire AF! 🔥
the girl on the snare line makes me so proud to be a girl in drum line :)))
Roger Carter----I have a set of these dope hihats! They are the bomb!!!
now the question is, clear tape or no tape?
Bianca Law it truly is, I would be really caught off guard with no tape
Kelly Young I would usually assume clear tape but the quads’ sticks are super beat so i’m not entirely sure
I'm just excited because untaped sticks sound great
What kind of sticks do they use?
Jordan DeLeon IP Jim Casella’s
Sick
The best thing about this is my boy representing Buccee's
That split at 6:03 is tasty. Especially with the top/bottom split towards the end. You gotta have TRUST to do that.
Ya Bass.
can we get a breakdown of the center snare’s solo?
Maybe we can get it when we see them again at the tour opener
FloMarching Sweet!
Incredible
I remember those days. Just the all surrounding, miserable heat. But at least you didn’t have to march for a few hours during sectionals.
Out of all this I found most interesting is that the tenors have pockets on the side of their covers
So good
Those quad solos tho
AYEEE MY MAN GIBBY FROM CHINO MADE IT INTO THE BLUECOATS LETS GOOOO
Put speed at 1.5
All the gibby comments are giving me life!!!! Band camp in 29 days :)
Just not the same with out Landon :(
Griffin Garner nothing ever will be, drum Corp has lost one of its best
Agreed :(
Damn, Ya'll sound like he died. I'm sure he's break dancing somewhere with a drum on.
JP sKetChEs I bet he’s breakdancing in heaven now ;-;
Death by age-out
Jordan, the bass 1, is our drum tech
You go to Springs?
Pretty in pink.
i might be a mello but i gotta pay respects to the teamwork on that skank at 1:18
can anyone tell me what happened to Napoleon Dynamite dude next to the Zach's?
Is Flam Jam sheet music or do people make it up as they go? Either way its really neat.
The entrance solos are written, as well as the transitions, but the meat of the flam jam is just freestyle to a rhythm (in this case, triplet base). Just to get everyones hands warmed up. and then the end is just your stock 8-8-16 and accent tap, with some variations and tempo changes.
Shawn Mendes is finally at the top of the tenor line
SICK! JUST SIIIIICK!
YES🔥🔥🔥
Nice!
3:30 not gone lie, that got me hype lol
Top shelf
GIBBBBBYYYYY
