Ten Hag was not lying. There are laws that forbid clubs to do what Ineos did in The Netherlands. And in other countries as well. It is seen as highly disrespectfull and managers are more protected. That is why he was asked about it by the interviewer. And Erik answered correct by saying that law does not exist in England and he actually defended the EPL for not having that law. The football and media is different and way bigger in England and the club has the right to do this. They came to Erik on his holiday adress. They said to him they talked to other managers. And eventually decided they have the best manager for the job already in house to proceed with building on young players. And so they where offering an extention for his contract. That is exactly word for word what Erik said. I seen the interview. I seen what the other pundits tried to get out of him. And he did not fall for it. He was respectfull and based. And not the arrogant prick the English media tries to put down.

I think it's a big big mistake not hiring De Zerbi. Brighton outplayed Manchester United last season, they just didn't score in the last game. Brighton is the closest team to City in possession, but they also play more vertical. Imagine what De Zerbi can do with better players? With a shorter time he had Brighton playing better than Manchester United with lesser players. Manchester United is going to regret not hiring him, because i just seeing him getting better and better.

We need performance based contracts. Weekly incentives to get selected in line-ups, provide assists and goals, keep clean sheets etc. both personal and team based. That should be where players get to earn $$$. Maybe even incentives for just performing well in training.
How a player can earn > 300k weekly without guaranteed minimum performance levels is beyond logic.

The only way Olise could've come in is if United had moved on Sancho , Antony and Greenwood. These players either don't want to be there or don't fit in anymore. That's the only way to secure the full fee and pay his wages.
