New stadium. No disruption.. For a quarter of the cost more.
As a Liverpool fan we have slowly been renovating Anfield it's taken 10 years to renovate half the stadium, no investment in the area, no investment in public transportation and personally I'm not all that amazed by the actual development
I'd say with a land that Manchester United have you are far better Just building a new stadium right by the old one. You keep your area with an updated stadium. You can always make new memories.
The fact it hasn’t been redeveloped migyy by benefit Liverpool. The stadium and the areas often intimidate teams to help the team win. It’s a useful advantage.
new stadium then we can continue playing at Old Trafford
Renovating the current stadium would take upto 10 years so if they get the money build a new stadium.🇾🇪🇾🇪🇾🇪
No government money should go into the new stadium that Manchester United build. Absolutely NONE.
If the club can't afford to build a new stadium themselves, then tough. They should have thought of this years ago, and put sufficient money aside for such a project.
If Old Trafford becomes too unsafe for matches to be played at, in say 5 years time - then they can go and play their home games at the Etihad.
What next, United asking City for money for their new stadium?!! lol
Build a new 90,000 stadium then bring original stadium back to circa 1994 era when the cantilever roof was finally completed.
You just spew nonsense, do you know how much it take to build 90, 000 stadium? All Manchester united need is new facilities for now.
Renovate things that is so old and out of date its not easy/cheap option. Based on the fact that the club stil can play at old trafford during process i think building a new bigger/better stadium is the right thing to do.
Totally agree although where would the money come from to do that
The glazers should pay £1b 😮😂😂😂and sir Jim pay £1b brand new stadium
They wont even spend £1 on the project
@@Mohammed5i Sir Jim doesnt have 1bn liquid cash...his moeny is all tied up. He took a loan to buy his share of United
@@jamiehall8272 😶😫
Don’t forget all the amazing moments from rugby league that’s been played at old Trafford as well
gotta visit old trafford before its rebuilt. its been my dream since childhood
Let them play at Wembley , it would be easier to get to for most of their fans anyway
Tottenham's new Stadium is breathtaking, other clubs like Man Utd need to think at that level. The revenue they get from matchday's, concerts, boxing events NFL must be staggering.
This is a similar situation that is happening in Spain between Madrid and Barcelona, like is said in the video. However, like Real Madrid, the history of Old Trafford is infinate, and the 'Theatre of Dreams' has become an iconic global destination. Although, a new build would bring more jobs to the local Manchester community, but, surely a rebuild is what the club needs to retain the legacy.
History of Santiago bernabeau preceeds old traford but whatever mat3
As long as the new stadium is built within the existing land owned by the club, I prefer a new build. Some of the existing infrastructure of the stadium is ancient. Play at current ground while building new then use a down sized old stadium for women’s and youth teams
@@meiling7437 yea aside from Old Trafford being 37 years older than the Bernabeau
The legacy that Old Trafford holds is unmatched in England or Europe, as a Man Utd fan it would be really hard to let go of that, despite the new stadium getting built on the same property. Whatever the decision maybe, I hope that they retain to pillared structure, make new innovations on that philosphy rather than going for a "Bernabeuesque" structure, it is the signature of our stadium.
New stadium 🏟
I'm a Liverpool fan and I will say Man United to build a new Stadium 🏟️ of 100,000 capacity once for the future
If it the renovation plan didn't displace the club, I would personally prefer the renovation...but a new build may provide more freedom on innovation and landmark status. Keep Old Trafford for academy, Women's team, etc.
Bro Ur the most underrated content creator out rn
Thanks, bro! Your support keeps me going!
Agreed. Great content and only 431 subs?! I think you are about to rocket my friend, good luck!
@@iceetmarne3571thank you so much! I will keep working hard
Thinking outside the box, how about demolishing OT and starting again but renting Goodison Park for a couple of seasons? Man City will never share and I don’t think it’s that far from Manchester? Just a thought, I’m sure Everton could use the money as well.
Build a New Stadium while we keep playing there. Then rip the roof and plasters at OT and renovate it for the Women and Academy
Build a new OT stadium - WEMBLEY of the NORTH, should be first priority. Or renovate the OT as a second thought
United needs a new stadium sometimes its just gone beyond repair because it will keep giving problems. We need to move with the times and if your gonna spend that much to renovate it might as well build a new one that more leliable. Well narrated and great analysis.
New Stadium is the only way forward for Man Utd
NEW NEW NEW
keeping the old stadium is only for memories new and improved stadium is the future
New Stadium
I think they should renovate the new stadium and prevent the problems like rain leaking , concrete expiration, and sun burnt seats then they could use other money for transfers which will make the team super which would give them even more money next season if they become successful
A new stadium with 100k capacity, however, a retractable roof is a must. This would allow multinational events to take place at the stadium, think concerts, Wrestlemania, Super Bowl.
New stadium!
New! Keeping revenue coming in.
The suns reflection from the stadium onto the residents would cause a problem with that big silver toilet bown design
Nice
Build a complete brand new stadium will be easier and have to the room to expand further in the future
Build a new 100:000 stadium 🏟️
100k but a stadium that this country has never seen before too. Dont want another bog standard stadium. Make us say wow. Maybe one side of the stadium can be open top like the nou camp? Make it high tier - lofty. I just want to be wowed and want to come back
@@Mohammed5iopen top stadium lol you've clearly never been to Manchester. No one has open top stadiums in England for a reason - it doesn't stop raining!!! And Manchester is the wettest area of England.
@@Stan.k.Phlaps6447 Open top with a retractable roof? Want a stadium the country hasnt seen before. Even if one stand is open top would be amazing. I like how the sansiro is semi open top. Amazing stadium. Just dont want the bog standard stadium
@@Mohammed5i forget an open top stadium in England. It's never going to happen. United doesn't need any gimmicks for a new stadium. It needs one that looks good, has the largest capacity and is built to last for a very long time. That's all.
@@Stan.k.Phlaps6447 Agree with all you said...but it can still have an open top roof? Somethig unique. A retractable roof that can be shut when it rains. I just want a new design that blows the whole country over. No one can come near us lol i like how the san siro is. They have stands that are lofty and semi open. It would be spectacluar
Only way is a new stadium
New stadium, I believe the money Sir Jim is looking to get from the government is for infrastructure investment around the stadium not the stadium it's self. Roads, trains, canal, bus services, maybe tax relief onto he project.
They should build the new stadium
New 100,000 stadium
Sabastian Coe isn't a Politician, he's a Lord in the house of rubbish.
But didn't Sebastian Coe say his "not in the business of building football grounds."
@@devilcat9843 And your point?
Theatre of streams you mean
Man United can finance this stadium themselves. NO government money should go into the building of it, or any other football stadium in the UK.
United, and indeed the PL have enough money 'sloshing' around, without going begging to the government.
It's completely unacceptable that United are wanting the UK government to help them finance it.
please make it 200000 seater so i can get tickets 😂
even 100000 won't cover the waiting list
New stadium, please
OK
Build the New Trafford
They could play at Goodison Park whilst the work takes place. It’s not that much further to travel to from London.
Keep the history, that's all I'm saying
Manchester United should build a new stadium because the old stadium is falling apart and wants too much money spending on it
Well As A United Fan I actually like Old Trafford but I like it to Upgrade itself we can't Give up the Theatre Of Dreams
Ratcliffe wants a new stadium but also wants the Government to pay for at least part of it, as a “Wembley of the north”. Good luck with that Jim. lol
no he doesnt. he wants the govt to pay for the development of the surrounding area, this drives jobs, infrastructure etc to the area.
The government won't pay for the stadium.
He wants the infrastructure funded like transport links and a new railway station
And they call us for our stadium now they want the council to pay for there's biggest club my ar$e😂😂
@@garrylapham7469 in English?
They should call the new stadium, TRAFFORD. Drop the the "old". Just TRAFFORD, The Theater of Dreams.
Build a new stadium
Sir Ratcliffe??? It's Sir Jim.
no money, no funding, no stadium lol
Build new stadium, the theatre of dreams
united could use the wembley
You'll still have the Glazers.....
A New stadium build from 0 is way more logic in terms of durability, size and modernism. A New 90000-100000 seats stadium is the best option. And while this stadium is build the team can play on this one and after the Old stadium should be demolished
the railway line on the south stand is the problem
It is Sir Jim not Sir Ratcliffe when you talk about him not using his full name. Just something non Brits don't understand.
Do you mean Mr asset stripper tax evading Creep ?
Most fans would agree that a new stadium is what we need. But im not convinced by any of these mock ups - they all look hideous. Hope we look at the bernabeu and nou camp and follow suit. Make a stadium this country hasnt seen before. Maybe one stand could be roofless and open air. Would be spectaular. I know it rains in manchester. But maybe a retractable roof would help. Give us a stadium weve never seen before. 90k-100k seats. Make us say wow
27.8%
No public money should be given to this project.. Birmingham City owners are going to fund a 3 billion project on a new stadium without help so I'm sure Manchester United are able to fund there's
Not sure United can afford to fix the roof, let alone pay for a new stadium! 😂😂😂
I Wish New New
Walk in.
Watch match.
Walk out.
2 hours.
Get back to reality.
It's only a game.
You forgot to mention no one have money to afford those luxuries in the current cost of living crisis 😂
Why would a government pay people who pay their workers hundreds of thousands of pounds a week, to build a stadium?
New build
Why should the British government cough up money for a private investment?
I assume it'd be a loan that they'll pay back with interest.
Tell the world you don’t understand economics without telling us
West Ham springs to mind….
@@KevinCleghorn please explain west ham example?
I would seriously object to my taxes being used to help fund any new developments. Ratcliffe is a multi billionaire and responsible for football operations so he should either cough up the cash himself or ask the actual owners to cover it. The state of the ground has been a standing joke for a long time and cannot have come as a surprise.
Pay the debt off first
Refeburish old Trafford stadium completely that means for the time been Manchester United play there premier League and European home games at Leigh's sports village stadium or AJ bell stadium be interesting
A new stadium would be nice, but theres so much history and legends that have walked that tunnel and played on that pitch. Be a shame to see that go... And the new designs are horid, as long as any new stadium has some form of character beyond being a chrome ring.....
Build a new one
It’s will never be the Wembley of the north, it’s just old Trafford.
Ya getting the gov to fund it is opening a huge cab of worms. How will fifa fair play regulate it ? Also fans of other teams will be pissed they are paying. They could just sell some land off to a hotep developer or sth.
Funnny
They havent got enough to buy players!
Who the f**k is "Sir Ratcliffe" ?
Big stadiam for a small club
i would much rather we renovate Old Trafford, there's so much history in the bones of that stadium, would be so sad to see it gone completely
What about the holes in the roof and the rodent infestation?
The issue of renovation which by the way as a United fan I don’t object to,is that we would have to vacate Old Trafford and where would we play?
City will not want us at The Etihad.
Bolton and Wigan are far too small.
And playing in Liverpool is not an option either.
Sometimes change is good we can't only look back at history and past success we need to write new glory in a new chapter and as said in the bones we all know that bones get old and brittle with time it's time for complete change and to re write the history books we are becoming shambolic holding onto history of this stadium and the new one will be right next door the club will remain the same and old Trafford always in our hearts and minds let's have the centre piece of football restored on a club level not a piece of what used to be the best
@@Robbiewa-bg4lu Perhaps hire City’s secondary stadium, its 7,000 capacity would more than accommodate the local United fans.
As I understand it if a new stadium is to be built the existing one would not be entirely lost. I have seen it suggested that part of the existing stadium will survive and that a smaller stadium be on the existing site.
Now that could be used by the women’s team or even host other sports like rugby league or union.
Without being shy Old Trafford is a Dump compared to the MCG in Melb
Even a Billion quid today would buy you nothing these days, try 5 Billion
Oz has 5 Major stadiums that all blow UK efforts to shame
At Optus in Perth you can watch the game live while chucking a slash
The Glazers have given it the go-ahead. They've already ordered some MDF an tile grout from Wickes.
Ineos pr team 😂
United get batterd by city
Build new
Who paying for that
Funny spent 1 billion on player only few player has be worth the money like hojlund there are upcoming world superstar.
Won't happen for 1billion.. 😅
New Trafford😂
I can't believe Ratcliffe's cheek , asking for government funding to help develop OT . Arsenal, Spurs & Everton didn't go cap-in-hand begging for support from tax-payer money to build new stadiums .
Spurs and Everton literally did though..
I'd need to look up Emirates but I'm sure they would have taken tax breaks or subsidies in the process too...
@eyeballjellyforbreakfast explain further how those clubs went cap in hand for tax payers money. Because I know Everton haven't. Everton received 15 or so million to help with the restoration of the assets on site but that was not begging for money. I'm sure man utd would get something along those lines for road improvements, new access ways.
The difference is Radcliffe wants hundreds of millions for one of the richest clubs in the world.
Revamp The Stadium the same way they did The Bernabeu .... Increase the capacity to 100 000
Never gonna happen😂
"The world's greatest football club" ...yeah , if you say so. Do not mix up medicines, man. Read the prescriptions and the side effects. Oh, our benevolent english overlords, we love you !!!
So why do taxpayers have to pay for this ….
Theatre of wet dreams now 😂😂😂
turning it into a shite american bowl arena
It’s going to be called HS2 😂 Amazing idea but it never happens lots of money spent bugge all to show for it.
I HATE SEBASTIEN COE!
HORSESHIT. NO UPGRADE IS PLANNED.
Old Trafford is nothing more than a big heap of scrap metal.
New stadium. you wish .Ratcliffe is full of shite...😂😂😂
I hate united, so I say stay in their leaky shed
Yawn.
No happening.
Another yawn.
