I have never heard a bad word being spoken in regards to John, he was a terrific actor who has left us with some timeless movies and characters but he was also a terrific husband and father, he made sure he spent valuable time with his kids… something few Hollywood stars seem to do nowadays. I would say Planes, Trains and Automobiles is my fav movie of his… I like them all but that particular character just pulls me in, he’s an optimist with a good heart, much like John in real life with the things he done off camera. R.I.P John
Thanks for that, he is beloved & missed (there's a very active facebook page Long live John Candy) I hope to pay respects next time I'm in CA. A simliar video of Michael Landon brought me to seek John's, they and I, all born Oct. 31, they, gone too soon, I feel this will help me easily find they're resting spots to pay respect to two fine, make you smile, gone too soon, gentlemen...
It's funny that spaghetti was his last meal. I was driving after running an errand back in 1993. I couldn't help but notice a really nice tan Jaguar at the stoplight. Then I noticed a really large sandy haired man driving it in a very well tailored tan suit. You don't often see a large man like that in a suit that fits him so impeccably. I'm originally from a big city, and I notice things like that. His hair was well cut too. There was something so familiar about the large, well-groomed man as I turned my car left driving past him. I was able to get a good look then. The man realized I was starring at him, and he surprised me by raising his hand, and waving as he gave me a big friendly grin. As I made my turn, I realized it was John Candy! He must have thought I recognized him by the way I was starring, and he gave me that Uncle Buck wave, but I really hadn't realized who he was yet. By the time I did, he seemed so friendly and genuine, that I decided to turn my car around and offer him an invaration to a home cooked meal with us. He had to be traveling to be in my town. I make a really mean spaghetti, and I had a pot of Sunday sauce simmering on the stove all day. I thought he might prefer a home cooked meal instead of just another restaurant dish. Unfortunately, it was a busy intersection, and he was long gone by the time I finally got back to that area. It may have been crazy to get it into my mind to try to find him and invite him, but I know he would have loved my spaghetti! I'm an excellent from scratch cook, and though my means were humble back then, I'd of felt confident to serve my spaghetti to a king. I miss seeing John Candy on the screen.
Very sad. I have a ticket stub from one of his last movies. I'm going to keep it as a reminder in my wallet for the rest of my life. I won't say which movie, it'll be our little secret. What a rare kind soul he was, he's in one of God's mansions now.
Looks like 1994 was a crappy year for a lot of people. First John Candy, then Kurt Cobain, then in June, my Daughter's Mom took her, and left me. Screw 1994!!!!
He's right. How could you not like this guy. He was so endearing & such a natural comic. His loss still & always will hurt.
Cool runnings
Love John Candy. Lost way too soon.

March 4, 1994 was a Friday just like this year...
Sure hope he loved and believed in Jesus ❤
He was Catholic, so maybe he did. Maybe.
Catholics believe the Virgin Mary is the be all, end all though.
He also had a Saturday morning cartoon on NBC called Camp Candy.
Gone too soon ❤️
