    Saw one at the dealer today. Nice looking machine and that's from someone who usually doesn't like the Triumph look. It's quite expensive and IMHO has enough performance to really need the 2nd front disk.

    • @TheMissendenFlyer
      @TheMissendenFlyer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I agree, the brakes do need a bit of an upgrade for the next iteration....Triumph is pretty good at listening to it's customers so let's see what happens...

    Took one out for a test ride a few weeks back. Absolutely gorgeous to look at and listen to. I'd love to have one for posing around and simply admire, but sadly I need a proper commuting bike which this isn't. As you say, fine in town but 70% of my commute is motorway which would become painful. That said, come the lottery win I'll have one in the garage.

    Nice looking copies of Amal monoblock carbs to go with the period look. Sounds quite nice when you opened the throttle in 3rd. Not my kind of bike but a good option for guys who like to customise

    A great-looking bike if nostalgia is one's thing. A really period rear-end (?). I like it. I await more reports with anticipation. Hilarious comments on the Cee'd.

    I'm glad I chose the Kawasaki W 800 Street from 2019. And what's with all the warnings on the tank?
    I only see plastic, plastic, plastic on the Bobber.
    But the sound is nice.

    I love that bike so much. Don't do old school as you know but I'd have one of those in a heartbeat. Triumph need to let me have one on a really long term or permanent loan.

    I’ve sat on one of these on a triumph retailer and instantly fell in love with it, it’s even way more comfortable than the street twin which was right next to it, at least for me. Would you say the bobber is the best triumph for weekend strolls?

  • @jeffreyhurst9552

    I swapped my 2015 Street Triple Rx for the Bobber, in ironstone, and I absolutely love it! It's agile and goes like stink, and sounds amazing. The riding position takes a little adjusting to but isn't weird or uncomfortable, I just couldn't find the pegs in the beginning. I do not regret my decision at all. I just wish my helmet matched the bike better :P

    10:14 Surely it's 'aitch' mate. Cheerio and all that. Great test though - I rode one last week for a few hours, and I agree with what you've said. Apart from the front brake which requires a good handful to haul up from high speed, and the short travel of the suspension it suited me perfectly. The only problem I have is having to sell my Street Triple R to help fund the purchase. I wish I could keep both. :-)

    With regards to the brakes, you say you have to use the rear and the front, when in general would you use just the rear brake in preference to the the front or vice versa?

    • @TheMissendenFlyer
      @TheMissendenFlyer  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well you may use just the rear if you are riding at very slow speeds, filtering or manoeuvring or if you wanted to steady the bike through a corner, the front brake you use pretty much for everything else....

    I am not a fan of Bobbers or HD's , but Triumph have been clever with this one. modern engine & suspension, the fake carbs work on this style bike even more to me. like you the colour does not work too well. when the T120 came out I could not wait for a test ride which I didn't enjoy, but some how this could one to have another go with the Bonnie engines looks fun in a strange way. Good initial review Sir. I like the looks, ('cept, like yourself, the fake carbs,) and am actually considering one as a future purchase. Lack of braking power is a bit off-putting for me though, although I guess there will be upgrades available that might improve feel/power. Really looking forward to seeing how you get along with the Bobber - thanks for sharing and enjoy!

    This is a great bike. My choice for my first bike is this or the trident 660. Two very different bikes of course. I prefer this one over trident. But there is the cost difference. Ill test em both. Great review.

      @@TheMissendenFlyer ok. One last question. 2021 street twin compared to trident 660. Again very different bikes. I’m very drawn to the all black street twin. Will it be as much fun to ride as the trident. Yes. I will test them both of course in the spring

    Another really precise review mate from what you said about the bike one of it's main competitors would be the Indian Scout which I own not too sure if you could get your hands on one to compare but it would be interesting if you could just to get your views.

    this bike looks better then the Harley Davidson 48 if they would have done dual-disc front brakes they could have raised the price a little bit more and still probably been cheaper than the 48 and had a way more kick ass machine I give this my two thumbs up but I will have to test ride one to be sure also like the traction feature for rain given the torque

    I imagine Triumph are trying to give us a factory custom Bonneville but without the price that somewhere like Krazy Horse customs or another custom bike builder would charge. Still pretty pricey for what it is. How about a vlog on the cost of new motorcycles and why this is happening. I would have thought with most manufacturers moving their production lines to places like India and Indonesia their costs would have decreased. Are they just being greedy or what?

    • @TheMissendenFlyer
      @TheMissendenFlyer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indian factories tend to be to get round their import rules. They tend to be re-assmbly plants in the main. Triumph have been making parts and bikes in Thailand since 2002 and a lot of manufacturers have been getting parts made there for just as long
