Throwing a hypothesis out there: Gideon had trouble bringing heavy forces to bear, so he wasn't behind the tie fighter and bomber attack, nor was his former officer carrying out his orders. I feel like it's really hard to get a read on Bo's motives here, and I find her really interesting because of that. Is she happy to join the Children of the Watch? Does she just want a clan to belong to again? Does she want to manipulate and use them to regain the title of Mandalore? Does she just want to be alone and sit on a chair in a castle on some middle of nowhere planet? Why did she hide the Mythosaur from Din? Does that help her in any way? Is she really friends with him or is she plotting to challenge him for the Darksaber? Questions!

I don't think she's happy nor angry but overwhelmed and surprised on how fast the Children welcomed her versus her previous people left her to be mercenaries. All of this racing through her mind, actually... She's having a change of heart (a core Lucasy concept) and is dumbfounded.
Mike put it so gracefully with "none of the other paths worked.... she reliazes that indeed, THIS, is THE way"
In fact they all might end up reaching a middle ground. She was right about the planet's condition, the Children were right about the planet's sacrality.

I have a feeling that they're definitely setting up Paz Vizsla as a minor antagonist. He already doesn't like the fact that Din has the darksaber (especially since a Vizsla created it) and was an apostate, and he definitely doesn't like Bo Katan since she's from the part of Mandalorian society that hasn't followed the way for a very long time.
I'm not sure where they'll take it from there, but they might have Paz defeat Din (but not kill him obviously), and have Bo defeat Paz to become the rightful wielder of the darksaber. The fact that she was the one who actually saw the Mythosaur makes me think this a little more.

This felt like we got 2 episodes at once! The half with Dr. Pen Pershing and Elia Kane was VERY intriguing. I actually did believe at the end that Elia had Pen’s back but then she upped the voltage on that mind flayer and then just stared at him with those scary ass eyes. My theory is that she is trying to break Pen’s faith in the New Republic by making it seem like they are torturing him while she takes advantage of his naïveté. Katy O’Brian definitely stole the show this episode, hope she gets more roles out of this.
As for Din and Bo, now that Bo is essentially homeless and Din has redeemed himself in the eyes of his sect of Mandalorians I’m very interested in seeing where he goes from here. And Bo has now been “redeemed” since she has also bathed in the living waters (which I’m very curious about those waters because that glow was very alarming) and since she is now back with a new clan what’s her next move?

The stuff on Coruscant was fascinating. The New Republic is more like Empire Lite than they realize and you see the seeds of their downfall being sown. Pershing's life on Coruscant is very much like Karn's in Andor. And the Mind Flayer was lot like a similar device seen a couple of times in Star Trek TOS. Same overall form and function

As jarring as the 'obvious CGI' is on Coruscant, I think it's intentional. Stylistically, the dated effects of the prequels became synonymous with people's adoration for those films. So I LIKE that when we went back to that planet, all of a sudden the background effects went back in time from the modern Volume to the 90's Bluescreens, as if the aesthetic is a part of Coruscant's atmosphere.

You basically do a vertical, stall your plane and use the rudder to keep you facing up for as long as possible as you fall to the ground, then apply power as you face the ground and pull out of the dive

Emily Swallow has been showing her face a lot at premiers, what if it’s preparing us to see her face. And Jon Favrou is unavailable to film as Paz so they changed his voice to match the face underneath the helmet. My theory

I saw an interview with Katee, and Michael could be right that she was just questioning herself if she really did see something down there. So maybe there was nothing really sinister about her not telling Din about the mythosaur.
Also, Bo-Katan = "convert" and Elia = "convert".
Elia surely will spell trouble for the New Republic.
Will Bo-Katan do so, too, for the Covert? Or will her presence there be for good? For her good, or for the Mandalorians' good? Who will influence who?
