@@Rocket1377 I've seen a lot of complaints on this season in general though, people feeling like it's "filler", like it's not focused enough on Din. Meanwhile this might be my favourite season of this show so far. But this has always been the case in this fandom.
I don't think the Armorer was gaslighting Bo. From her point of view, Bo was another Mandalorian that claimed seeing a real life Mythosaur. For her it's another "not the first, won't be the last" type of encounter. We, the audience, know Bo saw a real one. However, saying you saw something believed to be extinct and getting other people to believe you is very challenging.
Yup this, I've seen several people be upset that the Armorer didn't seem to believe Bo or dismissed her, but like if I walk up to someone and told them I'd seen a Stegosaurus I doubt anyone would believe me 🤣

A much better episode than the previous one (in my personal opinion).
All due respect to Lee Issac Chung (director of Minari), but I dug Carl Weathers and his direction better. Writing is still up for debate. I'm positive that Lee directed a great episode with "The Convert". I just personally wasn't feeling it.
I'm almost positive that this show will end with Grogu is going to be the title card character, and that this whole show is made to have a Mandalorian/Jedi hybrid.
The stuff with Bo-Katan is still interesting. I don't know her endgame, but I also don't know her mindset at the end of an episode. The Armorer is also mysterious. What does she know really???
Now, regarding the Ahmed Best cameo: it's very poetic that he once played a character fans HATED, and has returned to Star Wars to play a character fans will love. I'm proud of him, and I hope he sees the reaction online to him.
We now have 4 episodes left, and I really, really hope we get more meaty stuff as we approach the end of this season.

in episode 3 season 2, Din tips his helmet to eat soup when alone with Grogu. They probably do that if needed, but it's probably easier to walk off and eat comfortably. They don't have to find a place to *hide*, just not be in direct line of sight.

You know, with everyone's super positive reaction to Ahmed Best's return I think I finally figured something out that I haven't been able to put into words before now. Star Wars fans are like a mix between a grumpy old man and a moody 14 year old. We are not happy with new things that come out and desperately cling to how things USED to be done (e.g. when the prequels first came out); and at the same time we are the moody teen who takes a long time before we realize that it is okay to just like something, even if other people are saying it's lame.
We are now at the point where we can look back at all those things we maligned when we were "younger" and just enjoy them for what they are.
I really hope this trend continues of bringing back things from the past that got too much hate and giving these people, characters, and ideas the attention and praise that they deserve.
I can't speak for _every_ Star Wars fan who disliked the prequels, but I don't think it's a case of not liking new things. If that were true, there'd be a lot more hate for this show, Boba Fett's show, and Andor. For me, it's all about quality -- and imo, the quality of the prequels was far below the original trilogy. Some of the later movies came a bit closer, but were missing a lot of the magic. Mando and Boba and Cassian, et al, are bringing back that magic. And they're doing it not as strictly fan service and nothing more, but by challenging us with new ideas plus new ways of telling the story, combined with great acting, directing, action, and plot.
I hated and continue to hate Jar-Jar. But I concede that Ahmed Best was the wrong person to blame for that character, just as Jake Lloyd should not have taken the heat for young Anakin. In both cases, the person who deserves to take the heat is George Lucas.

I still find it weird that people want Din or Grogu to run Mandalore...you need someone who has experience in that status like Bo. I don't think she's got anything sus going on, she had given up hope trying to take Mandalore. Now more than ever she can and do it right. Mando and Grogu don't need to be tied down, there's always some adventure. As Mando said it, "A Mandalorian and a Jedi? They 'll never see it coming."
Just keep in mind that Din got his mudhorn signet after actually defeating a mudhorn with grogu and enabled him to form a clan of his own. Bo is going to use that as a false premise just as she did with the dark saber as a claim to lead the mandalorians.
Your point makes no sense. All Mandalorians that come from houses/clans have a signet of their family and has nothing to do with taming the actual animal personally. Vizla clan signet is that weird bird thing. Eldar is a fox face. The night owls used it because their surveilled at night not because they tamed or killed an owl, but also as link to house kryze symbol. They are however free to adopt a signet or more (boba used two), or create their own personal symbol (like Sabine did) in relation to what they wanted to do or honor. Bo using the mythasour isn't a false premise. As the armorer said, it is the symbol of all mandalorians but also a few of the clans also used mythosaur signets like Clan Keldau and also the neo-crusaders. The dark saber was a symbol for the leader of mandalore since olden times when Tarre vizla made it. She WAS the owner of the saber since she was the ruler until the empire stole it and bombed the planet, and was looking for it back. It isn't a false premise to want it back to rule again and unite mandalore again. That would be as absurd as saying that if King Arthur had Excalibur stolen and wanted to find it to reunite Camelot, he was going to use it as a false premise to lead.

In the absence of explanation and communication, perceptions becomes reality; as Bo clarified to the armorer that the Mythosaur signet can be used by any mandalorian, she can fabricate reality that she indeed has claim just as the other clans that adopted symbols in their mantles, yet few can prove the worth of their metal. Din Djarin, however, has proof that he deserve and has right to bear the Mudhorn signet just like Mandalore the Great has proven to tame the Mythosaur. Not only that, he won the saber from Gideon in a square fight, making him more noteworthy and redeemed himself in the living waters and has proof and witness. Bo was "given" the saber by Sabine Wren (that's why she didn't take it from Din) and just a guide in the mines, only jumping the waters to retrieve Din and seeing a live Mythosaur in the process but it was never her intention to bathe in the waters.
@@tiberiusgrey1529 Din only killed the mudhorn because Grogu froze it. That's it. He took the saber from Moth who wasnt the ruler. Sabine wielded the saber and wasnt the ruler. Maul had it and half of mandalore didnt recognize him as ruler. Pre Vizla owned it and wasnt the Mandalore, while Satine was the rightful ruler without it during that time. A single battle with a random empire soldier vs Bo spending 4 decades fighting to restore Mandalore and free her people. I love Din but if it's who deserves it, he doesnt even compare a nano fraction to Bo in that sense.

I'll repeat what someone else said on another video: This is the FANS' redemption, not Ahmed's redemption. People were incredibly cruel to him to the point that he was suicidal for some time. This is a glorious comeback for him and he's finally getting the love and respect he deserves. Huge respect to whoever was involved in getting him for the role (my guess is Dave Filoni).

I must admit I was shocked to see Ahmed Best appear as Kelleran Beq here. He did such a wonderful job (as well as Carl Weathers for directing another kickass episode) and it was great seeing him return after receiving such heinous and despicable treatment back in the day and having his life spiral because of it. Though there's one thing I want to correct here. This isn't Ahmed being "redeemed," because he didn't do anything wrong in the first place that needed redemption. He was an actor who got the chance to be a part of one of the greatest franchises of all-time. A job and a dream come true for any actor...and because he portrayed a character nearly everyone despised, he was punished unjustly for it. For YEARS! So, for me, the toxic and horrendous parts of the fanbase are the ones that need the redemption here, and should treat this man with the love and respect he deserves. So here's hoping they do the right thing this time around. Sensational compilation as always Johnny!

This has been my interpretation too, The Mandalorian is whatever Mandalorian is on screen at the moment, Din just happened to be the only one we got to see when the season started. Also he's got a foundling to take care of now, he can't just race around space doing work now.

And yeah, there was quite a bit of backlash when it came to Jar Jar when he first showed up in Episode 1, and Ahmed Best received a lot of death threats and such from fans, so much so that he contemplated suicide for years... I have no clue what's wrong with those disgusting people, but I'm glad Ahmed Best has a good role that's well-received by fans. Shame on the haters of the actor!

Videos like these really help me narrow down what reactors I need to avoid. I’ve seen Dos Cavasos and My Name is Simon before, and they continue to be two of the most annoying reactors I’ve come across. Either dismissive wet blankets who have confidence born of ignorance in the former, or smug contrarian arrogance in the latter.

But there's nothing to redeem, per say, since he didn't do anything wrong to begin with. This is the FANS' redemption, not Ahmed's redemption. its Ahmed's COMEBACK, to be more precise. Regardless, the man did nothing wrong for playing a character he didn't know people were going to hate. The poor guy went through so much crap for years after the first movie, and I'm glad he could be a part of the SW universe again with the role he was given in this episode; especially since the feedback is really positive~ He deserves love and respect, and I'm glad he's getting it at long last~

As stargazer has already mentioned, he did no wrong to require redemption. He played Jar Jar Binks very well in his motion capture suit and voice acting. If some "fans" disliked the character at the time that's their choice, but to push the actor towards suicide, is uncalled for.
He is a talented actor and the Star Wars folks gave him another chance to shine in this role back in 2020 and now here in this series.

@@StargazerZ99 The role of Kelleran Beq was from a kids' Star Wars adventure tv show, where contestants solved puzzles and other games. He was brought back to play that jedi and briefly his canon lore is that he is a Jedi that teaches younglings and cares for them. He is also good at the dual-wielding form.
