- It’s been a long, hot, busy summer. In this video I explain a few of the things that I’ve been up to recently instead of making videos for TH-cam.
I didn’t mention it but everything is fine and I’m just as healthy as I was before. Thanks for all of the comments checking on me, I appreciate it.

I wondered where you had been. I need to do a remodel on our house too, but I have been putting it off. It is such a hassle and a lifestyle disruption. Glad you are back.
We were fortunate that most of this was exterior so it didn’t interfere much with us being able to use the house the way a bathroom or kitchen would. Still kept me on my toes just working with the contractor.

Excellent point but I have a gate at the end of a long driveway for that.
This one was kicked in, hence the gate, and whistles when the wind blows. I mean, it’s not all bad, if you prefer instrumentals.
Glad all is well. I was wondering where you have been. In 2004/5 we put a big addition on our house and we subcontracted it ourselves and I know how time consuming it is. I remember I would work during the day, come home for dinner and then out to the construction stores to get materials and supplies for the next day and repeat. This level of effort probably lasted like six months. It’s a lot of work. There is no time for anything else really. The weekends were busy too. But we got through this and you will too and you will be rewarded with a nice home.

The end is in sight finally. We are just waiting for the new front door we ordered in June. It’s supposed to be here in a couple of weeks.

Hey, Failing at Retirement, you were missed! However, your recent experiences should make excellent future videos. Creativity has an ebb and flow to it, and when one is engaged in meaningful activities that impact one's long-term lifestyle, those come first. Speaking of difficulty in filming due to interruptions, the show Deadwood would frequently have to refilm due to jets flying over them, which really didn't fit into the Old West theme they were conveying.😀 I am glad to see you back in the saddle.

I do find that there’s an eb and flow to making these videos. Sometimes it’s easy and I will make several in the same day and other times I just don’t have anything.

Well, I think all of us loyal Failure Followers figured that construction and cabin visits would slow down your videos, but I started to get concerned after two months. Just glad you and Mrs. Failure are ok and getting some stuff done in the heat😊

Hey don't feel bad, since I retired last year I've been jackhammering a massive stair made of concrete along with other projects. I had to get a second jackhammer after the first one failed. Just told the wife it looks like I retired to work in the prison rockpile! Soon enough we'll get ahead of it all.

Hear that everything is good with you. Working on your home doesn’t sound like failing at retirement. It seemed that everyone when I was growing up in our area once they retired from a regular job went right into a home remodel that lasted for a while… like years.
We are great, thank you.
It’s really not failing, it’s just that I’ve always tended to take on more than I should, it’s just the way that I’m wired.

Thank God I am not you... You are depressing!!! I stay thankful that I have the time to do any project..all day.....because I don't have to go to a regular job. Staying negative instead of looking for positive leaves you like this.
It’s okay if you don’t get my sense of humor. I’m grateful for everything that we have, I just tend to take on more than I should. That’s just the way that I’m wired and I make a joke out of it every chance that I get.
