Brett I understand your pain and suffering, even though I am a random subscriber you have never interacted with in person, I hate to see you go through this. I would be willing to take the monitor off of your hands that way you don't have to go through the pain of using such a terrible product. And you don't have to worry about paying me to do this, I would be willing to take it for free off of your hands, I will accept it as my cross to bear.😇

Brett, there is a microphone button on the smaller controller for voice control... press that button & say:
    "Change to HDMI 3"
or whichever HDMI input you want, you don't NEED buttons when you have voice recognition A.I. lol! You can ALSO use it for things like saying "open TH-cam" or "open Netflix" or whatever.

Only problem is when I do that it says I have to install 'smart hub', then it says ' it is not supported in my country'. So I guess you are only allowed to use a samsung display in certain areas of the globe, otherwise you are SOL

Bought the Ark for 2399, had no problem & a great experience so far. His monitor may be turning off due to time out feature you can set timer or turn off. Switching inputs really isn't that hard and you can set start up on the input you prefer, also yes can switch through voice on remote. Smart TV and monitor in one with some caveats, one being you cannot have multiple hdmi ports actively displayed @ one time. But had a sports game on TH-cam TV, TH-cam & my pc split screen @ same time. Not a standard monitor so played around in menu settings for awhile figuring out as I went along. Is it quirky yes, frustrating maybe depends on user mindset, expensive yes got a $1100 discount but still a lot of dough, will I return it 😅 no I love this thing.

I got it at the first release day. Nothing weird happened to me when switching different HDMI sources as well as identifying my PS5. And I only use the bigger remote control all the time.
I did meet some issues with enabling VRR and 165hz on windows, and it really cost me some time to find a walkaround. There are some bugs and glitches in their software. But none of you mentioned happened on me.
And I only use this monitor as a monitor for gaming, so the most important thing for me is the display effect aka hardware specification. I don't care about any other fancy function such as multi-view or cockpit mode. I can switch to different PC sources or PS5 without issues.
So if you are looking for an extreme gaming experience on a monitor, just buy it. 55'+4k165hz+HDR2000+VRR+1000R means EVERYTHING to me.
And you better have two tables, the back one for it, the front one for your keyboard mouse and snacks. 1m is the best watching distance for a 1000R curve.

    • @justanordinaryguy23
      @justanordinaryguy23 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I have a couple of questions. I love gaming as much as watching movies. Is this a good monitor to watch movies, or the 1000R curvature is too much? My other question, is this monitor mountable to a wall? I don't care about vertical at all...

Been using it for almost 2 months, I understand the experience for complex UI and buttons, but as long you leave the connected devices as it is, it won't be that complicated anymore. still struggling how to setup vertically in full screen tho. one more thing, since I change the HDMI 2.1 it works better.

Really? No comments about the amazing brightness, great contrast, good monitor sound? Nothing about the awesome immersion that this super curved 55inch 4K monitor offers? Really, you find nothing interesting in that monitor? Not to just try it with a game in your review? The main features you were looking for was really the ability to switch input quickly? Not a word about the experience once your using one input? The lack of PIP is unforgivable imo.... But, the fact you had nothing positive to say about this amazing devices can only means you're dead inside. It's far from perfect, but it's for gaming.... And when you game with that monitor, you forget the small imperfections. I bought two of them! One for my PC, one for my kids PS5,! ;-) Some stats for you, I spend around 10 hours/day in front of my monitor. Less than one minute/day input switching.... Which was all your review was covering. Odd choice.

As an owner of the G9 49 inch, non NEO, its not all great either, driver support for running in 240 hz has been a pain, the firmwares for the montior have been updated ALOT to fix issues that should have been done before it even was sold, sich as black screens and detection of signal.
Not to speak of all the panel issues that the G9's are suffering from, mine has been replaced once by samsung.
But, to Samsung defence here, you did use the larger remote, and there was a clear option for a "home" in the middle.
And the argument for "It cannot find the PS5 on HDMI1", no, becouse the unit is sold as a monitor for a PC, so HDMI 1 would always be populated as your PC.
I 100 % agree tho that removing the selection of inputs in the UI for some smart garbage to detect and place the inputs on the game hub is just nasty, and the small remote should have had a input selection, and for a 3500 dollar screen to not have PIP ( i do even belive my G9 supports this feature ) is just sad.
Overall, I agree that this monitor seems like a stressed product, and a poor attempt to fuse two markets, but some of your frustration is just a matter of calm the F down, and look at what you are doing.

And sometimes it wont even work and I have to turn off the TV and the PC, wait 10 seconds, and then go select the correct input, then select the correct audio output. I switched to the QD Oled from Alienware because of HDR issues with the G9, but I switched back and am extremely pleased with how Samsung fixed things up. As for this thing, I have no hopes for it.

"Honest" review from lack of user experience. Only downside is the multiple inputs at same time.

Mate your problem is you don't know how to properly use the remote control.
Yes, you need to pass through the home button. It's the same with all TV's these days. People don't want a remote with 1000 buttons. Just the ones you use 99% of the time. That monitor is actually bloody awesome imo. If you don't like how it works, that's fair, don't buy it 😀

This doesn't surprise me at all. I have their 82 Inch Q900RB. Samsung went ham with the marketing for it and said they would be the first one to support HDMI 2.1 because the TV is 8K ready. Of course, for a TV that costs 10K USD back then, people were asking for when eARC support was gonna be released. Their top of the line sound bars supported it yet this top of the line TV didn't have it. Samsung promised that they would deliver this via an update for the Q90R and Q900Rs. As expected of Samsungs shitty product support, they said they would release eARC as a support but never did so. Like this 10k USD TV barely got any firmware updates.

I’ve always loved Samsung TVs. We recently got a new one, and it has this same software. It’s ATROCIOUS. I hate everything about it.
Without fail, once every 8-10 days, it just decides the Internet doesn’t exist anymore. Every other device in the entire house is FINE. And it takes a hard reboot of the TV to fix. That’s right - the power button on your remote doesn’t actually turn off the TV.

I am not having any issues you're having, and the colors are great. Only thing is that it took a while to get the colors right (don't use gaming mode unless you are using a console, which it states). I didn't buy this to use as a TV, and only using it as a gaming monitor, and it is more enjoyable than my Odyssey Neo G9. The thing that does irritate me is the firmware supposedly ruins the color (I haven't updated the firmware yet) and they haven't come out with a new iteration since Nov or December to resolve that issue. I also inquired to Samsung directly about the firmware to find out the fixes, etc., and after speaking to 6 "techs", none were even able to provide me with a release changelog, or even when the firmware was originally first available, WTF is that? I am thinking of buying the LG Flex and seeing which one I like more before returning one of them.

  • @Vacciano
    @Vacciano 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Believe this guy, because:
Multi view/multi windows are useless because you get very low resolution and you cannot read anything on the screen because it’s too small , it keeps changing the resolution when your PC goes to sleep or something then you have to go and reset some setting to go back to the normal resolution , you can use full screen TV or full screen PC to get the 4K resolution or something good to look at if you switch to two windows three windows four windows you will not be able to read your folder name or any file name on your screen.
So full screen TV or full screen PC and for that is way too expensive this piece is .
I’m using the ark 2nd generation, but I’m sending it back because it’s way too expensive for what it is

I like the Ark, but I don't think I'd ever use it for a daily monitor. I'd use it for games where I'd use a controller. It's not for everyone, it's very niche which is why the product is so expensive. They aren't mass producing these. I would like to stick with the Odyssey G9. But this monitor is meant for a very, very niche group of people.

Also anyone buying this for a console is a clown anyway. Makes zero sense. Consoles belong on TV’s cause they can’t/wont suffer form the tv input lag. “Gaming MONITORS” not TV’s belong on pc only. Any complaint about how hard input switching is when it should only be connected to a pc immediately invalidates a review for me. Also the ark is now only $1900 so much better priced now.

He literally complained about not being able to go home or switch inputs when its like 2 taps he's making it seem like its some arcane way to switch an input when hes literally looked at the button to swith the whole time. The main drag i experience is the not being able to display 2 hdmi inputs. Aside from that both controls work for everything for the most part including switching inputs

I was looking at this screen last week as an upgrade for my Simpit and playing Star Citizen because I'd just gotten a head tracking kit and felt my 32" Ultra was too small (height wise) for the tracking.
Looking over this screen and also finding it's only a VA panel, i walked out with a 48" LG Ultragear 4k OLED 120hz Gsync screen instead and am pretty stoaked with that, even though it's a flat panel.
