In today's video, me and ‪@dunneytravels‬ visit Sri Lanka's oldest zoo - Dehiwala Zoo in Colombo. With over 2500 animals, Dehiwala Zoo hosts numerous exotic and indigenous species of mammals, birds, reptiles & amphibians. For a ticket price of 5000rs/$15 for foreigners, we're eager to see if this historic animal sanctuary lives up to its reputation and delivers a memorable wildlife experience.

I was a bit dubious about the guide when I watched your zoo visit on "Dunney travels", but here I see that he did add to the experience. As for the $15 entrance fee sure it seems high, but only in comparison to what's paid by the locals. I believe it costs around $33 to visit the London zoo.

Ah yes he definitely added to the experience! High entrance fee in comparison to a lot of other attractions in Sri Lanka but we had a lot of fun ☺️

when Sri Lanka economy was in danger and no one on earth was helping India help with grant and loan of several billion dollars and still giving. Indian Foreign Minister himself went to Sri Lanka with massive petrol tankers. On July 08, 2023, expressing his gratitude to "trustworthy friend" India for saving Sri Lanka and preventing "another bloodbath for all of us" during its unprecedented economic crisis last year, Parliament Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has said that not a single nation has extended that kind of assistance to Colombo as done by New Delhi.

shame on dehiwela zoo ppl (or whoever decided) to increase tourist entry prices by such a massive margin

We are used to (and happy to) pay more for being tourists, it's as expected. But on this occasion it was a bit too much of a price increase! We had a nice time though :)
