They adapted the book so well. I didn't think the jokes would work on screen but they switched things around and kept the best while adding some others.

1 - If you love Tennent, I HIGHLY recommend Broadchurch. It is amazing.
2 - I love that you said 'look at that SAUNTER!', because in the book it describes Crawly as an angel who 'didn't so much Fall, but sauntered vaguely downwards'.

Crowley switches side as they hit the sidewalk across the street so that he is the one on the sidewalk side towards traffic.

This show is wonderfully indicative of the sarcastic relationship England has with the Church of England. Legally speaking they’re a theocracy with a state religion, but almost no one is a sincere believer

Good Omens and in particular this episode is a parody of the 1976 horror film "The Omen" which features the baby Antichrist being swapped for an American diplomat's baby son by satanic nuns and being raised by a satanic nanny. Of course in the horror film the switch goes off without a hitch unlike in "Good Omens"
Bit of related Dr Who trivia. David Tennant the 10th Doctor stars in Good Omens and a major character, a priest Father Brennan, in the 1976 horror film "The Omen" is played by Patrick Troughton the 2nd Doctor.

I love this reaction! I've been looking for Good Omens reactions on youtube for a few weeks, and not a lot of people I've seen actually get the jokes or understand what's going on. Your reaction adds a lot to seeing it, and you seem to be having a lot of fun reacting to boot!

Re: Deirdre: It depends on the country. Irene as "Irenee" isn't my favorite either. Side note: Deirdre is played by the same actress who played Eurus Holmes on BBC Sherlock, which I just found out the other day.

In the book during the birthday scene the kids literally just straight up called Aziraphale a f*g and I was caught so off guard, lmao, needless to say that was a very interesting way to learn different countries have different "big deal" slurs

Ooh, so excited to see you react to this! I adore the original book, and the show is pretty damn fun. A big theme in Pratchett's writing is that people are people, and that causes things we do to be both beautiful and awful. The book is one of the most britishly British things I've probably ever read. They get that tone of it across *really* well here.

Eek! I've watched this SO many times and even got into the fandom for it because I love the chemistry between Crowley and Aziraphale so much. I'd read the book previously but it's even more fun to reread after you've seen them running around in 3 dimensions, as it were. It's magnificent casting. Can't wait for the rest!

I really liked Good Omen's. It wasn't my favorite show that came out but it truned out very well and I think did a solid enough job adapting the authors voices. Incidentally, If you enjoy absurdist humor at all then honestly Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels are the book equivalent of a warm blanket. Hilarious, occasionally moving and just fun no matter how many times you return to them.

Major spoilers for book/show and the differences between them ahead.
Dont know if you have reread the book since finishing the series, but in the book it's revealed that all the stuff the narrators saying about the third baby actually happens.
He grows up to be the village bully and leader of the rival gang to Adams and is referenced a few times.
One of the biggest differences book to show is that when Adam is working out what to do later in the story. He originally uses The Them vs Greasy Johnson (baby three) as an analogy for heaven vs hell. He decides if they did beat Greasy once and for all it would make life less interesting and make everything worse.
Its also suggested that Greasy is bullying people because he's a large, clumsy child who feels uncomfortable in his body and would rather be seen as big and strong.
The only time he actually physically appears in the book is in the epilouge when Adam uses his power to plant an article about American Football in the magazine he's reading, which would "change his life". Giving us hope that he will be happy after all.

4:26 The apple thing goes back to pre-Judaism times, actually pre-patriarchal times. The apple was one of the symbols of the great Goddess, her symbol of wisdom and knowledge and also the symbol of life and death. The greek goddess Hera had a paradise garden with apples as well and the Norse goddess Idun, which was actually a pre-Norse goddess, had apples that allowed the gods to stay young. When Loki lured her away from Asgard with her apples, the Aesir grew rapidly old.
But this also means that the Bible story of Eve is actually a perversion of the original story. The Goddess Hawwa (which is where Eve's name comes from) essentially wanted to know too much of her own wisdom, too much knowledge for a woman as the patriarchal bible story puts it. Hence why Adam being made from her is also swapped so now she is made from Adam.

Also 'apple' used to just mean 'fruit,' so it could've been anything.
