I ordered shade five to begin with and it was way too light and so I ordered shade seven which is perfect for the summer and especially if I put a little self tanner on. I think if you have mature skin you need to go darker than you actually think because we have a lot of redness, hyperpigmentation and it just looks better if the shade is a little bit darker on mature skin. it tends to look a lot less like you are wearing make up then if you wear a shade that is too light. For reference I have medium skin tone on my cheeks and chin and of course lighter right below my jawbone. Sometimes it’s good to use two different colors for those two areas!
I totally agree, Christina. Sometimes I like to mix them but other times I use one shade in one area and one shade in another. It’s a little bit much on the Artistry side for my level but I still enjoy it.

I think I prefer a more medium to full coverage even though my skin doesn’t have many imperfections aside from sun spots. I just like the evening out of my skin they give me.
Hello Rabbi! I am loving the one size and the Danessa as well. I am always suspicious when a brand reformulates an old favorite. I feel like, no matter what improvements they claim, that it’s always actually done to save money. If it’s an older foundation, I feel like they either want to market it as something new or market it as something new to cover up the fact they are using less expensive ingredients over time. That is awfully suspicious of me, I realize, but when the original version is good, there has got to be a reason, in the corporate aspect, for a revamp. So I agree with you.
That was exactly me….. they all just kind of blurred together in my mind with none more remarkable than the other …. That is.. one until Armani came along …

Thank you for this comment, Julia. I agree. It’s interesting that we have to search for differences when most brands reformulate. It makes me feel like sometimes reformulation is a way to save money. What I mean is that, when a brand is not transparent about what is different, it makes us feel like maybe they’re just switching up some ingredients to use less expensive ones! So, in this case, you’re right, it feels a little more authentic.

Hello Amy. You speak my language entirely! Ha ha. I think we all do it. I think this is OK for dry skin the luminous silk might be a little bit better on very very dry skin. Happy happy happy Easter. I hope you have loads of delish chocolate. The only consensus on the SPF addition is to make it more attractive to the Asian market. So many sales there and you can’t get a sale without adding in spf even a hint of it.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I am attacking chocolate chips directly from the bag over here!!! No baking required. 😂😂 I should’ve bought fancy chocolate for Easter, but I didn’t. Oh, well. 🐰🌷Is it too expensive to launch two versions of the same foundation-one with and one without SPF?? Let the customer choose?? Don’t sell the non-SPF in Asia?! Maybe it’s very difficult and/or very costly. But for $70 a pop… hmmmmm. 🧐💖
@@MissBeeeBeee Agreed. There’s a lot there. And I would love to know the true reason but I’m guessing they think that it won’t put enough of us off and they can just make one version and not exclude Asia and, studies might show that if we have no choice we will buy it anyway. That is a complete and utter stab in the dark. I do not have that on any sort of confirmed information. I’m all for chocolate chip straight out of the bag. Why should it have to be shaped like a bunny when it all tastes the same anyway?! You’re conserving energy!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Oh, noooo!!! Now I REALLY want a bunny-shaped cookie!!!!! Oh, well. 🐰🐰 Yes, I can totally see your point. People are going to buy it anyway, so there’s no need to make two versions. If one or two people (me) are turned off to the point of not even considering the purchase, well, that’s just one or two customers you’re losing. It makes no difference in the numbers. 🐰🐰💖
@@MissBeeeBeee YUM! Any shaped cookie! I think the whole way that cosmetics are made and packaged is actually fascinating and the public misconceptions, trust me I’m included in these misconceptions, are that they just need to make more shades or they just need to make one this way and when the other way. I am the same. I don’t understand why they can’t. So I’m not pointing a finger at anyone at all. But I think every time there’s a new formulation, it’s more expensive. And I think, sometimes, big businesses should be making and taking that plunge even if it costs the money. Other times, I think we would be completely shocked at the amount that is spent on something small and not recouped. Other times, I think the expense would be worth it, like the SPF thing, thank you, and I think that brands are unwilling to take the risk until they see that another brand has done it successfully. So it’s that corporate confusion. How much of it is fear of risk-taking and how much of it is greed? And I’m not sure any of us truly know the answer. They seem to have proven that an oil free version of a popular foundation sells, so I think they should do a non-SPF version also.

We buy countless inexpensive items, that are not actually that inexpensive, and they add up to way more than one bottle of something slightly pricier but better. We all do it. I think this is OK for dry skin the luminous silk might be a little bit better on very very dry skin. I did not have this feel cakey or settle into dry patches and I had so many dry patches the day I tested it. I do like it even more with a dewy primer underneath and will make sure to wear it that way in upcoming videos for everyone to see. I will also mention it at that time to bring it to everyone’s attention.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty IMO, Luminous Silk is better for dry skin. This Power Fabric is a “matte” foundation, and is drying. I tried a sample. I have dry skin.
@@janicecroissiert9116 thank you!
It looks absolutely flawless on you!!!! Literally perfect. The only thing that turns me off is the SPF. I don’t wear chemical SPF, but even if it was mineral… why, oh why, do we insist on adding SPF to foundations????? 😩😩 Is that attractive to anyone?? I guess it is. You get coverage and you get protected from the sun, yay!!! I beg all brands: pleeeeeease leave the protection part to me. They won’t. I get it. No, I don’t get it. 😖 Now, I am super happy to see the horns and the confetti!!!! That is a huge YAYYYYYY!!!! Happy Easter!!! 🐰💐🌸🌷🌺🐰💖
Is that a natural hair brush?
Yes indeed! Goat.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I’ve always been told not to use natural hair brushes with liquids
@@glitter7777 oh I’m so sorry that is a Sonia G fusion brush. I looked too quickly and I’m moving too fast tonight I thought that was a blush video. No it’s the fusion brush which is actually partly natural hair and partly synthetic and it’s specially made for liquid products. supposedly if you have undyed goat hair, you can use it on liquid but they say not exclusively
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty oh perfect. Thank you!!!
When I was younger (& didn’t need it) I was a full coverage gal - no blemish too small to be caked in concealer & foundation 😂 Now that I’m older I’m happier with a medium coverage even if that means a few cracks & blemishes show through- I have pores/texture & a show of reality doesn’t hurt 😆💕
A show of reality not only doesn’t hurt, I think it helps. I like seeing my skin because I work really hard on it even though it is far from perfect. So I understand you 100%.
The colour has changed from the older product to the new product.
Yes. Agreed. The color choice is different. True.
Does it still contain alcohol denat?
Yes. Ingredient number 6. Not as obvious by scent as in, say, Pat McGrath or MUFE but those were 4th on list.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty That's a great shame. Thank you for letting me know as it isn't available here in the UK yet. I will be giving it a wide berth then.
I wear the original power fabric in #6.5 (medium tan, golden undertones) but found that the newer formulation Power Fabric + in #6.5 was totally a different shade (peach undertones I think) I even bought #7 to see and they both don’t match my skin
I am so sorry to hear that. It is so frustrating especially when the undertone changes just enough to make it not work. It’s going to be one of those ones where you have to go in store to get matched. And I honestly find that so upsetting because we value our time and it’s nice to just know what shade you are. So I feel for you and I understand how frustrating it is.
Foundation month? Feels like foundation year 🤣 it’s terrifying when they reformulate something good. I was so nervous with the Chanel Ultra le Teint but luckily it worked out 😓 This looks marvelous on your skin 😍
Exactly! It's terrifying AND....suspicious. Why? To revamp sales? OR is it because an ingredient has become pricey so you replace it with a cheaper ingredient and advertise it as NEW?! Pardon me for being skeptical. Haha. But, this one worked out....
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty haha. The Chanel was to add an ingredient and prevent the product from drying down as fast during application. It worked out with Chanel too, but we both know that’s not always the case. 😂
@@AMerchBeauty I'm def not a conspiracy theory, not in the least but I'm STILL like, "Sure, Chanel, sure...." hahahhaa.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty 😂😂😂 well I was definitely able to feel a difference but the actual performance of the product was identical
@@AMerchBeauty Generally, I think Chanel does us proud. I really do think that...other than that powder change a few seasons ago but it's the exception that proves the rule. Haha.
😃😃🤗🤗

how old are you ?
Mid 40s almost! 🥰
It's not redone, it's a different one
well you're not a mua 😂😂😂
I make that very clear Ishtar. I am a fashion and beauty journalist and a seasoned one at that. I have interviewed the biggest names in the business. But I am not a professional makeup artist. I am an editor. I am a journalist. And I am well-known for that. But no. Not a make up artist. I just interview them. I am not here to do looks. I am here to impart knowledge on make up and brands and test them out to the best of my ability. That is what my channel is about.
Hi dear! Which do you like better this one or the ysl luminous matte?🤍
I prefer the look of the ysl actually!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty is GA not smooth on skin?
@@kara6767 absolutely it is. For some reason I just prefer the YSL.
