Until this year of 2024, the last time I actually rode on legal roads on street registered motorcycle was 2002 (2000 R1). It's really simple, they were too expensive for what they have to offer. That's why the new middle class sport come with bigger engine. If you noticed we already have Yamaha R9 coming, the CBR 750 concept and soon the other kawasaki and suzuki will come up
Kawasaki & Yamaha will atleast produce the R9 with a MT-09 engine, and the ZX-9R / Ninja 900 will based on the Z900 . Kawasaki made a good split between sport touring and supersport classes with the ZX nameplate to differentiate it . I don't know about Suzuki though, but definitely they'll do something too .
The problem isn't that 1000cc are getting better, the problem is that they're putting so many rider aids on the thousands that even somebody who's never ridden a bike in their life can jump on and ride it like they know what they're doing. The companies are taking all the skill out of riding motorcycles and making everyone think the Valentino Rossi
Everything your saying is bs 😅 the reason they are stopping production of many types of motorcycles is because they won't pass emissions tests so they don't want to make the model of bike worse which means they have to make new models if I got a new r6 and it's performance was worse than my friends old gen I'd be mad pissed and want my money back so they make new models nothing to do with the market l, that's why the r7 is slower than an r6 and has less hp and torque etc 😅
You mean the "new" generation that is going to be the last CBR600RR that costs twice as much as the last? That being said I hope you really do enjoy it.
I can tell you why in the UK. They changed the bike test a decade ago and it basically moved all the supersoprts 600s of the time out of reach of new riders because they were over 100 hp. Sad really. Basically, you no longer passed your bike test and went out and bought a shiny GSXR600 with matching leathers. Kawasaki tried to rescue the ninja name by calling the ER6F a ninja when it wasn't, and a modern cbr650 will be our classed by a 15 year old cbr600rr.
It’s because all the TH-camrs recommending against super sports because they are “uncomfortable” I bought a 636 this year (had a Harley and buell in the past) and I can’t believe I waited so long to experience such a well balanced high performance machine. Plus I look way cooler than my friends on their nakeds 😎
Sportsbikes should be more naked bikes with fairings and aimed for higher speeds. Naked bikes made from supersports are just worse normal naked bikes and should be their own kind of bikes, and making separate sportsbike and naked bike would be way more expensive so making sportsbike out of naked with fairings and little more aggressive ergo would be better.
Too uncomfortable and the cbr650r is down on power and up on weight from a 20 year old cbrf4i only benefit is abs if you want that and suspension might be fancier but why bother paying another 1200 minimum in dealer fees on an already >10k 600 4 cylinder when you can find clean used bikes for ~4k
in the past where motorcycles did not rely heavily on technology, a 600cc and 1000cc has clear distinct advantages/disadvantages in terms of handling, speed, etc. However, due to technology now, a 1000cc is just advantageous in all aspects. You have the power and speed, technology helps to control the handling etc. Why would people still want a 600cc no matter how much technology is put on a 600cc, there is a still a disadvantage for speed and power against the 1000cc. Riding has evolved over the years with technologies that allows new and old riders to ride the bike to its maximum efficiency. In the past, you really need the experience to ride well. Now? Brakling technique sucks? ABS. Sliding during cornering sucks? Traction control. Not to mention electronic suspension, anti wheelie, launch control etc. Price point, a few grand difference; definitely litre bikes will be the most picked.
Bikes have become electronic pile of garbage. I like my 600 cc Fazer and gonna stick with it for a long time. Highway junkies will get tired of their over-engineered fuel-hungry liter toy bikes and 600 cc bikes will make a comeback.
Dont sell your 600cc bike they will be a time when they will wish for them to come back. If they want one so badly sell it for twice as much. That wil send the message to those 600 haters you aint selling.
Have never owned a 600 supersport but my opinion is they are a narrow focus motorcycle, meaning they are a track bike first and foremost which makes them less practical as an everyday street bike. Hence the rising popularity of naked and adventure bikes. Cheers and ride on.👍👍
who spends 1000cc money on a 600cc bike, also explains why sales are slumping on the 1000cc's they priced themselves out of the game. You can buy a nice sports car for 20k, why buy a bike, sure the car will be a few years old but it will be faster, and have more electronics and well, everything

You gotta ask why a 1999-04 R1 costs 5 grand still when they were 8-9 thousand brand new.. if it was equally comparable to the AMG it should have lost a good 85% of its MSRP, depreciation just stopped being a thing on bikes. Cuz sport nakeds perform just as well as a 600cc super sport on the road--- Z900/MT09/GSXS750/Duke890 etc --- Street Triple--- but are good road bikes also and very comfortable ergo's. You lose nothing as far as power and cornering for all practical purposes on the street even shredding in the curves. So why would buy a 600? Now a liter bike.... that's a different story, as that's a monster you can't get with an ordinary bike lol
Their are litre sports nakeds too...so? That honesty you're kind of comparing apples and oranges here. Plus it gets a little more involved when you can purchase "sports" bikes like the CBR650R with relaxed ergos but still has full fairing.

@@englishsteel-nz6im - The pinnacle is really just fundamentally the difference between hp. Hence why an experienced rider on an R6 can beat an amateur on an R1.
New bikes 600cc and below have had the soul taken away. They are dull now, very little character. Inline 4 cylinder bikes with 4 carburettors and gear driven cams etc were so much more inspiring. Even the 600's of the 2000's were insanely fast on twisty roads. I think it comes down to if you can properly use what you ride. Unless you're doing track days you can use these bikes properly on the road due to eventual consequences (police, crashing).

In Indonesia 250cc is the most popular, and 600cc is our dream bike, 1000cc is too fast for Indonesian small muddy full of patholes roads
Sales are down to almost zero

Yet how come i've seen this video more than 3 years ago?
Good to learn!
Thank you! Cheers!
I got the cbr 600 f4i 2001 and i love it
Gotta say, I actually agree
Everything your saying is bs 😅 the reason they are stopping production of many types of motorcycles is because they won't pass emissions tests so they don't want to make the model of bike worse which means they have to make new models if I got a new r6 and it's performance was worse than my friends old gen I'd be mad pissed and want my money back so they make new models nothing to do with the market l, that's why the r7 is slower than an r6 and has less hp and torque etc 😅
I'm hoping the Aprilia 457 will be a good bike.
Im seeing naked bikes are ever more popular now and are hitting the same speeds and performance as race/ sport bikes
That's My bike at 1:35 ... the actual one, just b4 I picked em up - Love him to Bits !! 😜
You mean the "new" generation that is going to be the last CBR600RR that costs twice as much as the last? That being said I hope you really do enjoy it.
@@ThermicLight Roger That 🤟
I can tell you why in the UK.
It’s because all the TH-camrs recommending against super sports because they are “uncomfortable”
I bought a 636 this year (had a Harley and buell in the past) and I can’t believe I waited so long to experience such a well balanced high performance machine.
Plus I look way cooler than my friends on their nakeds 😎
I had an F4i but there are speed cammeras in every corner so supersports are no longer an option.
Only thing I would ever buy 1000 ccm3 over 600 ccm3 is because of it's size, but 600 ccm3 was best class I ever had.
Also Like Why would i spend £9k on a new R7 etc When i could get an older R1 for £4k
Good job
ID WAY RATHER RIDE A 600 THEY ARE THE FUNNEST HIGHER REVS YOU CAN RING THAT SHIT OUT
That price is my problem :))......
My first new bike was a 1000 cc, because the smaller ones didn''t meet the price/quality ratio that one needs....
Lol what was the quality issue and what 1000 did you buy?
Too uncomfortable and the cbr650r is down on power and up on weight from a 20 year old cbrf4i only benefit is abs if you want that and suspension might be fancier but why bother paying another 1200 minimum in dealer fees on an already >10k 600 4 cylinder when you can find clean used bikes for ~4k
funny how mamy 600 rider is faster than 1000
in the past where motorcycles did not rely heavily on technology, a 600cc and 1000cc has clear distinct advantages/disadvantages in terms of handling, speed, etc.
I still say they priced themselves out of the market
Too uncomfortable and no storage
Biggest killer was emissions.
But not everyone can afford to run a 1000cc RI ? DUCATI OR CBR1000RR. COULD THIS BE DAMNING FOR RIDERS THAT ONLY WANT MID ENGINED RIDES ?
So interesting!
the answer of all is 750 cc . Best of all Classes😉
Biggest market for 2 wheels is asia, and 600cc are alive there. Just the stupid prices of bikes like the R7 damages the category
I would rather get vfr 800 then r6
Bikes have become electronic pile of garbage. I like my 600 cc Fazer and gonna stick with it for a long time. Highway junkies will get tired of their over-engineered fuel-hungry liter toy bikes and 600 cc bikes will make a comeback.
600 is ded because the 750cc gsxr is only 7 lbs heavier but ya gain 25hp
Dont sell your 600cc bike they will be a time when they will wish for them to come back. If they want one so badly sell it for twice as much. That wil send the message to those 600 haters you aint selling.
Have never owned a 600 supersport but my opinion is they are a narrow focus motorcycle, meaning they are a track bike first and foremost which makes them less practical as an everyday street bike. Hence the rising popularity of naked and adventure bikes. Cheers and ride on.👍👍
zx25r, zx4r, zx6r - are we a joke to you?
ISA NANAMANG ASTIG NA VIDEO SERR
Thanks 🥰🥰🥰
Thats sad
who spends 1000cc money on a 600cc bike, also explains why sales are slumping on the 1000cc's they priced themselves out of the game. You can buy a nice sports car for 20k, why buy a bike, sure the car will be a few years old but it will be faster, and have more electronics and well, everything
Not faster
@@i_observe9846 yes faster. Mercedes AMG C63 will go faster
@@ObiWanCannabi how
@@i_observe9846 th-cam.com/video/99yBh-0uRIM/w-d-xo.html
90k car is now about 12-14k 17 or so years later, which is a little cheaper than a 2016 R1 in my country, comes with more driver aids and it's comfortable while you rag it, unlike modern sports bikes which just have traction control and anti wheelie.. like that must add so much cost to things...
You gotta ask why a 1999-04 R1 costs 5 grand still when they were 8-9 thousand brand new.. if it was equally comparable to the AMG it should have lost a good 85% of its MSRP, depreciation just stopped being a thing on bikes.
Look at my situation, I have 5 thousand saved for a bike, now I could buy a 19 year old POS thats in a relatively nice condition or wait another year and maybe get a big bang, or wait another year and i could get a 2015, but then once i got 10 grand to spend i think im gonna look at a nice car. Maybe a 2009 Nissan 370z or a 2006 AMG Mercedes, no way im paying 5 thousand for something that cost 9 nearly 20 years ago
@@ObiWanCannabi ur smoking if ur getting that car for 20k lol
Because no one rides the way that rider in the clickbait pic shows. There ya go, saved everyone time.
😢
600cc are dead because they´re fucking expensive ! maybe 20 years ago people had the money and lifestyle to own one but today ....shiiiit !!! advice buy one know because 600cc superbikes price will skyrocket....
@@ThermicLight cbr650r is a naked with fairings not a supersport, basically a small aport tourer--- same with rs660-- awesome bikes.
Liter naked don't produce the same performance as liter Supersport. Some have the HP but not other factors.
@@englishsteel-nz6im - Who said the litre naked need to have the same performance as a supersport to be fun?
This is what I mean. You're comparing apples with oranges here. Especially that I reject your premise that middle weight nakeds and sports have no meaningful difference. But then suddenly change your mind when it comes to 1000cc.
@@ThermicLight you're actually not reading what I'm saying--- performance wise liter supersports are the pinnacle of road motorcycle performance. 600s are not and fall in a category that's in between like most modern sport naked.
You get a s1000rr M package for a specific reason.
An R6 tho can be matched by a KTM 890 duke R basically and the Duke is more practical.
Nothing I posted is contradictory and the vast majority of riders can't ride any of these bikes to their full capability.
@@englishsteel-nz6im - The pinnacle is really just fundamentally the difference between hp. Hence why an experienced rider on an R6 can beat an amateur on an R1.
Dude who gonna buy r6 when u can buy r1 only 5k 6k diffrent
5 or 6 thousand isn't an amount to scoff at. Especially when it could alternatively be spent on gear or an after market exhaust.
because 1k bikes are too fast
Nice.
Cause idiots think they need 1000cc bikes,99.99999999% cannot control 600 and are future organ donors on 1000cc bikes. But hey they have tons of power, they can never hope to use. Lol
very goood! hahahah
Why do you talk like that?
First of all I would argue the CBR600RR was the trend setter for mid class super sports. Followed by the R6. No 600 class can too the 07-08 CBR.
you shared nicredible picture~ MisterShifter~=)
