I never thought is was a good idea to have the exhaust right under the seat, For one thing, heat and so much of it. How do the mufflers cool off? Stupid idea. And when you first start out on a cool morning, your exhaust is going to cover up your tail light and make it unsafe to ride. Dumb idea. Most normal better thought out motorcycles have the mufflers down under the enigne or along side the rear wheel where it make the most sense.

Interesting, though, what puzzles me more is: why does everyone put the exhaust on the right? It's understandable in English and Japanese bikes, but continental European companies do that too, and so do the Americans, famous for not believing in the existance of foreign countries.
