When you get your vehicle sprayed with rust check at a dealer, they spray all the innards with the red stuff. And all exposed areas(undercarriage, wheels wells) gets sprayed with the green stuff because it is a lot more durable.
I use rust check on my power equipment(snowblower, lawn mower etc) after the usage season before I store them. Keeps them looking brand new! I am sure fluid film works well too, it's just way to expensive in my area.
It's *sad* how much a new vehicle costs! 😖 Bigger price tag now with less of a warranty. The vehicle market is truly something else at this day and age. Great product for rust proofing Stephan! 🙂👍 Have a great weekend my friend! 🔧
I had a new 97 Aerostar and drove it for 13 years. Didn’t rust check it until I bought out the lease at 4 years old. Then had it sprayed, it did help even though I only did it twice but it survived a lot better than other Aerostars on our heavily salted roads of Ontario. Now have a 2012 Escape bought used a few years ago. It had been sprayed with something by the first owner, I had it rust checked at the dealer when I bought it. Never took it back to the dealer but I have done it every year with the spray cans. It has held up pretty good, one small spot of rust developing in one rear wheel well which is not bad considering what I’ve seen on others around here. The rubber seals around the door sills are all crinkled from it, I have replacements and someday I’ll change them but it doesn’t bother me. I probably have about 4 of those stupid plastic spray straws bouncing around inside my doors though!
Haha yes. Everyone of my vehicles has those littles straws inside the rockers and door sills. I swear by rust check. Always get them done and always do top ups with the little cans. I think it's important to spray a car early on in its life. But as the saying goes it's never too late. I just hate rust so much. I'm obsessed with keeping on top of it. Thanks for watching my video 👍
Dk Hardware sells the rust coating in the states Fluid film is in Lowes I like to use the rust converter then frame paint and coat it all with the rubberized undercoating. Some people even use truck bedliner spray. We don't have the road salt/brine like Nova Scotia... but the constant Florida humidity and sand... is just as bad.
try to avoid as much contact with rubber as it will swell door gaskets and bushings....belts and hoses too and avoid exhaust because it will smoke for a day....i usually have coat and protect on underside and rust check liquid into doors, rockers and body panels...coat and protect does come in bigger containers and can be sprayed onto vehicles...any other questions, contact Rudy Schmid's total car care in Syracuse NY
Thank you for sharing. Yes you are 100 percent correct about the coat and protect and yes that stuff can do a number on rubber. I find fluid film has an even crazier reaction. It will completely swell up and destroy rubbers

I love it personally

Yes. Always got to fight the rust. It's an ongoing battle.
never rubberized coating!!!! it will only seal in the rust!!!
I like the green stuff better but they are great imo
Agree. The green is often cheaper for some reason
I’ve seen this stuff at Canadian tire but never tried it. I bought a kit from wool-wax to try out on my winter truck. Marauder
Yes. Can tire 👍
