Super happy that Saruman, The White Hand won the poll for the alternate commander deck build. Been playing Saruman as the face commander and trying really hard to upgrade only from the LOTR Set. It's been fun! Difficult, but very enjoyable to see the pod rushing to get rid of the quickly amassing orc army. It really feels like playing as a villain! Would love to see your take on it 😃
Great additions and a great series of precon upgrades, these are certainly very helpful for those who got the decks. One suggestion I have for a future poll is to have the 3 MOM prerelease promo commanders which everyone got in their prerelease kits (Katilda and Lier, Goro-Goro and Satoru, Slimefoot and Squee). Since anyone who went to the MOM prerelease would have at least one of them it would be nice to have a deck tech for them. (I'm on team Slimefoot and Squee, personally).
Thank you for this deck. My local store increased the price to 100 usd. So straight buying the deck at 130 did seem so bad since I would add the upgrades to make it a more reanimator style deck, and I had no plans on making the other deck. With would of cost me at least 50 usd more to get to a playable state.
I wish I could, but seeing as we would be "required" to run 9 Nazgul in the 99 (which are currently running at $8+ each), the build would be far from budget... I may do a increased budget build though later if the price comes down a bit more though....
I'm gonna be honest again, but I think both Forbidden Alchemy shouldn't have been cut from the build. I would have added for sure big score and Unexpected Windfall, but I would have removed something like Finale of Eternity. If the game last as long as you being able to cast a 12 mana spells, it has went horribly wrong . Or maybe maestros charm , for the possibility of removal and putting stuff in the bin Also, I dont know if you are heavy enough on the discard spells, I would have to look more closely at the final list, but Archfiend of Ifnir always has been a massive beater for me
I was hoping you'd do Saruman the White Hand. I'm definitely building him as a grixis spellslinger with minor goblin payoffs and sacrifice stuff. I'd been wanting to build Quint Loremaster too so looking forward to that. Niv Mizzet would probably be the most interesting deck tech of the five color commanders. Tom's straightforward and Omanth just oozes competitiveness. Niv has really cool protection and i bet there are cool things to do with dual colored cards.
I am not. While I do think it may be possible to do a pure "LOTR" upgrade, it wouldn't be a reanimator build. That said, this deck is decent enough out of the box, so running it as is (or with a few additions from the LOTR set) would still be fun.
Honestly, I do think that can do pretty good against each other after upgrades. They all end up being between a power level 6 - 7 after upgrades, so a match between all of them should be pretty balanced.
@@GrazzetMTG great! Will probably do them! I wanted to do some upgrades but as someone new to commander and mtg in general i was afraid to unbalance the decks and take some fun out of it! Keep up the great work 😁👍
One does not simply upgrade Hosts of Mordor... or in this case, catch up with said upgrade. Sorry for the lack of my trademark oversized praises, life just had to give me an arrow to the knee! Time to catch up with the other amazing deck tech while waiting for Quint, MY BOIII~ Oh, and hey, we got the alternative commander tech for... Aruman! I mean, Saruman. God, I hope someone catches the reference... as for my vote for this poll, well, Bombadil already got quite the spotlight on Game Knights, Niv-Mizzet is frankly just mid, and Omnath... is a metal as balls BEAST if a card built up over dozens of sets with a Phyrexianization outta nowhere. Yeah, you can see who is getting my vote. Day 679 of waiting for the face reveal... hopefully I did not miss it in a previous vid or something!
I see Breach the Multiverse as a double-edged sword. On the one hand, its a great way to get 4 bodies onto the battlefield and set up everyone's graveyards as we do so to ensure we hit the best target initially and have further targets to hit later. On the other hand - it has a very high cmc, making it not the best reanimation spell as far as value, and because it mills of the top, we have not control over what it mills - which could range from bomb reanimation targets which we want in the bin to reanimation spells we have no way of getting back. Personally, I like more control over what I mill, which is why I included more look style effects in the build over self mill, but honestly I would leave this up to player preference (Though I would say that I would personally prefer a high CMC reanimation target over a high CMC reanimation spell in most cases).
Lovely Deck Upgrade. I bought this deck and I was wandering if it had more sense to go Sauron or Saruman ahahah In any case I will just upgrade it with LOTR cards so in the meanwhile I will take off some cards to build a Dimir Spellslinger Wraith deck :3 I can't wait for the Nazgul to drop in price a bit as they are suuuuper espensive at the moment
I love this whole thing, except... I refuse to own or play any Praetors, what would y'all suggest putting in the deck instead of Sheoldred and Jin-Gitaxias?
Fair enough! If your looking to swap out the Praetors and still stay within the same price range, I would recommend cutting them for Sire of Stagnation (who can still draw you a lot of cards) and Sphinx Ambassador (who trades the Edict and Reanimation for a free theft effect from our opponents decks every turn instead). Hope that helps!

I'm strictly sticking to the lotr set
This upgraded deck kicks ass. Took it to Saturday Commander Magic Yesterday and pulled all the big shots out of my graveyard on turn 6
Gratz on reaching over 12k subs. I'm sure many more to come due to your quality vids and radio ready narration.
We're live baby yeah

Tom Bombadil will be really cool. Crossing my finger here that you'll do Saruman of Many Colors too

deck list is amazing :D this commander sold out faster the the partners pre con!
Cyclops of Eternal Fury might be a good choice as a redundant Haste enabler in addition to Anger
YESSSS!!!!

Just bought all the cards with breakdown, now waiting for arrival and crush the enemies without mercy
I have a question wich spell i would put in exile with Broodloard?
Hey, nice info ❤, new sub.
Are you doing a only LOTR cards upgrade?

Loved all upgrades to the LoTR precons. In you opinion, can they equally fight each other after the upgrades?
Honestly, I do think that can do pretty good against each other after upgrades. They all end up being between a power level 6 - 7 after upgrades, so a match between all of them should be pretty balanced.

Man, this is such a high CMC cost deck. Has me nervous about it’s playability.
Yay
Kroxa could be cool in this deck 🤔 cuz Mill anyway Tons of cards xD but I also understand that its not the best idea ... but kroxa looks cool

Whats everyone opinion if ibreplace the commander with Sauron The Dark Lord? And upgrading via LotR cards only lol
Hi, can you crete a deck based on ravnica dimir theme commander? I rrally hope to have that
Would breach the multiverse be a good addition
