Has Aston Martin got it right with the new Vantage?
Yes, it is really beautiful, especially in person!
They have been except for the share price as usual.
Nope. It looks awful, that fishy mouth. 🎏
Definitely to be celebrated zero hybridisation…😅❤
These dry weights from manufacturers need to stop. I don’t go to the doctor and tell them my weight without blood in my body. Car weight should always be with the required fluids for operation. A car without fluids is not a car, it’s a paperweight
Spot on, and it is heavy as well as let down when really pushed hard by its torque converter gearbox. It's frigging pretty to look at, not sure if that is enough in this price bracket.
Good point
Amen brother 👏🏿
And this is why you got to respect BMW. They’re honest about the weight. Now if only brands like Ferrari would follow suit. 🤔
All the stupid rules the EU make with cars, yet they let them give the weight without any fluids, so it’s not drivable, utterly ridiculous, needs to stop !!!
A new car that's NOT an ev, and a v8? Winner!!
All car review channels should do what Harry Metcalfe / Mark McCain does - weigh the cars with fluids. Many manufacturers aren’t exactly truthful even with dry weights. Saying that, epic car. I’d have that over a 911 turbo S any day and sod the depreciation. First Aston I’ve liked since db9 / original v8 vantage
He was hitting those corners 💪🏾
Always good to see a review showcasing what 99.99% of the buyers are never going to use their car for. 😂
says who?
Oh, boo.
Ive always loved Aston Martin cars absolutely art
I think it’s a massive improvement on the previous model and really hope that it sells like hot cakes. Personally, I’d have the stunningly beautiful DB12…..but maybe that’s just my age talking 🤔
Yes. I don’t even need an infotainment system.
Finally Aston Martin is getting a new and more technological info entertainment system.
The old look is more diferent in my opinion looks more dinamic. This is like the same look in all Aston cars.😮😮😮😮
very pretty car specially in thia colour
With Aston’s lovely looks, you can forgive it being less clinical than some of its competition.
Surely there should be 11 settings for TC.
getting close to one77
The English are masters. 🇬🇧
That rear 3/4 ughhhhh im sure the 911 is dynamically better and faster, but I don’t care. I’m getting this
I bet its a beautful cruiser
How does it compare to AMG GT size and mass wise?
The AMG GT is no serious sports car anymore, more a GT. The Vantage on the other hand has become a serious sports car (super sport) while remaining GT comfort and luxury.
Pity that the AMG-sourced engine has lost that classic Aston exhaust note. Love the lime yellow colour in the shape. Suited to the car. Aston is on my shopping list when I have enough cash LOL!
Only thing I would change is pedal mount beautiful car
how can it be old school without a manual gearbox and 3 pedals? :) (not that I could afford one anyway)
Thank you goodness, I can now lay eyes once more on this great looking Vehicle instead of that ugly as-sin DBX707
For that price tag his words didn't sound justifiable
It's been a year and yet people are still calling the Michelin S5 tyres 5S. For the general public, I can close an eye, but for a motoring journalist, I can't....
What a beauty .... take my money now
Aston Martin need to stop the automatic BS and get a true DCT
Reminds me of my 2015 Jaguar F-Type R 😎
It’s no 911 Turbo
Are you going for a lap time track record? No-then there's no reason to be driving over the curbs ¿`_
Is it your car?
This or 911 turbo s
No dual clutch either
Not sure about the front 🤔
It's a thousand times better than the previous model, which looked like someone had smacked it on the nose.
@@gregspark9845 I can't agree more
Still refining Andy Palmer designs, nothing really new yet… from Lawrence Stroll.
nothing 'old school' about a crappy automatic gearbox. MANUAL OR GO HOME
Okay, I'm going to be a jerk and ask; Why does it look a bit like a Toyota GR 86?
You're blind af
Road car is good on road rather than track shocker. 🙄
Dude. I fell asleep
My fav looking Aston in a long time, tho it kinda looks like a 911 at the rear. Just like Mercedes did with the AMG GT. Nothing wrong with that, I'd take a 911 over anything
Why take the 6 cylinder
@@vadwvea7153Because it's a damn 911! And by the way, it probably sounds better than this
@@riccardozamprogno5824 no chance it sounds better than this
Glad they raised the BHP, 527 not enough 🙄 tyres said S5 not 5S !! Surely it’s a sports car not a race car, most speed limits throughout the EU and U.K. around 70-80 mph, how many Aston drivers go on track days ? 5K a year, just seems pointless going sideways round a track, which isn’t easy to do, a beautiful sports car for enjoyable road use and long trips, boot lip looks wrong a pity as a lovely car.
It suits darker colours
RIP V12 Vantage, If I was in the market for a 300k $ Sports Car, i would buy a 911 GT3 Manual, then a 911 Turbo & lastly this new gen Vantage.
Not a bad company of cars ehhh, Astons have more character compared to its German & Italian cousins.
M Cars or the new AMG GT's aren't quite appealing anymore. Compared to 2014 or 2004.
Now bring back 320 (10x wins )of them with a V12 & name them Fernando Alonso Edition.
That's ugly
It still has the wrong engine and as ugly as hell. I'd take the slower, better (much much better) looking original Vantage V8 with the Jaguar lump
I know opinions about looks are subjective so there really isn’t “wrong opinions” but, pal… “ugly as hell”? You’re wrong
@@uGotGot1618 He's not. This "Giant Mouth Bass" look is really getting old. The back end isn't terrible (probably the best part), but even that is too fiddly, and overcomplicated. The V8 Vantage that was released after the DB9 was peak modern Vantage. Although, I wouldn't kick a 60's Aston V8 Vantage out of bed for eating crackers (so to speak...lol) either. I am really hoping this giant grill trend (started in the Chinese market) dies soon. So many cars have been ruined by these hideously massive front grills, and it's been going on for way too long now.
@@uGotGot1618to some people, anything that doesn't look like their favourite from 40-50 years ago is "ugly as hell"...
It's a really good looking car.
To call this car ugly is pure stupidity.I agree about engine nothing like NA or at least supercharged
It’s extremely stereotypical of car reviewers, especially older ones, to be violently hostile to sustainability or environmental concerns, even at a time like this when climate change is obvious. Even Clarkson, in his Farming series (s03, e04) admits the climate is changing. I understand that those in their 50s+ were born and raised during a time of excess, with 0 regard for the future, but you’re crapping on the future for young people.
Leave it to liberals to come to a party uninvited and get on their soapbox just to piss in the punch bowl.
Oh please, the climate has been changing for 4 BILLION years. For the last MILLION years, the earth has had regular temperature changes every 100,000 years and we are in right where we would expect to be if you look at the temp histories. Look at the SCALE used on any of the recent graphs used to highlight "climate change". They show you this HUGE temperature increase...but it's a minimal increase, the scale of the graph is in TENTHS of a degree. Over the last 500 years the mean temperature of the planet has gone up a little over ONE degree Celsius ....ONE
At this day even a child knows climate change is bs.
Nice review all in all, but you nag too much about nothing really....
