I'm having a problem with my Tapo c200. The live view and recorded video is all broken up, like lines and boxes of colors. I can see motion when I move my hand in front of the camera but I can't make anything out. This is the second unit I've received from Amazon and they both do it. Both had/have updated firmware and all other functions work fine. Could it have something to do with my WIFI? I have dual band. I'm stumped and live tech support had no idea and said " they are sending it to higher level and will get back to me".

Hi Jenny, apologies for the late reply. hope you are well. This is to delete all the settings which was configure in the new tapo app. Lets say the technincal staff or manufacturing conduct testing. so some settings were changed. to reset is to have a brand new settings and fresh to set up

Hello Theia, If you want to change settings navigate the position then please use the account used upon set up. But if you only want to view , record or monitor, you can create account or share the account even you are abroad. I tested with my brother in the Philippines and me abroad. He can view.

Hi Rhyee 1231, that is quite a problem. Normally to set up Tapo requires the same network in my opinion. But adding other user is possible even outside the network.

Hello Jojo, The rotation is counter clockwise. Or going to your left. If you have mounted the base but did not screw at your ceiling, it may be difficult using your hands. Try something Pliers or any support that can grip a round object. If you already screwed the device at the ceiling, Just apply little force and rotate going to the left. The base is designed to have a lock shape which you need to slide. It will not broke.

Try to plug directly to the socket without AVR or power regulator. Third, if everything checked already this may be possible manufacturing defect. And then inangat po para macheck kung saan ang tamang pagkakabitan sa bubong tapos nawalan po ng connection. wala na po siyang power. No lights. No nothing. Pano po yun? Kakabili ko lang din.
Hi @Liezl Claveria, hatiin ko po sa 2 sections. 1st section ( internet connection ) - minsan pag nasa kabilang kwarto or may wall nakaharang, mahina talaga ang connection at pwde mawalan ng connection. 2nd section ( power ) - 9v po ung sa Tapo so pwde naten macheck if mataas or mahina ung current ng kuryente nyo po - pacheck rin yung power source or ung outlet na sinakskan nyo po if stable. Mas maganda if may tester kau or if wala, try nyo observe appliance nakasaksak if nawawalan ng kuryente po - isa rin ung cable pag hindi gaan nasksak ng maaus or di kaya maxado mahaba ung extension at malayo sa power source kaya d nararating ng kuryente - if nacheck na lahat, pwde nyo po approach ung binilhan nyo po, possible may problem hardware ung akin nag try ako 5 at 7meters nagana naman po at nilagay ko po sa bubong okay naman po

Ola Juilo, apologies I do not speak spanish but instead google your message 😁 From what i know, manual recording will disconnect if you tap out or close tapo application. if you are concern about the recording, you can set 24hours or continuous recording at settings. Ensure you have SD card installed got to tapo app > gear icon (top right) > microsd recording enabled > recording schedule and set to continuous recording. Set day/time or preferred choice. Once done your tapo will record continuous. go to playback. you will see all recordings from that time. Press video icon or record. It will save to memory. This time, tapo also introduces cloud storage with extra fee. you may check it out hope it helps

Hello DtOx, yes I heard and saw some reviews about this issue. I assume you tried firmware upgrade already yes? Now, it may also be possible on the network. What i am concern is that your tapos was working fine last year then suddenly 2021 got issue. I thnk would be best if you check your ISP (internet service provider) if they have done anything new. Also try to delete everything from tapo app to setting tapo device like fresh from the start. Also use or create new Tapo account. You may check some reviews www.tapo.com/en/faq/44/ . Also you can try to contact support from Tapo for technical solutions.

no need on same network, you can add many cameras on the app even on different houses or location

Sir, mine says, "This Tapo device can only be controlled locally." No matter how many times I've reset it, it's always been like this. I have 5 Tapo Cams bought and it was running good since October 2020 until last Friday, March 12, 2021. Can you help me fix this?

I assume you tried firmware upgrade already yes?
Now, it may also be possible on the network. What i am concern is that your tapos was working fine last year then suddenly 2021 got issue. I thnk would be best if you check your ISP (internet service provider) if they have done anything new.
Also try to delete everything from tapo app to setting tapo device like fresh from the start.
Also use or create new Tapo account.

Also you can try to contact support from Tapo for technical solutions.
@@chance1017 Hi sir. Yes, updated na firmares ko sa lahat ng tapo last year. I've tried multiple accounts, but still the same problem. Tried deleting the app then reinstalled it. Tried different phones (both android and iphones), still the same problem. I will try to contact the tapo for technical solutions. Thank you the response sir. God bless.

hello Black, please reset the camera. start from the beginning, add device at tapo app. connect to tapo then connect to wifi or internet. continue until finish installation. that should do the trick
How to reboot Tapo C200
Go to Tapo Application via mobile.
Click your camera name under Home
Press Gear Icon (Settings) at upper right
Scroll down until you reach the bottom,
Reboot camera will be there
You can also set auto reboot (set time)

Hi LLee, pwde mo po reboot ung camera po sa tapo app settings. If same parin, try to update firmware po. Pag ayaw parin, try po uninstall tapo app. Same issue sa ibang device? or sa phone mo lang po?
@@chance1017 hi po the firmware is up to date. I haven't tried rebooting the camera sa tapo app, pero na try ko mag reboot sa actual camera. Still the same.

@@chance1017 hi po. Ginawa ko lahat ng tips mo po. Kaso wala pa rin. Di ko parin ma view sa tapo app ko yung camera using my mobile data. Nung una wala naman problema kahit mobile data gamit ko pag nasa trabaho ako ma view ko naman yung camera. Kahapon lang talaga nag simula tong issue na to. Una ko ininstall yung tapo camera November 11 po.
