The truth is, in WWE you can't even burb without Vince's permission. Vince doesn't want anybody to be creative or innovatice. His Godzilla like ego wouldn't allow it.

I was in the front row for the symposium, being awake for 26 hours straight after my flight was delayed 18 hours from London, it is still something I will never forget. I don't think anyone could've handled that situation any better than JR to be honest, it could've been alot "worse" or out of control maybe a better word. Truthfully the whole idea of a wrestlemania symposium at summerslam made no sense!

I stopped watching WWE in mid 2012 and when I found out Jim Ross was fired from the company I was pissed off, I was even more pissed off when they decided to end Undertaker's streak to Brock Lesnar, IT SHOULD'VE BEEN TRIPLE H OR SHAWN MICHAELS OR CM PUNK The company is dead to me now.
Triple H, and Shawn Michaels turned down ending the streak. Only one who accepted was Brock Lesnar. Taker had for years been asking everyone to end it but no one would do it.

Probably one of the best commentators (In any sport) of all time. One of the main reasons I ever watched wrestling.
Vince fires people over the most trivial of bullshit. I remember hearing that Daniel Bryan was fired for spitting on Cena when he and a group of guys attacked Cena and doing something else (all a part of the show). This was all during a match. Afterwards somebody had a talk with him and said, "it happens, next time learn from your mistakes" and the Friday that same week, Vince called him up and fired him. I don't talk shit about Vince as much as a lot of people, but the guy is so indiscriminate when he fires people, no matter what the circumstances or how many years, the guy doesn't hesitate.
I think he hired Daniel back after Cena lobbied for him.
Firing a guy because you don't think he'll be an asset to you and the business or right for the company is one thing, but firing them for trivial shit like this is something else. I don't know why it bugs me as much as it does. I don't like that business philosophy.

I miss JR as a commentator. Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler & Tazz had great chemistry as a team years ago. Now Lawler is boring, JBL is a bully shitting on wrestlers during matches (still as always), Cole is freakin annoying little boy & Bryon Saxton just doesn't look like he fits in.

My heart breaks even more for Jim Ross now that he lost his wife on yesterday from a scooter accident. Thanks in part to a 17-year-old hitting her from behind. He called her his little Italian angel. Unfortunately, she didn't wear her helmet like she was supposed to do. She probably would have been alive today if it wasn't for that 17-year-old hitting her from behind in the car. May his wife Jan rest in heavenly peace with all of the rest of the Angels. My prayers and thoughts go out to the Ross family. Specially Jim Ross. This poor man has been through a lot for years. From the wcw, to the wwe firing him, and now losing his beloved wife. 😔😔☹️😠😢😢

JR is a better man than most and the WWE should feel ashamed for how they treated him I know public image is important but this is a good man and I find it hard to believe that the people in charge of the WWE didn't know he was a good man after decades of working with him ... It shows a massive lack of integrity and courage on the WWE behalf that they let JR go and it explains why the company has been going downhill

Holy $hit I had no idea Jim was fired from the WWE. I figured he was retired, & would be next up for the WWE hall of fame. Jim laid down his entire life for the McMahon family & The WWE. I was born in 1987 & jim has been an announcer since I can remember. I grew up in the attitude era of WWE. Throwing a boomerang of respect from Wilmington Delaware 2020.
Let’s be real here wwe fell off after 2010-2011ish as a kid I liked some of the villains in wwe but Cena was the main protagonists (I hate cena)that takes all the shine away from everyone else. He wins way too much. A lot of my favorite wwe stars where getting fired or retiring,so I just stopped watching after most of my idles left.wwe just isn’t the same anymore. My 3 cousins watched wwe around that time,and now they haven’t watch it in ages now.
I don't get why Vince hated him so much. Everybody loved JR on commentary. Nobody had anything negative to say about his facial paralysis. That was part of JR & it never stopped him being the absolute best on commentary. Only Vince being a piece of shit mentioned it & had a problem with it

Right around 01:30 he starts to explain how he wrongfully snaps at his wife sometimes when he slurs his words. Look at his eyes. He mists up a bit because it bothers him that he does that.

You know folks, I've watched this business as a fan for nearly 30yrs now. However, I've also had "hands on" experience been a part of it for quite a few years on the indy circuit. I also have a few high school friends that are currently wrestling as I type this one of them being "Fabulous" Phil Davis or as I know him Phil Dodson. Look him up on the website Online World of Wrestling and his profile should pull up under his tag-team name "The Heartbreak Express". Regardless of all that, Vince is a DICK plain and simple I stopped watching his product about 4yrs ago and haven't looked back. What goes on "behind the curtain" would absolutely SHOCK A LOT of folks out there and that's no joke. He works his talent to the bone, they are ALL "independent contractors" meaning they have no health insurance if they get injured and are often rushed back FAR to soon before they are fully healed. These talented performers give 1000% every single night because they have no other choice quite honestly and it takes a VERY heavy toll on them not only physically but emotionally/mentally as well. Someone out there god willing will read my comments here because what needs to be done and is LONG LONG overdue is wrestling unions. Vince would never have it however it is the only way these people will get the respect and proper treatment they so rightfully deserve. Honestly I feel Jim's tenure with the WWE since he signed with the company back in 1993 has been horrible. Besides Gordon Solie I feel Jim Ross is THE BEST wrestling commentator of ALL time because his knowledge, depth, and insight of this business is unparalleled and will NEVER be duplicated. So it's actually Vince's loss that he is no longer working for his company. And I also feel some of the various "angles" or "storylines" involving Jim over the years that deliberately mocked his Bells Palsy disease were tasteless and downright evil. Cole is good when he commentates Matches. he just sucks at making jokes ( so does lawler ) and when he tries to be a heel while commenting and Interrupting some really intressting moments etc. both of them ruined howard frinkel announcing Cm punk's entrance aswell.

While he has been released several times, he was in Vince's inner circle for a while, was head of talent relations for years, as well as the lead play by play man on Raw from 1998 - 2008. While they might have mistreated him a few times, they had a pretty lengthy and successful working relationship for almost 20 years.

I will argue and say that Jim Ross is arguably in the top 10 conversation as one of the greatest commentators of all time, and I'm not talking about wrestling, but in general. Thinking about it, Jim Ross new about a decent amount of how the matches would end, and even then he still made it seem like it was a live sporting event where you didn't know the outcome. He is a great commentator and made wrestling almost seem like a legit sport like basketball or football. He deserves to be in the broadcasting HOF.

He was in the top commentary team of all time with Jerry Lawler, they had incredible timing on everything, the storytelling done and the way they set up every angle was awesome. Every person got over purely because the commentary team put everyone over by setting them up, nowadays the commentary team are too busy talking about how much someone sucks, its dumb as hell.
