At 50 Hello Kitty is still many years younger than us. Great to see these two happy characters again. They reminded me to keep on smiling even if someone is trying to stuff you in a bag.
You're not that much older than her, Carl, but I certainly am, and getting older every day. I think we're more likely to get stuffed in a box sometime rather than a bag!
I heard about Kitty's birthday on BBC R4 ! She flies well. I too struggle to deflate a huge 4m line laundry elephant. Even with the zip undone I end up rolling on top of while being engulfed by it too. Very ungainly ! 😂
@JimNicholls zippers yes Jim. Velcro gets caught on some of the grasses we fly over. Launching horizontally onto the recalcitrant item like Superman isn't working ha ha
I couldn't help but overhear...I'm sure rolling over the kite is a good deflation technique and, as you note, watching it happen must be worth paying an admission fee. 🙂 Happy kiting!
Deflating the Kites also limits the size of the Kites I am willing to fly. A good Kite is one I am looking forward to flying it, not one I am concerned of having to bring it down or deflate it afterwards ;)
That's sensible. Some of the big items flown at kite festivals need several people to handle them, but smaller items can be just as interesting. Hello Kitty is, I think, the biggest item I still own, after selling most of the large ones, and I don't fly it very often.
Kitty’s smile is so lovely. SpongeBob is watching over him kindly.
I could have used an ordinary lifter, but I thought that SpongeBob and Kitty made a good pair.

Thanks, Jim, for taking the time to fly Kitty...she is beautiful in the sky! There are definitely kites I fly less because they are extra drama.
I certainly wouldn't fly this one every day, Richard, but it's all good fun.
Great collection. Thanks for posting. Made my day.
Always had a dream of making my own with the different colors of leftover kite fabric.
That sounds like a good project, and I wish you success if you go with it.
Kitty is a great number. Beautiful😊
It's certainly a good item, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Wow what a battle...thank you for sharing Jim...take care.
I was lucky to survive!
Nice video Jim. Sponge Bob is also cool. I see Kitty can be a problem. Thanks Jim!
It was certainly a challenge getting her back in the bag, Dewey, but that's Ok as I don't fly that item too often.
I got tired just watching you deflate Kitty! Definitely looks good in the sky though.
The worst part of flying is always the packing up, as you know, Hal, but this one is a bit more of an effort than most.
Very cool Jim. Fun watching you try to get Kitty back in her bag, Ron
It's not always that easy, Ron!
That was funny to watch the 'battle' there Jim :-)
It might have been funny for you, Nigel, but it was life or death for me - I was lucky to emerge alive!
Awesome beautiful kite🥰
I'm glad you liked it.
Nice video Jim, seeing you pack kitty away reminds me of time struggling to get an uncooperative cat to the vet's
Probably not very different, Colin, but at least I didn't get scratched!
Nice!
Thanks for watching, Evan!

Some of these things certainly don't make life easy. Maybe more (or bigger) zips would help.
@JimNicholls I thought I needed a better technique !!!!
Different items seem to need different techniques to deflate them, but I really think more zippers or perhaps velcro would make life easier.

You would think Sponge Bob would do more than just stare. LOL
Yes, Glenn, he should have given me a hand in that epic battle, but I think he found it amusing.
Amazing 🎉🎉🎉 great share 🎉❤❤ super 😊😊😊❤
Thanks for watching!

I think Yakkety Sax might have been better music for the packing scene
I agree, Dan, but copyright is always a major problem on TH-cam.
You need pay attention don’t trap over
Yes, falling over is not good at my age.
