Waqar Haider Awan it’s not too bad. When I’m not using procreate it lasts me about a full day unless I’m watching TH-cam or Netflix, but normal use like emails, web browsing, etc. lasts a while. Standby time is I think a day and a half

Myloprime the 2018 11 inch wifi only hovers around 600 dollar Mark on sites like Amazon, but i’ve seen them go on dale for as low as 549, and considering there aren’t that many features that would make the newest one worth it ( besides the ram upgrade - futureproofing ) this is a pretty good deal for such a Magnificent device

This iPad actually supports fast charge, but only with the 29W charger that you have to buy separately.

Imran Ozair no bro windows tablets have less touchscreen apps than android or iOS. It can have touchscreen but still it is a fucking laptop It may be better than mac but not iPad. Android apps are not well optimized for tablets. But on iPad every single app is optimized well for iPad. Thus iPad is the best tablet. Also samsung sucks.

2022 still using the 10.5 iPad Pro! Almost 5 years of using and still going strong! Screen quality is fantastic with promotion and battery life still very good.

These things 100% hold up today. I'd take the old ipad pros over the new base model any day. laminated display, 120hz, amazing speakers, still better than any other newer android tablet today, imo.

They should add wireless charging to the Apple Pencil so it prevents you from snapping it in half while charging.....

my iphone did lag sometimes, saw some iphones explode also, you cannot categorize all phones as "explosive" just because of the note 7. Not every android phone lags. Depends on what phone you buy and your budget. Both iOS and android are great OS and there is a reason they are still in the market today!

Omar96valles I would recommend an otter box case or a Targus case. I have a Targus case and it's been holding up pretty well and it's cheaper than the otter box but offers less protection.
Not delicate, just thin with glass. It's built pretty sturdy, no flex.

Coming from an iPad Mini 2....I want to make the leap...but I just want to ensure its a sensible one. I know it doesn't have Force Touch but its like...does an iPad REALLY NEED ForceTouch? Probably not.

yeah i dont think thats the case on iOS, why wasting graphics on making your game 120fps compatible if there is no device who can use it for years until now? better use those fps to make the graphics better
most games will need a big update to do this, IF so..
cuz is hard to deliver the same graphics than on the last iPad, but now on 120fps instead of 60 or 30 that you had before

You can actually obtain USB 3 transfer speeds and fast charging using one of Apple's USB-C charge adapters paired with a Lightning cable. With this setup, an iPad Pro can be charged in half the time.
That’s not quite what USB 3 means, and they never made USB 3 cables unfortunately, only dongles for USB-A

Still using it in 2022 and it’s killing it. Love using it for grad school and reading on it. The pencil charging is annoying but not annoying enough to justify getting a newer version
I love Marques’ videos. I would add that the 12.9 iPad Pro does have quick charging, but not out of the box. The 29w charger with the USB-C to lighting cable give the larger model quick charging. Honestly, Apple should have made it default especially since they wanted to put the Pro label it.
It does have USB C quickcharging, but they stupidly don't include a higher capacity charger for it. The USB C Macbook charger will fast charge it with the adaptor cable. Lightning just carries the USB Protocol, after all, and they now support C fast charging.

They called it out at the keynote, it's a supported feature. You could always charge iPhones faster with iPad chargers too. They have USB C fast charge, just through a Lightning port.

Yes? It's officially supported. Their USB C power bricks, with a C to lightning connector, will charge the iPad faster than the default Lightning power brick. The Lightning port in these actually supports the USB C fast charging spec. I think the difference between a physical port and a charging spec is confusing you.

houssam Z hehe you're like me I use the 2017 12.9 inch iPad Pro as my primary smartphone lol. All you got to do is download apps that allow you to create a local phone number(I use the app Fongo) and buy the WiFi+Cellular version to use data to make and receive calls/texts. Also buy a small Bluetooth earpiece since you don't want to look like an idiot making calls on a laptop sized device lol.

Yeah I am aware, I've had a 120hz BenQ xl2420t monitor for years, 120hz allows the screen to display up to 120fps. marques stated that the screen framerate was bumped from 30fps-60fps when its now a 120hz display instead of 60hz, maximum framerate that can be displayed is now at 120 fps.
Ethereal Rose not really... the hertz, symbol Hz, is the SI unit of frequency, and it's defined as one cycle per second. So the ProMotion display, with its 120 Hz refresh, is perfectly capable of displaying 120 fps content (and, in fact, it does).
there's no way animations were 30fps before. I think it bumped from 60 to 120fps.

That's not fast charging, thats just a faster than normal charge. Fast charging involves a smart plug which varies the voltage throughout the charge. The main thing with actual quick charging is that itll get you from 0-50% in a tiny fraction of the time that normal charging takes, not half, but like a tenth.

Rebooted Mind where on earth did you get that idea. If you charge it at 5 watts for 30 min you will get about 30%, lasting about 2 ish hours. Charge it at 18 watts for 30 min and you get at least 50% lasting at least 3 ish hours

PictureFit I'd only choose the surface pro if there's specific desktop apps I actually need like after effects or photoshop. For more basic photo editing or drawing or video editing, the iPad Pro will be much more enjoyable to use ☺️

No experience from Surface Pro, so a bit biased to iPad Pro.
I'd say if you can afford to wait, iOS11 is going to be the most productive iOS on iPad Apple will've ever put out. The Apple Pencil is also really great for drawing and note taking and is optimized with iOS11. So 10.5" Pro running iOS11 with Apple Pencil may prove to be just as productive as the Surface Pro.
Also the Surface Pro is a laptop first and a tablet second while the iPad Pro is a tablet first and a laptop replacement second

At home I never use my macbook pro anymore (only to reply to emails for work). All day long I enjoy my iPad Pro so much! Perfect to sit in the sofa, watch youtube, some stuff on the internet or even movies on netflix in bed before I fall asleep!

I got the new 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 inch, and I was really surprised at how much I am actually using it. It is really useful for me! I also really like the Apple Pencil do draw and also combine it with Google GBoard swipe typing.

Alienware R4 17" with 4TB of NvME for my heavy work and a Samsung Tab S3 with KR/EN keyboard for light work. For me this is the perfect combo. I think the Tab S3 is an extremely good competitor to the iPad pro series. They are weaker spec wise, but stylus style notes and work on MS office tasks it is more than enough. Not to mention far cheaper. The saving in the tablet sector allowed me to take that money and invest in upgrades on the Alienware.
I got this in 2018 for Christmas and it may be out dated but it’s really nice

Still using my 2017 iPad pro in 2020. Has not let me down. Officially my longest owned tablet. Before this I used to change android tablets every few months. The apps and software support really makes the difference with tablets. I have never looked back.

Marques, this iPad Pro 10.5 supports fast charging but you need a lightning/USB-C cable and a 29W USB-C adapter. They mentioned it during the WWDC keynote.
Also the FaceTime camera doesn't record 4k videos, but 1080p HD.

I’ve had mine since August 2018 and it REFUSES to die. I want to upgrade to the new one but this is still so smooth after 3.5 years of use
I don't think this is worth getting if you already have an iPad pro 9.7 (which is around $650 for a 128GB model as of 2017). If you don't on the other hand, this beast of a tablet is TOTALLY worth getting. You're getting all of the spec upgrades and new build features for literally the same price ($650). Also IOS 11 is coming out for it this fall for everyone. This seems like really good deal if you ask me.

Calling a 120Hz refresh rate "ProMotion" is the most applest thing Apple has done ever.
It refers to both the increased max refresh rate and to the reduced latency on the Pencil.

And the S8 "infinity display" is debatable, i'd say it is infinite but only in the area that is concidered the phone.

This things biggest selling point by far is for students. The keyboard and pencil + the apps make it a must have for notes. I see other people in class with them, but I just spent the money on a macbook and cant justify dropping that much again for school tech.
In 2020, this is the best value iPad you can buy. It’s the current Air with a better display and speakers, plus, the A10 handles graphics better than the newer chips.
And if you prefer the home button and have all lightning chargers, that’s another bonus to current iPad Pros.
You can get these on eBay brand new for less than $500.
