Even if you have 1TB, you'll have to clean it out every once in awhile. Even raw photos take up a lot of space. There is a use for all that space, but for the majority of people, yeah, a smaller model is fine. And for the record, 512 GB can't even hold every single app out there. There's way too many.
The 9.7" ipad pro actually has a 12 megapixel camera, not 8 and the 12.9" ipad pro already had 4gb of ram so the 10.5" ipad pro is not the first ios device with that

i have a 2014 macbook air, its starting to slow down and i’m not a fan of it anymore, the screen is horrible. I mainly use it for school, web browsing, writing essays, youtube etc. Thinking about selling my mac and making this ipad pro 10.5 with the keyboard my main laptop, is this a good idea?
My girlfriend recently graduated and sold her Air and purchased a regular iPad. I've tried it out as well - it doesn't have any ports like a traditional Mac but in terms of basic e-mails, Netflix, TH-cam, etc it does the job. That said if I were you and you're still in school, I'd keep the Air until you graduate, just because it's obviously much easier to write papers and what not with a physical keyboard than on a smaller device like an iPad (whether regular iPad or iPad Pro). But after graduation, if you feel like you're not doing that much intensive work on the computer at home, then an iPad should more than suffice, especially with the updates coming in iOS 11. Either that or consider a Surface Tablet because they have traditional USB ports.

The old iPad might have refreshed out of sync with the camera, causing the camera to catch the same iPad image frame for 2 frames on the iPad. Hope this makes sense lol..
NavyWhite iOS11 is basically that. MacOS is mostly for Mac's obviously. I'm happy they have the iPad and the MacBook option. It's better to get it right rather than to have a mix between the two and get them both wrong. Microsoft surface seems to be a bad tablet and not a fantastic laptop either. I'd rather have an iPad Pro and a super powerful laptop/MacBook. Putting your fingers on a laptop screen ruins the experience for me.

Eddie Fijn I think you misunderstood. It's 60fps while it has got a 120hz screen, and the old one is 30fps while it's got a 60hz screen. (It means it refreshes the screen 120times per second while the GPU sends 60 frames per second to the screen.)

Geekbench just tests 64 Bit instructions. The Kabylake CPU in the mac offers many instruction sets more that would boost performance in many situations. That makes a test like this complicated. X86 to ARM on MacOS would be pretty simmilar to the Power PC X86 Switch they already did.

So I am using that as a tablet for my 5 year old son and got this 9th gen version. MUCH faster, a little slimmer, smaller bezels, all around a leap forward. Plus, for the price that’s about $130-$150 cheaper than a current new model this is a nice deal. I look forward to the M-series CPUs coming into iPads which will really help future proof these tablets better but these latest CPUs are pretty strong and should do better to last several years with no compromises.
I wouldnt expect Apple to surpase this score with the A11. Remember that the A11 has to be smaller and has to consume less power. Matching this score with the A11 would be great.

Isabell G - You should just get the new 2018 cheap iPad honestly since it now has Apple Pencil support. Its only around $300 so unless you really need the stereo speakers or the 120Hz display on the slightly bigger Pro 10.5, I think you'd be fine with it.

The scores are only fast because of the os its running. If you put the same processors in a macbook, the scores will be crazy bad.
what are you talking about, the new macbook pro has an i7-7700 which is way more powerful than an a10x and not to mention it has 4 times more ram and about 8 times faster graphics

So I am using that as a tablet for my 5 year old son and got this 9th gen version. MUCH faster, a little slimmer, smaller bezels, all around a leap forward. Plus, for the price that’s about $130-$150 cheaper than a current new model this is a nice deal. I look forward to the M-series CPUs coming into iPads which will really help future proof these tablets better but these latest CPUs are pretty strong and should do better to last several years with no compromises.

What do you use yours for? I am going crazy looking for the right one, I will only be using it for notes and draw on. The drawings will be sent over to a bit bigger screen at some point, anyway its hard to figure out :/
Isabell G - You should just get the new 2018 cheap iPad honestly since it now has Apple Pencil support. Its only around $300 so unless you really need the stereo speakers or the 120Hz display on the slightly bigger Pro 10.5, I think you'd be fine with it.

I don’t believe you can fairly compare the new 10.5 inch iPad Pro to a 9.7 inch iPad Pro that’s running a beta of iOS 11. Of course the 10.5 iPad Pro will seem smoother running an optimized iOS 10. I know the new 10.5 iPad is smoother but by how much. Compare it to an 9.7 inch iPad Pro running the same version of iOS. Good video though. 👍
