I switched to iPad years ago for my business when visiting clients. Best decision I ever made. No longer hauling around heavy laptops from office to office . I can access things quickly, helping prevent downtime in conversations. The rest of my team criticized me, today over 50% of the team went iPad only
Matthew James Photoshop is a joke on the iPad Pro. Between Serif Lab’s Affinity Photo & Designer, it’s all you’ll ever need!! I’m not even touching on Procreate which is another powerhouse, and for those quick touch-ups and simple rapid photo processing needs there’s Pixelmator, Afterlight, Darkroom, etc. All-in-all one will get used to these apps on an iPad Pro very quickly, if only for the simplicity on the later ones!! The thing is also a beast when it comes to professional-grade video editing with LumaFusion & LumaFX, and I personally get the most use out of it with audio production. It’s a creative machine even if not a “computer” per se.
For designing work iPad Pro is great. I am an exterior car designer and I already have an iMac 🖥 so I brought an iPad Pro with Apple Pencil as my go to designing and sketching device and the iMac for using 3d modeling software .
Been using ipad since 6 years ago til now for playing games, college assignments, and illustrating. It gets better as the year progressed since there are new apps that are capable of doing some pro stuff, like affinity designer, procreate etc.
I really enjoy the Smart Keyboard Folio for my 11 in iPad Pro. Once I got use to the keyboard layout, it's become one of my favorite typing experiences!
Very good and informative video. I actually completely switched my laptop for an iPad and I don’t regret it at all. About the keyboard and case- I actually use Logitech setup and I think it is 10 times better than apple’s. I don’t know if you used it but maybe you should give it a go? 🙂
Have had 2 of these and both have split on the weld next to the enter key. Apple will no longer help me as they say it’s out of warranty. When this keyboard dies I will not get another but will look for different make. Disappointed with Apple, they charge a lot but don’t give you much support saying they have not heard of this problem before. Funny how it’s happened to me twice........

Whenever people see me using my iPad Pro 12.9 without a case, keyboard, or pencil, they always assume that I just can’t afford them even though I do it for the exact same reasons as Marques. I just can’t get over how good this hardware is and as good as it is naked it’s equally as bad covered up or with a keyboard.
I completely understand carrying a naked iPad Pro around because you don't like cases. But I would argue that simply for typing needs. you could have gone with the smart case. So I just purchased a iPad 7th gen. (2019). It’s my first iPad. Now I wanted a laptop/tablet, but I wanted something that was closer to a laptop. Made this happen by purchasing from Best Buy a Zagg Nomad book keyboard/cover. Great investment. It’s very sturdy, and heavy (because its its tough case), and nice keys with good spring back. Super impressed. This will replace my laptop. My previous laptop was a 14” screen- the smaller screens are my preference.
YOIu missed a lot not using the smart folio keyboard actually, as it does protect the back of the iPad Pro and it is a real option to type for longer time. But the video was made in 2019 and the new Slim Folio Keyboard wasn’t yet launched. You ought to give it a shot now:)
If you don't like the rubber feel of a case try something like the ProCase iPad Pro 11 Case 2018 with Apple Pencil Holder on amazon. That's what I put on mine and I love it. It's inexpensive, feels great, has a holder for the pencil, protects the iPad really well, and it has more of a cloth kind of texture to it. Killer case and I don't know why anyone would get something like the otterbox or apple with how stupidly expensive they are.
There is the slim folio and this isnt wabble or something like the ipad keyboard case! I would say tha the logitech slim folio pro is the best alternative.
My iPad challenge has been going on since the first gen 12.9 Pro came out in 2015 or 16. My 4 Windows laptops have just been collecting dust and have not been used at all since I got my first 12.9 Pro. Besides normal online stuff I also use my iPads for lots of photo and video editing along with website creation and other tasks I used to do on my laptops that are collecting thee aforementioned dust. Diane, I agree with that. I am always using split screen and have Twitter on slide over. So the larger screen is always going to be better for that. As well as Noteshelf 2 for the journal needs 👍🏻

Hi Marcus. Just a suggestion for you to add to your next iPad video: maybe have 2 magnetic holders for the Pencil? Sometimes its more comfortable to hold the iPad vertically and if the Pencil could be ON TOP of the iPad, that'll be so much better. Doesn't necessarily need to be 2 magnetic chargers, but 2 different holders would be great. If people like you speak, maybe Apple will listen.

I've been exclusively using an Android tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S, recently upgraded to an Tab S4) as my primary on the go computer for years now. And honestly it's been very good. I really use it for email, office work, presentation, photo editing, etc. The S4 has been a huge improvement with the keyboard cover and Dex. Dex is great, I kinda wish Google would just ditch Chrome OS for a their own version of Dex baked into Android.
Actually I use the Ipad pro for every work like vector, photo edit, video, write. .. except animation... There are no apps like Adobe After effects for IOS 13

I would much rather pay ~$8-12 for a TPU case on amazon than pay for monthly insurance. I've been using TPU cases since 2014 and have never had a cracked screen. My brother, who owned the same devices for the first few years, broke 3 of the same 2 phones within 4 months and 8 months of ownership. He now enjoys his pixel with a TPU case.

I've been using this exact Ipad for like 2 years now and it is actually possible to ten-finger-type on the screen. I'm not really good at it in general, but I'm not much slower on the Ipad than on my desktop. 4:25

I’m really glad that even rich youtubers can recommend the smaller size iPad because I was seriously considering the iPad Pro 12.9, just because of the full size keyboard. I still can’t even afford the 11 inch, but some day I will get it. (Plus the $200 case, $125 Apple Pencil)
If you haven't found a good keyboard/case for the iPad, what I've seen do best is the Logitech keyboard, it was literally made for the iPad Pro! I highly recommend. There is also the brydge keyboard I've heard many great things about.
iPad Pro is the computer I wish I can have as my only computer. If I didn't have a career in video editing and an interest in PC Gaming. Then this would be my only computer without a doubt. I have a Razer blade Stealth but I always just find myself using my 2013 iPad Air 1 (that really needs an upgrade) instead for everything besides on location editing and media managing. The big thing that draws me to my iPad is I love doing my regular computer things on a big vertical screen. Horizontal screen sucks for Reddit, emails, web browsing, heck I'll just say everything but watching video
i guess its awesome it will read an external storage device now with USB- C. I always thought it was lame IPAD never had an SD card slot or peripheral connectivity before. Still adding a Micro SD slot without having to use a dongle would be much more practical for storage and connectivity.

Jan Trillo-Lopez I'm using an iPad primarily as a portable computer and have been getting by great. Mostly everything I've needed from a laptop I get from an iPad. Plus, it's much lighter than my laptop and lasts far longer. The only problem I've faced is certain software my classes require such as MATLAB. That's why I still have a desktop at home but use iPad for everything else.
Parker Brooks I agree! I use my iPad Pro for a lot of the things I could do on my computer, but there are still a few things missing for my needs (but not far off). That being said, this can replace a computer entirely for a lot of people. But as Marques says, it’s just a lot more fun to use!

I usually just use my tab S4. It works well for everything I do and of course it's relatively light. And comes with a S pen. Which is awesome.

I've been using this exact Ipad for like 2 years now and it is actually possible to ten-finger-type on the screen. I'm not really good at it in general, but I'm not much slower on the Ipad than on my desktop. 4:25

I’m really glad that even rich youtubers can recommend the smaller size iPad because I was seriously considering the iPad Pro 12.9, just because of the full size keyboard. I still can’t even afford the 11 inch, but some day I will get it. (Plus the $200 case, $125 Apple Pencil)

Try the Brydge pro iPad Pro keyboard
If you haven't found a good keyboard/case for the iPad, what I've seen do best is the Logitech keyboard, it was literally made for the iPad Pro! I highly recommend. There is also the brydge keyboard I've heard many great things about.

iPad Pro is the computer I wish I can have as my only computer. If I didn't have a career in video editing and an interest in PC Gaming. Then this would be my only computer without a doubt. I have a Razer blade Stealth but I always just find myself using my 2013 iPad Air 1 (that really needs an upgrade) instead for everything besides on location editing and media managing. The big thing that draws me to my iPad is I love doing my regular computer things on a big vertical screen. Horizontal screen sucks for Reddit, emails, web browsing, heck I'll just say everything but watching video

i guess its awesome it will read an external storage device now with USB- C. I always thought it was lame IPAD never had an SD card slot or peripheral connectivity before. Still adding a Micro SD slot without having to use a dongle would be much more practical for storage and connectivity.

DropBear101 is awesome how can you say you’re rich but buy apple care. Shits expensive too! And on top of paying the deductible you still have to pay again for a repair. Stfu. Cases are a more worthy investment and add character to the device

Jan Trillo-Lopez I'm using an iPad primarily as a portable computer and have been getting by great. Mostly everything I've needed from a laptop I get from an iPad. Plus, it's much lighter than my laptop and lasts far longer. The only problem I've faced is certain software my classes require such as MATLAB. That's why I still have a desktop at home but use iPad for everything else.

Parker Brooks I agree! I use my iPad Pro for a lot of the things I could do on my computer, but there are still a few things missing for my needs (but not far off). That being said, this can replace a computer entirely for a lot of people. But as Marques says, it’s just a lot more fun to use!
