    We have been to the Palace several times. It really does depend on which hotel you stay in. The Palace is much quieter as it costs more to stay there. The other hotels are a little cheaper and you tend to get a more party crowd. They have a new, All Adults hotel now too. Great review.

    This was great info!! The only thing I would ask is, please add what is kid friendly (for shows, etc). I am wondering if kids can go to the shows. They look amazing & I would love my kids to see them. Thank you again for the post. This was very helpful for me and much appreciated.

      For all of the shows I went to, I don't remember seeing anything that I would say wasn't kid friendly. The best ones for kids (and lots were in the audience) were Magic and Circus. Some of the others might be a little slow for kids, but I think nearly every show had at least a few kids in the audience.

    Hello and thanks for your very informative videos. I was wondering about the premium rooms. What are the amenities attached to theses rooms besides being closer to the pools/beach.

      They have a few different perks like Premium check in lounge, premium drink selection, extra a-la-carte reservations, free wifi, and free spa hydrotherapy.

    Do you have any info on the spa(s)? Especially at the Riviera.

      Unfortunately I didn't go to the spa, sorry. Hopefully next time.

    Two questions , was any of the amenities closed during covid? And how much was the extra cost for bowling and arcade?

    • @FirsthandGlobetrotting
      @FirsthandGlobetrotting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The short answer to your first question is "Yes, some are closed", but the long answer is a little more confusing. The resort has been opening and closing individual hotels during COVID depending on how many people are booked, and whenever a hotel is open/closed the amenities/restaurants attached to it are open/closed. There have been times (I think around Christmas) when nearly everything was open and other times when nearly nothing was open. My hope is that as more people get vaccinated and travel restrictions are relaxed then things will reopen and stay open. The bowling was pretty expensive - I think it was $15 per person per game when I was there. The arcade used tokens and I think it was around $1.50 per token.

    when did you visit this resort? We are planning a trip to this resort and wanted to see if this was during covid times?

      This was February 2020. As of right now, the resort has been temporarily opening and closing hotels depending on how many reservations they have. Whenever they reopen a hotel, they reopen all the bars and restaurants and amenities attached to it. I think right now 3 of 6 are open...around Christmas nearly all of them were open, and some times only 2 are open. Hopefully soon once travel restrictions are reduced it will get back to 100%.

    At the speciality restaurants, do they have kids menus?

    • @FirsthandGlobetrotting
      @FirsthandGlobetrotting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they do. I think it's the same kids menu at all of the restaurants. They also have a small kids section at the buffets.

    Is the Mayan mall still on the resort? Also, strikers… the games, arcade and bowling is extra but what about the food? Do you pay for food at strikers? Which hotel is the Mayan mall closest too?

    • @FirsthandGlobetrotting
      @FirsthandGlobetrotting  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Strikers had a small buffet in it which is also free to eat at. The mall is in between Colonial and Caribe, so they are the closest.

    What if one is travelling solo? Is it safe for a woman to visit the nightclub and then get back to her room safely?

    • @FirsthandGlobetrotting

      The entire resort is gated with security at the main entrance, so it felt very safe and secure to me. If there were any problems, it would probably be from other guests, but I found the resort had more of a relaxed feeling so it wasn't a wild party place where people were acting badly.

    When did you visit? Post covid?

    • @FirsthandGlobetrotting
      @FirsthandGlobetrotting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was a few weeks before it. I think most of the entertainment is temporarily not happening right now since most of the hotels haven't reopened. Hopefully it will be back to normal soon.

    Hi is wifi free in this resort? Thanks

    • @FirsthandGlobetrotting
      @FirsthandGlobetrotting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Before COVID it wasn't (unless you had a premium room), but it is currently free for everyone. Not sure if/when they will switch back to charging for it.

    Music is way too LOUD in this theater!!!! Operators must have had their ear drums blown out. And also distorted.
