Schmidt is a very good company out here in Colorado. They tend to get a lot of the paving contracts by cities and counties. Martin Marietta is the same way. Kewit and Wildcat construction get the majority of Cdot's contracts as well.
Its cool to see how different the way of paving roads are in the US compared to Norway where I am from...here the mountains and the insane climate and long winters make asphalt a living hell xD this looks like such a smooth tempo to work in, and the groundwork / infrastructure of the properties make it look so easy. big props.
Thanks for the video! One of the best I could find. Love the f series. Find it hard not to be a little resentful of this outfit. About 4 guys at any time laboring on a gravy pave. I only get one or two tops in a parking lot.
High-quality work was done by this paving crew. The CAT paver is awesome. I never saw dump bodies that long on the asphalt supply trucks. Is there some type of ram or piston device pushing the hot mix from the forward part of the dump body back to the tailgate into the paving machine? Pretty freaking efficient as the dump holds many more tons of hot mix than a regular triaxle would.
@@FerroequinologistofColorado Ah okay. We usually run 3 rollers. I've been a finish roller straight outta highschool going on my 3rd season now, learning every day. I love seeing videos like these so I can see the different techniques.
@@Bigoe3 congrats man 7years in for me finish rolling for wa state in local 302 operaters union its fun work. Ready for the season here be slowing done soon
@@AustralianEmergencyResponses hahaha what the fuck kind of mix u guys got here in canada i have fully loaded trucks coming behind me as i do my last pass as finishing roller
@@FerroequinologistofColorado Pin the trailer mud flaps up and away from the area where it makes contact with the paving machine. I have lost flaps when I forgot to do that.
@@FerroequinologistofColorado oh what happens (not all the time) is that depending upon the position of the mud flap when the truck is against the paving machine the flap can get stuck between the paver and the truck and tear it off. I lost a few like that when I started.
David Lowe I’m not so sure why there weren’t any women on the paving crew I think that women should have the same opportunities as the men on the paving crew

The long body dump trucks have a conveyor belt mechanism in the bed of the trailer to transfer the asphalt out
Paving Companies in CT conveyor. Look up flow boy trailers
martin1234512345 thank you for your comment
@@FerroequinologistofColoradoThank you, guys. Louis
Crazy, you learn something new everyday never knew these trucks had a conveyor ive always used tri-axles. Awesome to see whats out there
How many rollers are they running? I wish we could see more of the rollers also so I can see how they do their patterns. But awesome video

Looking good boys
Was that the AP1055F 's maiden voyage?
robb wood no
Fantastic job. But did they roll it ?
Caramela Mcphee what do you mean by “roll it”
@@FerroequinologistofColorado I guess she means by a roller/compactor
Marc Johnson ah yes they did roll it out after putting the asphalt down with the paver.
How soon can that be driven on? Thanks.
The asphalt can be driven on after sitting undisturbed for 24 hours

Does the Cat spreader actually push the dump truck along?
Zaptor I’ I honestly don’t know for sure. My guess is yes as long as the truck is in neutral gear.
Runaway train Productions Yes I agree.
@@zaptor1514 yea it pushes the truck
It does that paver actually does push that truck down the road during Paving operations
second truck should've pinned his mud flaps
