Now I'm 16 and regretting my decisions. edit: LoL, I didn't mean that I'm just now beginning at 16, I've been playing guitar for almost five years. I play in multiple bands and play multiple instruments. I was simply expressing regret for the lost potential that would have set me ahead so much farther than I am now. Thank you guys for all the encouragement and wisdom though, you guys rock.
Everyone takes a different path, but ik most adults wished they started at 16 also. So u can 100% get to where u wanna go with some hard work. Good luck!

I mean it's only 2 separate 4 note patterns followed by one scale going down the neck starting at 12 or 15.i forget(havent played in like 8 years now sooo, I forgot a lot) it's not a tough song even when doing only hammer ons and pull offs

I'm a rhythm guitar player, been one for almost 16 years, and I can and will never comprehend how people can do those fast finger tapping solos scaling all around the neck and then be able to come back into a song on time. Props to this young fella though, it does take alot of practice to pull those cords and notes off. Keep on rocking buddy!
The average player can't. I've edited hundreds of guitar tracks. They tend to rush the beat while they're soloing and drag the beat when they're trying to punch back in. There are some bands like Dream Theater and Protest the Hero that are unfathomably to the click though.

I do respect the years behind but it truly does not surprises me, a guy that was taught since age 3 by his parents with all the possible help vs a poor boy that learnt with a 1 string guitar and became one of the biggest guitarrists of all time… the second one does represent dedication to me.
I think people underestimate how much playing from a younger age makes a difference, it’s actually insane how fast young kids pick things up and they can easily build and learn for years to come

If you have a guitar spend some time each day playing around, and using some TH-cam tutorials or local lessons if you can. It might not be fun at first and takes time to be rewarding but its worth it! The journey is more important than the destination! And if you don’t have a guitar then theres a lot of great guitars for low price!

What I like about this is there's a point where you've clearly improved. Then, there's a certain age where, after mastering the basics, you're now trying to master tapping and more advanced techniques. It seems to others like you haven't advanced cause you're missing some notes, or they're not as clear as they could be. But it's because you've gotten to the next stage of your playing, and you'll soon be able to pull off those notes as smoothly and clearly as you did for the Daft Punk song. And you're leagues ahead of me for sure.

Glad you enjoyed! I wouldn’t call myself classically trained but i did learn to read music before i could play a power chord, so i do have some classical background reading consistently the last decade. But ive always worked on a variety of styles, but right now im enjoying neoclassical, and more modern guitar stuff as well.
