We have a portable plasma cutter, and regular AC/DC Lincoln sticks, with a Tig wand and a gas tanks with regulators. DC because we do marine work, so stainless steel, is a biggie. Sad that you don't do hydraulic hoses, people need to get their heavy equipment, machines, even forklifts, immediately. The alternative is wait a month on backorder, for OEM parts. I went through four hundred feet of hose and drawer fulls of connections. Every drill press, could use a Square D, reverse switch.
A messy shop is a well used shop. we don't need chips and oil all over the floor but, multiple projects is the way it goes. Multiple staff multiple messes.
I love this video I could listen to you talk about tools all night long and all day long. I just love it I love to myself machines tools I just love them.
I was not born here, it is not about any group of people other than simply those that live here, less than 1% of the land is owned by individual persons. The State, Feds... will let someone purchase land for very high prices, It should be Free. I am not concerned about myself getting ground, rather my concern is for other Alaskans, I own several acres already.
It is all about the market you can get work from, and what machine can be purchased for good prices, try to avoid long shipping distances, it adds a lot to the costs.
Great tour. Makes more off the old drill press then the $32k lathe covered in boards and dust.
Not having lived in Alaska, there are some things that I take for granted..... like not having to put tire chains on your forklift!
I saw a cart at the beginning of this video. It’s a Magline hand cart. Made in Standish, Michigan. Where I live. Kinda cool.. to me
Love the shop tours and each machine history

I love how his shop looks always like a trainwreck, but somehow he knows where to find every single tool and bolt.
Dang, I thought I had too many welder’s..

Never enough shop space. Probably a law of physics.
On the hydralic press, why not just put a kick out type valve on it as a wood splitter has rather than using a limit switch?
The valve would take more distance to trip, so I would loose too much of the stroke.

Remember ! A clean machine makes no money 🤑 !
Why do believe Alaska for Alaskans were you born there thanks

Good video thank you
Whats your best earning machines? What would you recommend for someone setting up a small job shop?
I am not saying what machine too get but it is what type of work you may get in to your shop as too what machine you may need
